I've got a courgette dish planned for tomorrow :D I didn't know that was a squash.

Yup!  They're a summer squash (i.e. the skin is soft and you can eat it, vs winter squash, which has harder skin).

Right?  I looooooooooooove veggies.  I may be most excited about the Yoshi challenges........... out of this entire mini. :D

Yoshi's challenge: 

I made pasta with homemade pasta sauce.

 

Ingredients (3-4p):

- Two cans tomato cubes (or 8 fresh tomato's, sliced in cubes)

- One can tomato paste

- 250 - 300 gr pasta

- Courgette

- Chorizo (or salami)

 

Boil the pasta

Cut the courgette and chorizo into cubes

Put the courgette, chorizo and tomato cubes into non stick pan and bring to a boil.

Let boil for 5-10 minutes (doesn't really matter how long, I boil it untill the pasta is done)

Add the tomato paste, and you're done!

The chorizo gives this sauce it's taste, it's become one of my go-to recipes.

Dumb question: do jumps done on roller skates count? Or only ones where we can get our knees up high?

 

If you're doing tuck jumps (or one of the other specified jump types) and tucking to the best of your ability, I don't care if you're on skates, in shoes, barefoot, etc.  If you're doing some other type of jump on your skates, then no, they don't count. :D

 

For this time of year, why not pumpkin?  [/troll]

Stuffed Acorn Squash

Review

This was pretty easy to pull together - acorn squash, ground beef, bacon, onion & apple (plus many spices).  Mine came out kinda dry but I'm not the greatest cook out there plus I was distracted by my boys and think I let it bake to long.  But it was warm and filling and yummy.  And - bonus! for my gum graft surgery recovery - it was very soft!  

 

I have a ton of leftovers since none of my boys would be brave and try some.  this morning i put 1/2 cup of the stuffing into my scrambled eggs - good times.  I might dump another cup into some broth later this afternoon for a soup.  Or get some more squash (maybe this time Delicata striped squash?) and have another stuffed squashy bowl for dinner.

 

For points I marked the Yoshi Completion box Yes and Level complete 1.  I hope that is correct, I was following the model.

Well, they would be tuck jumps if I had more strength and/or better balance on my skates.  As it is, I only get a couple of inches off the ground.  I guess that counts?

Guys, I didn't think I'd have to say this, but putting a "1" for level complete when you've completed less than 100 jumps is basically cheating. :(  The sheet will autofill the 1 once you've done >100, so the yellow columns take care of themselves.

 

I've reset the formulas and locked those columns down so hopefully the issue shouldn't repeat itself in the future. :)

Question for the boss lady:

If there are people on teams who may be struggling with jumps and don't have time to cook, can their team stockpile jumps for them?

  • Each participant may complete the level only once.  You may not pool reps for your teammates (i.e. teammate A cannot add to teammate B's score).  Once you have finished your reps, you are free to continue past the limit and you may earn a special item going into the next challenge, but 100 reps is all that is necessary to earn points for your team.

 

We have had many minis in the past where one or two ambitious members have carried whole teams to victory by posting amazing numbers.  This is not one of them. :D
