skinNbones
Well basketball training went well last night. My hips and back are in a lot of pain today, but it was a fun session, and yet again I outrun the younger lads at the beginning ( less so after 90 minutes). I'm still missing a lot and not driving as well as I used to, but it's been a long time and we only practice once a week.Tonight will probably try and dig out some sort of yoga for my back. Also going to maybe try some of @Sloth s plan for back pain."I knew he was bluffing" 3 Quote SkinNbones : Recruit, Rangers, Jumps, Breaks, ,Tanks, Prepares, Adjusts, Goes Mad, Of The Dead 1, 2, 3 , Level 7 Ranger Link to post

skinNbones
Well I did the Adrienne yoga routine for backs (off YouTube) last night. I've never been too sure about that before, but I felt like it did help this time and some of the stretches were much harder than normal so I think my muscles must be tight and it must have been targeting them. Definitely shows that my sore back and hips are all related (and my hamstrings!?) Snarkyfishguts
This week I've almost lost a whole kg . I'm hoping some of that is water weight."I knew he was bluffing"I betcha it is. You were probably holding some in after those workouts. I always retain water after a big workout. I have an uncle with a similar problem. His metabolism is crazy- he can eat 3 times as much as the rest of us and has to workout just to keep from getting too thin, but it's hard because muscles burn so much fuel and you don't want to eat just any old junk food. I never really appreciated the struggle being such a fat panda myself until I started following your thread. Thanks for teaching me something 1 Quote Link to post
skinNbones
Thanks Snarky. It is odd, the last few years my weight has been pretty steady at 63/64 kg (TBH I rarely weighed myself). But since I've managed to get over 70 kg it takes effort to keep it on. Like you say though I don't just want to eat junk. I do feel a bit bad sometimes complaining about it when people are going the other way. We all have our own struggles and they are equally important. And, like Snarky said, it helps us fat pandas see things from another point of view. I have a tendency to think skinny solves all and I tend to feel judged - when it's really just me judging myself. Charlie_Quinn
My knees pop and crack all the time but they have never caused me any pain, so like Rurik said, I've just learnt to tune it out! skinNbones
I've messed up a bit, didn't work out on Monday as I got confused about what day it was (you can tell I'm getting old), then last ight I had to spend 2 hours changing the washing machine door seal. So now I have three days left of the challenge and 3 workouts to fit in.😕 Basketball this week was a game, which we lost pretty badly, but I was pleased with the 4 minutes I spent on the court. The other team were better than us, but they also played quite physically so now I'm nursing a bruised leg and a sore hand. Still need to gain a fair bit more weight to stand up to players like that. originalpiratematerial
I find it hard to gain weight now, my weight stays steady at 57 kgs (8st11lbs) although I've been trying f really hard to put on muscle. I mean, I have put on some muscle because it is visible but not a lot! But when I only ran, and didn't do strength work, I was 8 st 8lbs. So I guess that hard won 3lbs must have come from somewhere. I do eat a lot and am envied by my friends who find it hard to lose weight. And I know womens obesity is a big health issue and I'm glad I don't have that one to worry about obvs. but still, it is a bit frustrating. 1 Quote Link to post
skinNbones
My weight used to be pretty steady around 64, but now I've put some on (almost 10kg) there's nothing steady about it. skinNbones
Did deck of pain again last night but TBH honest I didn't really hit it with the same intensity I've kind of decided I'm going to switch back to a slightly more organised routine , probably just treat the startBodyweight progressions as a circuit to keep it around 30 minutes and allow better progressions."I knew he was bluffing" 1 Quote SkinNbones : Recruit, Rangers, Jumps, Breaks, ,Tanks, Prepares, Adjusts, Goes Mad, Of The Dead 1, 2, 3 , Level 7 Ranger Link to post
