By the way, it looked to me like you did really well while traveling and visiting with family. Sometimes it's hard to get away for workouts, but it looked to me like you made a solid consistent effort. The ice cream felt good on my sore throat, but I definitely overdid it. No exercise yet this week, I haven't been sleeping enough/well which is likely delaying my recovery. Aches/lightheadedness/exhaustion abound Week 5 Day 7Things I ate: mochi, chocolate covered bananas, ice cream, bread with butter and olive oilLost to the cravings Week 6 Day 1Things I ate: ice cream...I don't remember what else Week 6 Day 2Felt way better. Things I ate: roasted sweet potatoes and carrots, ice cream, green beans, 2 deviled eggs, peppersWent to my cousin's live taping (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and they had catered food. After eating like crap for a few days, resisting the baked goods wasn't so hard. Week 6 Day 3Breakfast-butternut squash soupLunch-mortadellaDinner-2 bowls broccoli soup with butter, bacon fat (the butter added wayyy more flavor than the bacon fat) Week 6 Day 4Ate exactly the same as Day 3. Haven't been hungry the last couple days, likely due to not working out so minimal physical activity. So proud of myself for avoiding all of the cookies and pies and candy (I ate ONE M&M in a moment of social anxiety). There was catered BBQ, passed up the mac and cheese but ate the mashed potatoes (which probably had cheese and stuff). AND as a volunteer I managed to scavenge half of a brisket...5+lb of delicious cooked meat sitting in my fridge right now. Since meat is the most expensive ingredient it's pretty exciting Breakfast-cup butternut squash soupLunch-roasted sweet potatoes and carrotsMisc-3 chocolate covered pumpkin seeds, one M&MDinner-brisket, ham, green beans, potatoes (servings were very moderate, as usual with catered meals) I feel so much better after eating cleaner the last few days. Breakfast-few bites of brisketLunch-more brisket (had to run out the door)Dinner-curry with chicken, carrot, potato, a little rice and curry fried rice, one chicken wing Workout-10.6mi ruck ...yay! Except blister on the sole of my foot booooCravings-yupStrength-nope Made gingerbread houses with my cousins, and ate none of the candy. It helped that I'm not a huge fan of non-chocolate stuff, plus I'm a chocolate snob. But it was certainly tempting to just cram a handful of M&M's in my mouth. No slip-ups, no regrets. And takeout dinner was so delicious that I didn't feel deprived at all. One more day in this challenge, and I'm already excited for the next one! Went to a craft fair to hang out with my cousin and her bf. Bummed around Little Tokyo a bit. Not as clean eating as the days prior, but given my icky cramps it wasn't bad...better than my standard monthly mouthfuls of chocolate and way too many bowls of rice porridge. Week 6 wrapupWorkouts-2Cravings-5/7Strength-nope nope nope Challenge wrapup is coming. This was a tough one...don't think I've ever had life get so much in the way before, but I kept rucking. Going to focus on habits and healthy routines next challenge. And the things that fell by the wayside this time, like the strength and purging. ALL THE THINGS! I'm not really purposefully doing IF, but I recognize that in the morning my stomach is sensitive. So in the morning I just have hot water with lemon, and by the time lunchtime comes around I'm properly hungry for lunch. I'm working on listening to my body and controlling my portions. I've been walking a fair amount and moderating my eating...family trip to Napa has meant lots of wine. I overdid the chips and cookies yesterday, made me feel ill. Chips are definitely a food with no brakes for me. Have to remember to drink tea instead of eating just because the food is there. I finally, slowly feel like I'm gaining a better awareness of my own hunger. My brain-stomach connection has been messed up so long due to IBS...but I actually don't remember the last time I had a bad episode. The frequent mild discomfort persists, but it's a huge, huge win to not have the cramps/chills/exhaustion. Life is good. Headed to Cancun in 3 days!Will definitely look over my challenge results before then.
