r7rok
Find the right gym and not going becomes the hard part! Only 1 Gym where I am - no choice really but it ain't bad. Have a haematoma on my leg at the moment, which is the big problem, want to go in and get some big lifts down but worried the leg won't like it, before I had it I loved training, just need to get out of my own way and get it done. r7rok
Late with the reporting today. Today has been a mixed bag. For good reason. My mrs is away for the weekend for a friends birthday, and her little boy is away to his dads for night. It's very rare I get a night to myself and my plan was to do a bodyweight workout then have some nerd time playing video games. Then my colleague text me to ask if I fancied going for a curry and poker night with the lads, couldn't really say no! Water goal was on track for the day and as Koaladle says, after 5 days I am definitely feeling the good of it. Food obviously is slightly over the budget with takeaway curry. Made the bold and wise move of taking boiled rice over the pilau, I can count that as a small win can't I? Total calories for day are about 500 out of budget roughly, but hard to pass up the opportunity of a guilt free lads night, plus I won some cash money at the poker To counterbalance this I refused to go on the beer and walked the mile or so to the poker game and back. Fitbit looking good for the day 11300 steps til midnight plus 2081 in the last half hour since midnight, 71 Active minutes and 6.5 Miles. Definite Win. Also decided to cut the bullshit and get in tomorrow and lift, if the leg doesnt like it, I can say I tried. Will check in tomorrow. Rok Out. 4 Quote Link to my Current Challenge Here Please follow me and show support on MFP and Fitbit Challenge - 1 2Epic goal of losing 50 pounds this year Link to comment
Koaladle
A small win is still a win! Considering that you don't get the chance to head out very often, I would count this as a treat and buckle back down. You made a lot of really good choices about going out (the walking, no beer, boiled rice) and that is a big step in the right direction. You also did a lot of walking, and that is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaantastic! 13,381 steps during your waking hours? Quote Koaladle Current Challenge Daily Battle Log Link to comment

r7rok
Another day done. Water consumption continuing along just nicely on track for 3L today, noticing the headaches less and less the more hydrated I am, funny that isn't it? Food is in under budget again 1369 for the day, should make up for my indian takeout last night. I am also delighted to report that I got back in to the gym today and got some lifting done. Wasn't sure where I would be in terms of strength as it has been a couple of months since I last went. Workout was as follows: 5 x 5 40kg/90lbs Bench Press5 x 5 40kg/90lbs Barbell Row5 x 5 60kg/130lbs Squat. Workout was tough without being too difficult so maybe up it a bit more. That being said my muscles are screaming at me so something must have went well, didn't feel much in my dodgy leg whilst squatting but since I got home I haven't had full range of motion in it so will see how it is tomorrow. 3 Quote Link to my Current Challenge Here Please follow me and show support on MFP and Fitbit Challenge - 1 2Epic goal of losing 50 pounds this year Link to comment

Be sure to always have a full warmup and cooldown; keep hydrating, take a hot bath with epsom salts, and if you have a couple extra pounds invest in a foam roller. petefeet
Just checking up ROK, but you seem to have connected to some of the gang here and are in good company. Good job on the water intake, that can be a challenge for a lot of people here. The way it was explained to me is thus: "Water is to you body, as oil to a car's engine, and you won't run your engine dry would you?" Once I thought about that way, it started to make sense. 2 Quote Race: Halfling Class: Rebel Recruit 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th 11th 12th 13th 14th 15th Current Challenge Writer's Guild Fictionfirst Used Books (Feel free to like my page!) r7rok
That DOMS though? Forgot what a bitch DOMS is, you should see me trying to get in and out of the car today, wow! Anyways, challenge is going well again today, Water consumption logged it at 2L so far for the day and theres a couple of hours running time left before I head to bed. Food was a bit dodgy in terms of choices, (went to my mums for lunch, and well she doesnt want me to lose further weight and is trying to plump me up again, I think) all in all still well within my budget today with a cal count of 1514. No gym today as was there yesterday tried to get out and walk a bit today though steps showing at 9536 with 4.55 miles and 65 active minutes, so will be sure to pace around abit before bed too. Of course as it's sunday night it's meal prep night and decided to make healthy chicken pad thai as found here. Tastes delicious and with the bit of upscaling for extra portions and lack of red pepper MFP works it out at around 441 cals per serving. Looking forward to it. Reflecting back on week one I think it has been very succesful all in all, 58516 steps with an average of 8536 per day, on track with water budget everyday and under budget with the food bar the day I had takeout. Plus I got back in the gym and some lifting, hoping the scales show downward tomorrow but we will see how it goes. How have your first weeks got on then folks? 3 Quote Link to my Current Challenge Here Please follow me and show support on MFP and Fitbit Challenge - 1 2Epic goal of losing 50 pounds this year Link to comment

Your daily logging is putting us to shame I'll be following back and watching you kick ass! Thanks for you support. I'm finding the daily logging so relaxing, gives me the chance to reflect on the day, and putting it in black and white helps me to see how well I did today against how I thought I did, and how I can be that 1% better tomorrow. Also if I wasn't doing this I can guarantee I wouldn't have as much drive as I have this time around. 3 Quote Link to my Current Challenge Here Please follow me and show support on MFP and Fitbit Challenge - 1 2Epic goal of losing 50 pounds this year Link to comment

anaisninexpand
My mrs makes me egg muffins to snack on. Fry off or boil some veggies of your choice. Use leftover or cook meat of your choice. Then make an omelette mix with 6 eggs and some milk. Tablespoon of meat and veggies into each muffin 'hole' in a muffin tin, fill to top with egg mixture, add a pinch of cheese to each, then bake for twenty minutes in the oven. Each batch lasts in the first for a week. Loads of protein and less than 100 cals per muffin. Most importantly they taste awesome These sound incredible! I will definitely be making them... do they taste very "eggy"? Haha I have a fairly strong dislike for eggs, but I'm always trying to find ways to prepare them that I find edible, because they are such an excellent protein source! I'm impressed with your batch meals, I would like to start trying that eventually, too. Just keep kicking ass, man! 2 Quote "The best place to find a helping hand, is at the end of your own arm" First Challenge Link to comment

r7rok
So I stepped on the scales today and I am 1 pound lighter than I was last week which is awesome. Water as usual on track, food logged for day at 1573 so well under budget again. Steps was a bit of a nightmare today as my fitbit appeared to die on me without warning, I have probably done closer to 7k but only tracking at 1.7k for the day. Pad thai was so nice for lunch at only 441 cals. Still feeling DOMS bad today, every few steps I take my legs almost seem to buckle, but it's a good pain. Peace has been shattered here as the other half is back from her weekend away but all in all a good day. 5 Quote Link to my Current Challenge Here Please follow me and show support on MFP and Fitbit Challenge - 1 2Epic goal of losing 50 pounds this year Link to comment

Koaladle
I had that same issue with my Fitbit a couple of months ago, and since have decided to keep extra batteries next to the little tab thing to open it. I have the ultra basic one, so battery replacement is a thing. Apparently the fancy versions can get charged, which sounds like a nightmare to a technophobe Koaladle.
