Liubochka
Hi all! I've tried this before and while I usually did great for the first 3 weeks, I'd then fizzle out. The six-week challenge was just too long for me. So I'm hoping this year I have success with the shorter format. I'm part of the NF Academy and have been more active on the Women's FB page recently. I'm hoping that with support from here and the tricerasisters from the NFA group I'll kick ass in 2016. I'm also blogging about my year wth a focus on my health and weight loss journey and organizing. With old school paper planners. I don't know how many challenges I've disappeared halfway through, and at this point, I'm afraid to find out. The new four-week format looks promising, hopefully it will help keep us around. Liubochka
January 4 Day 1 is (almost) in the books! I'm in California so I still have a little bit left of my work day, BUT I've tracked my food for the day (will add snacks if i have them later). Went to the gym over lunch and did a 15 minute warm up on the treadmill and then did the Nerd Fitness Academy Dumbbell 1A workout. I need to put on my big girl panties and explore the big weight room (instead of the little stretching area) as I'll need to use heavier weights than are available where I was today. Plan-to do this BEFORE the students come back (I work at a university) so that I feel more confident there when its swarming with 18 year olds. ALSO-made HUGE improvements at home over the weekend with food prep, throwing out junk food, and moving my "Nest" space (basically my studio/office) to a whole room just for me (instead of sharing with my partner and using a couch). Wrote more about it on the blog, but I'm super happy with the changes so far even though we have a lot of work still to do. Liubochka
Rocking day two! I've tracked my food for today, except for the dinner I'm eating tonight. We're eating with friends and my focus will be on enjoying the company and NOT OVEREATING. Asking my boyfriend to support me (and I'll support him) in this tonight. Almost skipped my planned cardio workout today after a failed battle with a fax machine (who FAXES in 2016?!?) but went and happy I did. Decluttering didn't really happen last night, as I snuggled with my kittehs in the nest and read a book. And it was delightful and just what my soul needed. 1 Quote Current ChallengeQuest 1-Track my food each day (27 days) 40.7%40.7% Quest 2-Complete 3 NFA strength workouts each week (12 workouts) 41.7%41.7% Quest 3-Complete 1 cardio workout each week (4 workouts) 50%50% Life Quest-Complete my January 2016 Declutter Challenge (20 challenges) 20%20% Blogging about my weight loss and fitness and organization adventure in 2016 at The Sprinkle Ninja. Liubochka
Yay for Friday! This first week back to work after the holiday break has been rough and I am VERY happy that today is Friday. Missed my yoga class on Wednesday, but I'm planning to do a NF Yoga Video over the weekend. Yesterday I ALMOST didn't go to the gym, but then I realized I'd missed my scheduled yoga on Wednesday and since we DON'T MISS TWO IN A ROW I went to the gym after work and did the NFA Dumbbell 1-B workout. I even went downstairs to where the weight room is, and found a spot right by the weights I needed in the hallway outside the room. At some point I'm thinking about getting a few sessions with one of the personal trainers to learn how to use the barbells so I can do the NFA Barbell workout! Not a ton of decluttering this week, but that's our plan for the weekend. Food tracking is going great, and it's definitely helping me! Liubochka
Week 2 is off to a great start. Tracking my food for the day already, and just got back from the gym and my Nerd Fitness Academy Dumbbell workout. I've now done each workout (A & twice now and am definitely feeling more confident. I went up on the weights slightly, and I can definitely feel lit a bit more! I'm happy I started with the very light weights, though, as I think I've done a better job avoiding DOMS this time. Liubochka
Everyday when I come back from the gym I come straight here to post. I want to see my numbers keep going up in my signature! I'm feeling frustrated today because I just want to be healthy NOW. I know it doesn't work that way. But gosh, wouldn't that be nice! Today I did my cardio workout. 35 minutes on the treadmill at an incline, with my favorite SVU detectives to keep me entertained. Food is tracked, too.
