Your NaNoWri goal seems to go really well. If you keep up with it like this the 50k words are totally doable. I'm really impressed, because for about ten years I've been struggling a lot with my writing. Perhaps I should participate next year.

You also did well on the smoking front. Good job. Why only 30 days? I thought you wanted to quit for real this time.

You didn't get in all the workouts you wanted to do, but you walked a lot and your week sounded stressful. We are all glad you can do strength traing again now. I guess four times a week would have been too much at this moment. But you will get back to it and the progress you made shows, that you are recovering. Two weeks ago you couldn't walk that much without pain. So this is great progress. :D

True, I hadn't thought about how much progress it is to even be walking again. I'm planning on quitting smoking for real this time, 30 days is just a good checkpoint/mark of progress. How is your challenge going?

It's slow but steady. I am doing doubles all week to cushion myself. 25k by next sunday!

Monday 11-9-15:

I walked 4.2 miles, did a strength workout, meditated, hit 15,010 words, completed day 14 with out a cig, and damn am I feeling good about the start to this challenge!

I'm fine. This week I'll be a little busy. But my meditation and other strategies are helping me to get through. For example I'm really glad about my packed lunch this week.

Das is gut. And, that is about all the German I have left from high school, lol. Maybe I should start learning the language again. I'm glad that you have some ways to cope with a week that isn't going as planned!

Tuesday 11-10-15:

I walked 9.4 miles, hit 15 days with out a smoke (half way to my check point), hit 17,216 words, did a upper-body work out, defeated the wandering monster Wednesday (2 minutes of planks), and did a meditation.

50% that is GREAT! You can make it. Do you already register a difference in your senses? A friend told me, he suddenly started smelling more, when he quit smoking. When I stopped smoking I was somehow more aware of smokey hair. After a Party I couldn't stand it to go to bed without taking a shower first. Because I couldn't stand the smell of my own hair. But I never smoked regularly.

Wednesday 11/12/15-Thursday 11/13/15:

I walked 7.9 miles, hit an AA meeting, hit day 17 with out a smoke, did two meditation sessions, hit 21,006 words, and I did a hell of a lot at work! I think I am going to try my hand at some geocahing this weekend, seems like a cool way to get in some physical activity.

It is weird, I am starting to smell things I haven't smelled in years. It is rather over whelming, and awesome. I'm really impressed with myself for making it this fat, I don't even want a cig right now!

My bf got into Geocaching for a while, he really liked it.  Good luck hunting!

 

Congrats on the not smoking victory!  Last year, I used to eat clementines in my office like every day, and one of my coworkers decided to quit smoking.   One day he came into my office freaking out because he could smell my clementines from HIS office, and he was so excited.  I was happy for him, sounds like it's a brand new world!

 

Also, super impressed with your writing word count. I thought about doing it this year, but.... maybe next year. School is enough writing for me right now.

I've never really fully looking into Geocaching, but it sounds interesting. Hopefully you enjoy it a lot!

Thanks it's pretty awesome, I haven't gone this long with out a cigarette since I was 13!

Friday 11/13/15-Sunday 11/15/15 (and weekly update)

Wow what a weekend, I can't remember a weekend I did this well. I got all my school work for the week done, I hit 23,500 words (1,500 short of my goal, bust still impressive, hit 20 with out a cig, walked a whopping 19.8 miles (in 3 days!), spend a few hours geochaching (and loved it), played an hour of flag football, did an upperbody strength workout, and meditated each night...*pats self on back*

Monday 11-16-16:

I walked 3.1 miles, hit day 21 without a cig, did a strength workout (leg day!), and came to a realization: I won't be able to finish the NanoWrimo Challenge. While writing a book is something I would really like to do it is clear that it isn't feasible at the moment, with where everything is at I had to choose one thing to go; the choices are school(it is mid terms week!), work, work outs, or my novel-so priorities dictate that "Swamp Rats" will be put on hold and penned more another, more fitting day...
