Mike_d85
I took Thursday off since I gave blood. I woke up, got dressed, looked down at the hole in my arm and thought "wait... deadlifts make me dizzy sometimes if I DIDN'T lose a pint of blood." And it just seemed like a really good idea to go lie back down. I also ended up missing a run because when I walked outside lightening started up. CHEST 1 2 3 4 Bench Press (12, 10, 8, 6) 15x50 12x70 7x90 5x90 Dumbbell Pull Over (4x10) 10x35 10x35 10x40 10x40 Land Mine Press (4x10) 10x35 10x60 10x60 10x60 Push Up (3x10) 10 10 12 Skull Crushers (4x10) 10x20 6x30 10x20 STRETCH Feeling good. Liking that bench press for the moment. I got a little carried away on the lighter weights so I need to let things work out a little better. I was in the shower before I realized I'd forgotten to stretch. Quote My Battle Log I'm on Strava for my running now. Check out Kick! too. You unlock gear with your progress on Strava. Mike_d85
I just realized I could rate this topic. This five-star amazing topic. Because I'm rad. 10k run this weekend, No gym this morning because I'm flying out of town tonight and I wanted a little more time with the Mrs. I did work out in the basement though. SHOULDERS 1 2 3 4 Shoulder Press (4x10) 20x20 20x20 15x20 20x20 Bayonette Thrusts (4x15) 15x20 15x20 15x20 Lateral Raises (3x15) 10x20 15x15 15x15 Goblet Squats (4x15) 15xkettle 15xkettle 15xkettle 15xkettle Side Squats (3x15) STRETCH I made a nutrition plan, but it wasn't working too hot for me. The way I've been eating I'm not getting enough calories and too many carbs based on my high-fat diet, but I've gained 10 pounds since stopping marathon training so I need to re-evaluate my caloric intake overall. I'm probably still short on my protein (a little less that 1g per pound) and a little high on the carbs vs fats. I've also discovered that pumpkin mixed with yogurt is both delicious and obscenely filling. 1 Quote My Battle Log I'm on Strava for my running now. Check out Kick! too. Mike_d85
Got a dog, all exercise gone to hell. Managed nutritional plan and sticking to it though now I'm not burning as many calories... Oh well. Trying to get some runs in through the week, but weightlifting is right out with the new dog. She has to learn the area and our schedule. Also not peeing on the kitchen floor would be nice. Quote My Battle Log I'm on Strava for my running now. Check out Kick! too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk She's about a year and a half old goof ball. She's some kind of hound. We think she might be a Treeing Walker Coonhound. After some googling last night basically any of the variety of hound she is requires 1-2 hours of vigorous exercise daily because all of the kinds of fox/coon hound that look like her are bred to run down animals in the woods all day. I accidentally adopted a super awesome running partner! Also, I might be a huge redneck. 1 Quote My Battle Log I'm on Strava for my running now. Check out Kick! too. Mike_d85
I ran about 4k last night. She did great once I got her about a 1/2 k in up until she was running single file with me because I was practically dragging her. She slept though. hehehe. 1 Quote My Battle Log I'm on Strava for my running now. Check out Kick! too. You unlock gear with your progress on Strava. Link to comment

Mike_d85
Y was closed yesterday so I went in this morning. Trying something new that I looked up yesterday online and I expected it to be easy peasy. It was not, but I don't feel like I normally do after lifting. More like I did rugby training than strength training. Kind of neat. Oops. I got this from bodybuilding.com it's what they recommend for marathon training so I figured I'd give it a shot for a month and see how I feel. I did switch the Bent Over Rows to Dumbbell Rows and added the curls on the end (the whole regiment has no arm work). I might re-shuffle the order I do things in so that it matches the layout of the gym better. 1 Quote My Battle Log I'm on Strava for my running now. Check out Kick! too. Mike_d85
I've been getting the pup out to the tune of 3k per night this week. I need to get a little more distance in but the weather's been nasty the past few days. High winds and light rain do not make for great running conditions. I made a terrible mistake on Monday though. The dog hadn't gone to the bathroom when we started running so I was letting her sniff grass in the hopes she would go while we ran. Yesterday despite going 1 and 2 before going she decided she had permission to stop and smell at every single thing she desired. I spent a good quarter of my run dragging her because she decided runs include sniffing everything she comes across. *sigh* Also, there are chicken bones all over my neighborhood. WTH, pedestrians? Day 1 - 10/25/17 Squats (2x8) 8x60k 8x65k Overhead Press (2x8) 8x20k 1x25, 4x22k 4x22k Trapbar Deadlift (2x8) 8x70k 8x75k Dumbbell Row (2x8) 8x55# 8x55# Bench (2x8) 8x70# 7x80# Preacher Curls (3x15) STRETCH/TOWEL I noticed that the gym provided towels smell vaguely gross. On another note, best dog story ever...we were walking and she was looking at another dog across the street (like totally fixated), turned around JUST in time to walk headfirst into a mailbox post. She doesn't look around as much these days. Keep up the work! Mike_d85
I'm still sticking out doing the bodybuilding.com marathon routine for the next two weeks. I'm starting to really look forward to changing up what I'm doing lifting, but I'm so taxed with the new dog and holidays that I'm not feeling the creativity. I know I'm doing a 12-week bulking plan starting the new year and I know my lifting is going to be spotty the next two months while I get used to running 3 miles 4 days a week and doing 12 mile long runs. I guess I'll have to find a more complicated program to follow in the meantime. Anyways, I had a really good day this morning. I don't know why but I felt particularly strong and upped the weight on just about everything. I did have to short my mountain climbers because I had to go to the bathroom though.
