Tink's Epic Quest to make a 180 in his life!

This quest actually started Jan 2, 2014 when my mom passed away at the age of 57. Ever since then I've been on a quest to better myself in various areas of my life. I have succeeded at some, failed at others, working on many, and have many more I want to accomplish. I quit smoking in June of 2014, went back to school in the summer of 2014 in which I will graduate from community college this spring (!!!), gotten a decent job that is not retail or food service, maintained a budget since this past September, and have basically gotten myself on the right track. I still have a lot more to do but I want to set some goals and track them here.

 

Weight:

- Starting at 6'7" and ~330 lbs.

- Get below 300 lbs.

- Get below my weight when I quit smoking of 270 lbs.

- Get down to a healthy weight for my height of 240 lbs.

 

Mind:

- Go to a doctor and a psychologist or psychiatrist or whatever and get on a plan to manage anxiety, stress, and depression. (Have first DR appointment on January 11th!!)

- Become more self-confident and make more friends.

- Eventually start practicing Yoga and other mindful exercises.

 

Diet:

- Make diet a priority. Track my calories. Eat better. Cook more!

- Talk to a doctor to find the right diet for me.

- Quit soda once and for all. Nothing. Nada!

 

Fitness:

- Finally do the Couch to 5K. 

- Exercise at least 3 days a week.

 

 

Miscellaneous Goals:

- Get fit enough to be on Survivor or Big Brother!

- Complete an obstacle 5k!

- Get myself in a position to where I can buy a house/condo by the end of 2016!

 

This post is a mess but these are what I brain stormed so far. I have a lot I want to accomplish still and it's scary, but I just want to be able to live a decent life!

GOAL 1 - Track all calories in MyFitnessPal|GOAL 2 - In bed by 11PM, out of bed by 7 AM|GOAL 3 - No more Soda!!


SIDE QUEST - Put an extra $100 towards debt.

I have a lot I want to accomplish still and it's scary, but I just want to be able to live a decent life!

 

I resemble this statement.

 

I'm currently in the process of writing my goals that I want to achieve in the next few years and we have some similar plans :-)

Two things I'm finding helpful are:

 

1. Breaking down a goal as much as possible and putting dates each step needs to be achieved by.

 

2. Doing all the research and prep work I can now before my brain "officially" starts working towards the goals. Things like recipes to try, budget out how I'm going to afford a house, etc.

 

Your post seems not so much of a mess to me :-) Good luck!

Exactly! I need to have my brain in it for at least a week or two before I just jump into something.
