Lita
Introduction: This is my first challenge! You can read my Battle Log here to learn more about me and my daily life, but the basics are that I'll be turning 26 on the very last day of this challenge, I'm a fitness blogger and a photographer, I work as a stripper, and I was a dance major back in college. I'm hoping that this challenge will keep me on track for working on my flexibility, which I've tried to improve for years but always let fall by the wayside pretty quickly. I'm also mostly recovered from disordered eating behaviours, so my goals may be a bit more vague than others because I don't let myself focus on calorie or weight numbers.Main Quest: Feel better, physically and mentally, about myself and my body by the end of winter.Quest 1: Do at least 20 minutes of yoga or stretching a day, at least 4 days a week.Measurement:A = 4 days a weekB = 3 days a weekC = 2 days a weekF = 0-1 day(s) a weekQuest 2: Drink at least 8 cups of water a day, averaged weekly.Measurement:A = averaging 8+ cups a dayB = averaging 6+ cups a dayC = averaging 4+ cups a dayF = averaging less than 4 cups a dayQuest 3: Increase upper body strength by doing 20 push-ups a day of any variety.Measurement:A = do push-ups 7 days a weekB = do push-ups 5+ days a weekC = do push-ups 4+ days a weekF = do push-ups fewer than 4 days a weekLife Quest: Go to two dance/aerials/fitness classes during the challenge. I want to try new things!Measurement:Pass = do 2+ classes during challengeFail = do fewer than 2 classesMotivation: I felt fantastic in college, my ED notwithstanding. I did yoga, Pilates, and numerous dance classes, and I ate more vegetables than I do now. I felt powerful, I was strong, and I miss feeling that way. I've always wanted to be a superhero-type person, nimble and agile and good, all while caring for myself and the people around me. 4 Quote LitaWood Elf Recruit | Level Zero|| STR 0 || DEX 0 || STA 0 || CON 0 || WIS 0 || CHA 0 |||| Battle Log || Challenges: current || Link to comment

Lita
Thanks everyone! I'm really excited to take two classes, as well. I've done a huge variety of classes, but it's been a long time and sadly, my area doesn't offer much off the beaten path. The city has a fantastic dance studio, a million yoga places, and a rock climbing place (which I don't do due to my very nice fingernails) and that's about it. The silks teacher in the area moved out of state last summer, so now aerial classes might require me to drive down to Chicago. Good excuse for a road trip, right? 2 Quote LitaWood Elf Recruit | Level Zero|| STR 0 || DEX 0 || STA 0 || CON 0 || WIS 0 || CHA 0 |||| Battle Log || Challenges: current || Link to comment

Lita
It's going great! I'm averaging over 8 glasses of water a day, I've done yoga every day this week, and I've completed my push-ups every day. An aerialist friend of mine from the Chicago area is contacting people she knows to try to find classes in my area, otherwise she can suggest good classes in Chicago. And I'm thinking about taking a Krav Maga class as well. 4 Quote LitaWood Elf Recruit | Level Zero|| STR 0 || DEX 0 || STA 0 || CON 0 || WIS 0 || CHA 0 |||| Battle Log || Challenges: current || Link to comment
Kagetsukai
Krav Maga, eh? You just may have said my magic word It's on my Epic Quest list for this year! Along with capoeira and BJJ. There's this place I found that does a free intro class every month, so once I have a car again, I can go and get my butt handed to me Sounds like fun, don't you think? Btw. I used to live in Chicago so I am incredibly impressed you are willing to travel from Milwaukee to get to an aerial class. Talk about dedication! You have it in spades. I was looking through your goals and it seems they align with what I like to do as well, so I figured I could hang out with you and perhaps help you along as you crush this challenge I'm an Ambassador for the Assassin Guild and we like to do everything and anything, esp. if it involves hanging off of things, climbing, pushing, and cat GIFs. Lita
I've been lurking in the Assassin threads since I joined! Aerials, body weight workouts, and agility... totally my thing. A few friends of mine did Krav Maga years ago, and I love the combination self-defense/martial arts of it. I have friends that do MMA and stuff like that, but that's a bit too brutal for me. Thanks, but no thanks. 3 Quote LitaWood Elf Recruit | Level Zero|| STR 0 || DEX 0 || STA 0 || CON 0 || WIS 0 || CHA 0 |||| Battle Log || Challenges: current || Link to comment
Lita
Yesterday was the first day all week that I haven't done yoga. I really just needed the extra sleep. But I'm already noticeably more flexible! I was also way too stressed out from work yesterday to do my push-ups, but I can still shoot for a B on that quest. It was just so crazy yesterday (think screaming on the phone, a panic attack, and some jealous bitching in the dressing room, and gossip and no money out in the club) that I was wading through that all day. By the time I got home, I needed to eat some pizza, cry, and compare cats in Neko Atsume with my boyfriend. 1 Quote LitaWood Elf Recruit | Level Zero|| STR 0 || DEX 0 || STA 0 || CON 0 || WIS 0 || CHA 0 |||| Battle Log || Challenges: current || Link to comment

It might be worth youtubing some video's about proper body position/form and see if you're doing them right. Just a thought. Just a thought.I've been taking a bit more care with them the past couple days. It's hard for me to place my hands correctly when doing kneeling push-ups because your body moves forward more than the simple down movement in a standard push-up. But today, making sure I set my hands a little closer to me to start, they're easier. Still not easy, but better than they have been. 1 Quote LitaWood Elf Recruit | Level Zero|| STR 0 || DEX 0 || STA 0 || CON 0 || WIS 0 || CHA 0 |||| Battle Log || Challenges: current || Link to comment

I've been having a hard time sleeping (and for the first time my usual melatonin gave me a really creepy nightmare) so I didn't do as much yoga, since that requires me to wake up early or to actually have energy after work. Push-ups are getting a little easier; I actually did 12 kneeling push-ups in a single set the other day! I haven't been getting enough protein or sleep lately, so it's difficult just to get through 10 minutes of yoga, let alone 20 or more. Also, I think I'm gonna fail the new classes part of my quest. The past few weeks have been really terrible at work (like, work for 7.5 hours and go home with $7 sort of terrible) and I just can't afford to spend money on classes when I'll need that money for the energy bill. But that's okay. It's my birthday this Friday and on Saturday, Erik and I are gonna spend the day together, maybe getting brunch, maybe getting pizza at the place we got dinner on our first date, 100% chance of watching Lazer Team. Gosh those are so terrible and hard, it's such a major accomplishment when it actually happens.
