annyshay
Annyshay was rudely awakened by Navi in July 2015 (for more details, see her battle log). She has come a long way since she was first summoned to the Great Deku tree and swept up in an adventure far bigger than herself. So far she:listened to her fairy (start days with quiet time with God)found a sword (daily movement)bought the deku shield (mindful, level 5 meals)followed the dungeon map (GMB Elements!!!!)aimed the fairy slingshot (craving control habit)used the compass (tracking nutrition)recovered gold skulltulas (meditation, studying, and recovery)cut lots of grass (5-6 vegetables per day)watched the weird egg (posted all non-paleo food)broke some pots (rewrote my “finished a task habitâ€)listened to Kaepora Gaebora (tracked on spreadsheet) Although her body composition remains far from ideal, she has made great progress on her journey towards the Triforce of Awesome (healthy, happy, look great). Her current habits work well. She doesn’t know exactly what lies in front of her - likely new cities, new dungeons, and entirely new races of people - but she continues preparations for the epic life ahead of her. Main Quest - Improve Body Composition by Easter (3/27/2016) Hylian Shield - Eat at the Table Eat at the table. Just eat. Stop doing everything else. This is a habit I need to recultivate in order to defend against mindless munching. Cucco Wrangling - Mindfulness Mental chatter and thoughts are often like cuccos. There’s a lot of cuccos running around my mental Karkariko village. Mindfulness, writing, and other introspection skillz help me to get these suckers back into their pen where they belong. This will be a free form goal where I continue to meditate and write about keeping my headspace healthy. Goron Bracelet - Integral Strength Integral Strength will make me strong enough to throw bombs, make me the bomb... or something roughly equivalent. Anybody who has been here before knows that I am WAY EXCITED for this new program from GMB after all the success I had with Elements. Also, GMB respects the triforce. Ocarina of Time - Self Love That’s right, Zelda and Shakespeare. Calm down. I know you can handle the awesome. Here are the “songs†I’ll be practicing (at least one daily) during this challenge:zelda’s lullaby = writesun’s song = natureepona’s song = animalssaria’s song = music Kaepora Gaebora - Spreadsheet I know, Kaepora Gaebora can get a little… well, annoying, long-winded, and detailed. Still, he keeps me on the right path. Much like my trusty spreadsheet. So, I’ll try to be patient and check in with him regularly.Off we go! PS... we're starting NOW! 8 Quote Love as thou wilt. My broad jumps are longer. I leveled up to 1/2 shrimp squat without hold, 1/2 push up, 1/2 inverted press with weight to the front (just slightly better than broken here...), and face down hollow body hold. annyshay
Nobody is gonna stop you, girl!Lara. Thank you for this. I've been feeling sorta crappy the last week due to some random happenstances. Last night I was warming up some coconut oil... and it caught on FIRE!!!! Grease fire - not cool. Luckily, I handled it without any problems. After the fact my heart rate was still nuts and my mood was just weird. I was starting to get down on myself about anxiety and stress and such... Then this morning, this comment. It really turned my self talk and morning around. Thanks, and keep being lovely. <3 I especially love the "eat at the table" goal! also YAY and HI!YAY! It's worked well before. I need to doooooo eeeeeet. Me too love the "eat at the table" goal. Actually need to set that for us as well. You go get this challenge!Yes, ma'am! 1 Quote Love as thou wilt. annyshay
Week 0 Day 2 Hylian Shield - meals at the table (with a napkin and everything... what?) Cucco Wrangling - I alluded to this a bit above. Used wearing parts of my Link costume (pictures are coming... patience), chatting with a friend, dark music, and Shakespeare to cope. More details below. Three things in the last week have triggered weird brain stuff.1) The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. This book was stellar. Halfway through there was a scene that was rather triggering for me. Reminded me of some of the verbal abuse and garbage I dealt with as a kid. The next night my dreams were weird and stressful in a way I haven't had to deal with lately. You should totally read the book too! Just... not at night, hehe.2) I have a total crush on a guy that lives too far away. (shhhh, there aren't many details) We had been texting. I saw a message on my phone talking about a sweet concert in my town. Only ten minutes and many raised hopes later did I realize that this new message was from a different friend with a similar name. Disappoint!!!!!3) Grease fire yesterday.Yesterday this all culminated in feeling a "psychological onslaught". Kind of like things were too unpredictable and why was I even trying. Tried to stick it out and distract myself. Feeling a bit better today, but staying vigilant for stray cuccos... Goron Bracelet - active recovery - water B series from NF yoga Ocarina of Time - zelda's lullaby vs saria's song (?) - I spent a while listening to awesome music while reading Shakespeare sonnets because my head was being all weird. Here was my favorite of the night. Kaepora Gaebora - yup! 4 Quote Love as thou wilt. Link to comment
annyshay
Week 0 Day 3 Hylian Shield - was reading NF during breakfast... then turned it off and had a proper meal, lunch and dinner right on track Cucco Wrangling - I'm struggling with being too self-critical (didn't look like I wanted to in my clothes today, blah blah) and the residual weirdness from the last week. Lots of NF catching up and watching Howl's Moving Castle helped quite a bit. Also, this song... Goron Bracelet - ISw2d3 - I think I've found my current level for all of the exercises. Working hard! Broad Jumps - rough & solid, smooth & solid x2Half Shrimp Squat - smooth & solid, smooth & challenging, rough & smoothFull Push Up - smooth & challenging x3Top o'Head Bridge - rough & solid, smooth & challenging x2Chin Ups (jump, hold, neg) - smooth & solid x3Half Inverted Press (wt to front) - rough & challenging x31 Foot L-Sit - smooth & solid x3Hollow Body series - smooth & solid x3Rest - 3 minutes between circuits Ocarina of Time - saria's song - listening to The Bloggess' awesome "Songs that pull me out of the hole" playlist, including the song above... on repeat. Lilith
That sonnet was beautiful! I always like Shakespeare but then I never do get around to reading it. You not being happy with your body is a serious issue though. I'm going to give you an over the top warning. Your body is probably much prettier, fitter and better looking than you think. Especially because you are on here, making changes, working on improving yourself. Last time I tried to lose weight I found out my body lost weight faster than my mind saw it. Ridiculous, you'd say. No, I have the progress photos from back then and I distinctly remember being disappointed, NOT SEEING ANYTHING MORE THAN A VERY SLIGHT CHANGE AT ALL. When I look back now I nearly cry because I gained all that weight back and I wish I looked like that now. So yeah that was my over the top personal story. I just really want to impress on you, work on how you perceive your body too. Really. Don't be too harsh. I mean, you need to be harsh enough to wánt to continue to make changes. But once you're on that, give your body some appreciation. <3 3 Quote Level 7 Assassin Cat - Meow!
