My diet went great (except yesterday, when I got drunk & ate pizza... Damn you, alcohol.), but I had a horrible time waking up and working out!!!!! But on the bright side, I'm down to 179. Most of that is period bloat, but still, makes me feel good to see the number going down like that. Anyhow, where things stand right now, I'm in danger of failing the challenge 0.o So I'm going to do two things to try and remedy things. 1) Come on the forums more!! The community is here for a reason, I need to use it! So, I'm going to try to post EVERY DAMN DAY. I'll shoot for the morning. Either after my shower, or first thing after sitting down at my desk at work. I'll say how I did on my diet the day before, and on whether or not I exercised that morning. Please help me out with this! Knowing people are there for me will make a BIG difference! This is a rebel distress signal! 2) DOUBLE JEOPARDY. I don't want to lose zeal for passing the challenge by knowing that I cant really pull off a win at this point. SO. Week #3 is a week of redemption! Its score will be used as the score for Week #2 as well! NOW OR NEVER. In other, more random news, I was able to climb almost to the top of the gym in silks this week. Not a whole lot of point in getting up early with nowhere to go. So i just got up at a reasonable hour instead. And I did my run! Yay!! And I stretched afterwards. Woo. And then I spent the day with my new roommate, which was fun... but ended up meaning that I didnt get my diet points and stayed up way too late... So then I overslept this morning and didn't work out. Redemption week isnt going too great so far... Also, I did my workout when I got home from work, which was THE WORST THING EVER, but I did it. & it looks like I'm going to have to do that again today, because I have once again overslept I must be doing something wrong to keep oversleeping... Maybe I need to try to be in bed by 9pm, actually asleep by 10pm? Or maybe winter just sucks. Idk. LydiaJaybird Posted January 21, 2016 Author Report Share Posted January 21, 2016 Well I stayed good for calories yesterday, but not carbs & I was too tired after work to go running, so that just didnt happen. I did, however, play piano when I got home from work So I get half a point! This morning I didn't have a workout to do, because today is aerial silks day! So I'll have silks this evening. Ugh really not doing well... I'm starting to wonder if my idea of sticking to diet basics as I get back into the swing of things was correct, but if I'm still trying to do too much at once? Maybe next challenge I should pull back even more, and focus on either just the diet or just working out in the morning, and then once I've got one of those down solid, add the other element in in a separate challenge. It would take longer, but its faster than constantly trying to do EVERYTHING & failing to do any of it right. Also, I took a look at my sleep cycle app, and noticed that at 6am (which is when I'm trying to wake up) I'm almost always in deep sleep, only to be jolted out of it by my alarm. So I either need to start going to bed much earlier, like at 9pm, which I dont think I could do, or start waking up either earlier or later. Later isnt really an option - I wouldn't have time to work out and shower before work - but the idea of waking up earlier is 1) kind of counter intuitive and 2) moderately horrifying. It's been one year since I started pole dancing, and later added aerial silks. So I'm going to still give myself credit for my diet, b/c an aeriversary is a special occasion! Also, happy aeriversary to me, I hurt my knee in class Not bad, but I definitely tore, pulled, or strained something. I can feel it when I'm walking, and its suuuper tight today. So until that feels better, I'm going to take it easy. Just stretching when I get up, no running or leg workouts. I'll still do abs and arms though. So, obviously, I did not go running this morning. Just stretched. But hey! I got up! It took me a while to get out of bed, which I need to work on, but I got up! Ice can help the inflammation calm down quicker after an injury. (I find this guide helpful for how long and if I should ice).
