Brutal Bears Needs Some Druid Healing

Introduction



Hey everyone, this is my first challenge with the druids, and I am really excited to be here. I have historically been a warrior throwing around weight in my garage, but constant injuries and illness have really affected my goals. So, the most important thing at the moment is that I am staying healthy, dealing with stress, and not giving up due to injury. I also really need to get plugged back into the community, so I am going to make that a part of my goal for this challenge.


I swore to myself that I would never make a Warcraft themed challenge, for just looking up the pictures for this challenge make me want to play again-and that game stole my soul more than the drugs before I got sober (my sobriety date is 4-30-08). So, Thanks for having me with the druids, I wish everyone a great challenge!


 


Now I will say the geekiest things I have ever said, and if anyone understand what I am saying you are awesome.


I feel like Broll Bearmantle begin a warrior trained as a druid due to circumstance... I have read waaaay to much WoW lore...

I'm going to try working out 4 days in a row-since they are the only 4 I can commit to, my plan will go as follows


Upper Body Workouts done: 11

Monday 10-26-15


I walked 1.9 miles and decided what I can do for my health why I am getting fit for lifting again. I'm going to give up smoking, which will be perhaps harder than losing weight for me. I have been smoking  a pack a day for over ten years (since I was 13!), and it is about time I quit. Not just for the health reasons, but for the financial. I can't afford to be a smoker in more, its just too damn expensive. Yesterday I busted out the E-cig at 2.4 mg of nicotine, which is not the same a a cig-my cravings are pretty brutal at the moment. But, when I quit for a few months in the past I used the e-cig method and got some decent results. My plan will be to use the e-cig at 2.4 mg until I feel comfortable, then drop down to 1.6 mg-and ideally all the way down to 0 mg of nicotine. Where I failed in the past with quitting was each time I relapsed and had a cigarette I would say screw it and buy a pack, but my goal will be to let having a single cig be a one time thing and not go off the deep end. If anyone has had any success quitting I would love to hear how you did it!

Good luck with quitting smoking!  I know how hard it's been for my Mom.  I'm sorry I don't have any helpful tips, but I'm here for moral support!  :frog:

I hope you have a good time with the druids and heal fast to make some gainz next year. To quit smoking can be hard, but I heard good things about e-cigaretes and I'm confident you can do it. And like you said, it will be benefitial for your health, too.

Good luck with quitting smoking!  I know how hard it's been for my Mom.  I'm sorry I don't have any helpful tips, but I'm here for moral support!   :frog:

Tuesday 10-27-15:

I walked 2.6 miles, got involved in the NF community, and hit two days of no cigarettes! They say the third day is the hardest, so today may be a challenge. Also, I got to spend yesterday watching my Royals at the Koffman win the first game of the World Series. It was insane, though I didn't get home until 3 am. 14 innings that was awesome!

I did the quit smoking thing with my last challenge. I hung on from week zero to week six and relapsed again.  :hopelessness: It's one of those things I myself have yet to conquer. I made through couple of weeks pretty easily, but there's something really deeply embedded that keeps pulling me back. I wish good luck for you on that one, I know it can get rough.

Lol, it is a bitch isn't it. Just like World of Warcraft, no matter how long I have quit I also end up getting pulled back.

10-28-15: Boom! Day 3 with no cigs complete, 2.5 miles walked, another week with out a sugary drink, kept up with the community, and a victory for the Royals (Cueto killed it!); who could ask for more?

Glad you have some plans for the weekend! For me, each year a bunch of buddies and myself build a (over a few days, starting today) a giant dance out of an old barn-that is always super over the top and crazy. So, my Halloween will be filled with being the DJ for a Halloween themed dance and lots of World Series baseball, what about you?

Glad you have some plans for the weekend! We are brewing mead, eat lasagna together, scare/entertain the local kids ( my bf will be dressed up as knight) and play board games. I'm really looking forward to it. Although I still have to prepare a few things.

Your activity sounds a little more exhausting ;)

Ya it was, easily my favorite comic. Though I had made the mistake in high school of it being the first graphic novel I ever read, now nothing seems good. It set way to high of a bar-though Neil Gaimens books help make up for it. I actually themes my last challenge off of sandman, and now I think I need to go order "overture"

That sounds awesome though, what board games have you been into?

We love "Mansions of Madness". It's a board game series in the Lovecraft Universe. It's a co-op game, where you play against the "Bewahrer".

We also like to play Zombie Dice. Because it's really easy to play and a good game for breaks.

But perhaps we are playing "Zombies" this weekend. My boyfriend likes it.

I would like to try out "Gloom" instead.

 

Oh we have a lot of board games. This are only the ones we considered for Halloween ^^ I like co-op games. But I hate, when we discuss every move a long time. So one of my favorite games is "Room 25".

Friday 10/30-Sunday 11/1:

The Kansas City Royals are officially the best baseball team in the world, and I couldn't be happier! My entire lifetime I have waited and cheered for teams that never came home with a gold, but it is finally here! I spent the entire morning making a Royals victory "thing" for my office. Hell ya!

 

Regardless, over the last couple days I walked 11.3 miles, wrote 2,102 words for NanaWrimo, finished all of my school work for the week, and with a warm up done-I am ready to take this challenge head on!

I'm impressed, in my neck of the woods I am rarely out geeked. though I feel like a few of these games are German, and therefore not as popular in the US, lol. Regardless, I've been sucked into Hearthstone and Risk:Legacy recently.

Of Gloom I have the English version. And we also prefer the American versions of Flux and red Dragons Inn. Flux has a much nicer Layout in the US and for Red Dragons Inn they stopped printing the first game. And they won't translate the third part into German. It's such a good board game. Especially for people who like to play pen & paper in a fantasy setting. It's about a group of heroes, who mets up in a Tavern and play cards for their loot. And the illustrations are really funny. :)

Yeah, I guess we are board game geeks. ^__^
