And the dragon looked kinda lopsided and meth mouthed for a bit until I figured out how to flesh the poor guy out. Hmmm ... I wonder what the bitterness was. I didn't taste it, but my DH is usually more sensitive to stuff like that - and "pumpkin" scared him off. I've eaten the whole batch by myself and just finished it off for lunch today. Totally fine with me! I actually just made another squash dish I can't wait to try - slow cooked chicken thighs with kabocha squash (another type of pumpkin), green curry paste, lemongrass, and coconut milk. It smelled heavenly and the few bites of broth I tried were incredible. My goal with this class thing is to make 1 - 2 slow cooker meals per week so the DH at least has the option to not eat takeout Indian on Tuesdays & Thursdays. He (so far) still ends up ordering it, but at least I've done my wifely duty and provided a nutritious, free, and healthy option. Next week is a massive pork shoulder I'm going to slather in this new rub I picked up at the butcher + vinegar sauce & crock pot. I may also grab tortillas for him & lettuce or cabbage or something for me, so we can nibble on tacos all week. I have a feeling this batch is going to be awesome. It's usually awesome, but since this is the fancy pig it had better be doubly awesome. Ooh. And I started on a wolf cross stitch for a certain someone - and it's going to be quite the undertaking. It's larger than anticipated, but I really liked the pattern so I'm sticking with it. And since I had the floss, plus it's sorta seasonal, it's in pumpkin colors. An overnight ruck would be awesome - and I think teaming up is how that's going to happen. This weekend was supposed to have more activity (originally scheduled to do Tough Mudder, with a backup schedule of climbing), but the DH's onerous work and no sleep schedule put the kibosh on that. Beer Yoga (spreadsheet): Taking weekends off. This Week: Got all 5 weekdays in. RuckFit (Spreadsheet): Taking weekends off. This Week: Didn't log a ton of miles, but I racked up a few. I need to get my father to take the test to get my patrilineal info, but THIS SHIT IS AMAZING. I’m twiddling my thumbs, waiting for my data to get back from 23andMe and have been taking the 999999989 quizzes on the site to maximize my contribution to the greater good. TWIDDLING MY THUMBS. Anything to do here? I can either wait for my results to be updated through 23andMe (they just got permission to give full data again - and doubled their prices), or I can run the raw data through promethease, or I can wait until I have more info from my father’s side of the family for the genome stuff. I haven’t decided yet.
