LittleTurtle fights her way to the castle beyond the Goblin City

My Quest really doesn't have much to do with the Labyrinth, but that movie makes me insanely happy, so I figured that I'd like my thread to be littered with as many David Bowie/Jareth the Goblin King/Labyrinth pictures, gifs, and quotes as possible.   :frog:

MAIN QUEST

Starting today, I'll be focusing ALL my efforts towards getting back down to my "happy/healthy weight range" (130-135 pounds) by the end of the year.

GOALS TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS

  • Exercise 4-5 times per week.
    • 2-3 treadmill workouts (w/ Tabata Timer) No Tabata - I hate it and it makes me hurt in bad ways (11/16/15)
    • 1-2 yoga workouts
  • Continue with a mostly Primal diet with very limited wheat and sugar intake.

Challenge Spreadsheet

And away we go!

Woot for 30 days.  Are you still planning to break that streak, or would you rather try for 60?

I'm not planning on breaking the streak...I like counting to see how many days I can go.  I'm not gonna lie...I still want candy every.single.day.  But I like to tell myself this:  "It's never easy, but always worth it!"   :frog:

Woo! Congrats!

Thanks!   :D

Nice goals - and I like how you decided to go beyond the challenge! A goal does not stop to be a goal just because the challenge ends...

I am sure you will start the New Year with your desired weight, and very likely also with improved health, if you stick to your diet.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your success!

…and I might pop my head in this thread every now and then. :D

Hmmm, is dehydrated fruit considered sugar?  I'm sure that the paleo peeps could give you a "candy" recipe that isn't technically cheating as long as you don't eat too many.

Hopefully the cravings will go away once Halloween is over.

I have conditions that affect my social awareness.  If I am rude, tell me what I could do better.

Good question.  Basically, I haven't been eating anything that has sugar listed in the ingredients (that includes the tricky names for sugar too!).  So for instance, I will eat a small handful of raisins, but I won't do dried cranberries.  Fresh fruit and berries are my go-to though.  I don't really ever eat dried fruit unless its raisins.  (PS - raisins mixed with whole cashews is about as close to perfection as it gets!)

The cravings haven't been too bad this week, but yesterday I was at the store looking for an outlet adapter, walked around the corner, and BAM!  It was like Halloween candy utopia.  I ran away as though the aisle was filled with zombies!!

THINGS I LOVE / THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY

Welcome to my new addition to the challenge.  I'll call this my Life Goal/Side Quest.  I've been dwelling on negativity and anger for far too long, and to be honest...it's fucking exhausting.  However, today I actually woke up in a pretty good mood and so far my job/work hasn't destroyed it, so I'm going to take advantage of my lighter mood today.  Every few days, I want to post about things I love and/or things that make me happy.  I did this a few challenges ago and really enjoyed it, but the habit didn't stick because my default mood is generally just plain rage.

- When my cup of black coffee reaches the perfect temperature.  Not too hot, not too cold.  YAY!

- When I have something awesome to look forward to.  After work this afternoon, my boyfriend and I are heading out of town and have a room reserved at a natural hot springs resort, and I'm so excited for some quality soaking!

- When I come to work and all the teachers that called in sick have substitutes and I don't have to run around for an hour stressing about how to cover a billion classes.

:peaceful:
