Monday: Swim (interval); Run (interval)Tuesday: Bike (easy); StrengthWednesday: Bike (easy); StrengthThursday: Bike (interval)Friday: RestSaturday: Run (tempo); StrengthSunday: Bike (long); Run (transition) I just did my first triathlon at the beginning of December and it just happened to be a full distance. I got that out of my system, but I do really enjoy racing. I decided to do something more reasonable, so I signed up for two Olympic distance tri's. One in June and one in September. I created that spreadsheet with the initial intention of starting a challenge with some of my family and friends, but they just aren't that into spreadsheets or something. Since I spent a crap ton of time on it, I figured I would try to salvage it and create a PVP. You can find it HERE if interested. It is probably much to elaborate for the purposes of a PVP here, but I figured I would try. Considering signing up for the challenge. charlomechfry
Well, you pulled out the "DO ALL THE THINGS" meme in your first Ranger post... Definitely in the right guild. Ha! Seemed fitting. Now to see if I actually "DO ALL THE THINGS" or pull an all too typical Considering signing up for the challenge. Sweeet! Maxin' out the Health!! I was actually considering changing it up to better suite a Nerd Fitness PVP. It was made with specific Goals/Quests in mind, but that is a 4 week challenge in and of itself and really limits the participation of the many peeps at different stages of their journey. So I was thinking, to make it more compatible, I will change each task (Be Positive, Nutrition, Fitness, Water, Sleep) to just Personal Goal #1, Personal Goal #2, etc. Each day you achieve your goal for each task, you earn yourself a Health Point... or Heart, or Carrot, or Gold, or... ooo, I can make a separate column for each player to choose what they are playing for. I could earn 4 kittens a day if I wanted to... What do you think? I am open to suggestions/ideas. I tend to overthink things sometimes (most of the times). 3 Quote Link to comment

charlomechfry
Sorry I kept you figiting in anticipation for the whole day! The wait is over and you can soon get back your normal daily life.Thank you both for keeping me on my toes, I will need it for sure. Day 1:Nutrition - This one will actually be my easy goal as my wife and I have been on the 'paleo' diet for 2 years now. Actually started Jan. 2014... cool. This is one habit, however, that I do not want to go back on. I have always been 'healthy' and active, but this one change has made a profound improvement in how I feel. I have always had issues with depression... MUCH improved. Much more level headed. Used to have issues with low blood sugar if I didn't eat (no diabetes)... non existent now. Had a severe onset of concentration problems as I got older... finally finished my Bachelor Degree after 13 years of struggles. Even my fitness has been off the charts, comparatively, and I have always been 'fit'. Don't mean to sound like I am preaching, but it has worked wonders for me. I can only hope that it will make this kind of difference, or more, for the many others giving it a try. Anyway, I am tired and I talk a lot when I am tired haha. Nutrition was on par for day 1. FULL POINTS Yay! Fitness - Meh. Didn't happen. Not because of a lack of trying to squeeze it in tho. I got a LOT of everything else done, ha. Luckily, I have an extra day built in, so FULL POINTS Yay!! Water - Wasn't really paying attention as it had been nixed from my goals at the time, but I am 100% certain I did not get my recommended amount. No Freebie Points for this one because I was 100% at fault all around. NO POINTS for me!! Sleep - I went to bed on time for the first time in a long time, even with a baby, Woo Hoo! I also kept my computer time to my set limit, Hot Dame!! FULL POINTS! That was a little more long winded than is needed, but Day 1 was a great start, despite missteps in Fitness and Water. I will just go ahead and knock out Day 2 while I am here. Day 2:Nutition - Golden! Don't foresee any problems occurring before bed. FULL POINTS!!Fitness - 1 hour on bike for commute. Cardio, Check. Still no strength, but I have time this week to complete it. FULL POINTS!!Water - Killing it so far, just a couple sips away from completing. FULL POINTS!!Sleep - *sigh* woke up at 1:30 and didn't go back to sleep. Which doesn't break the rules technically, but I hung out on the computer until 4 until I had to get ready for work. And then I took a couple more hours on the computer at work. FAIL! NO POINTS. Time to get serious! I have fallen behind in the MAX Health Challenge, but I intend on winning darnit!! Sleeping Beauty here I come! Quote Link to comment

charlomechfry
Yay update!!!! I should go back on Paleo. I felt so good! *sigh* The struggle is real. You should! Sooo worth it! And yes, always a struggle. Junk is whack, like crack. You gotta make your crack dealer disappear Epic is all I can say...just epic! Haha, thanks! I haven't lived up to the epicness yet, but it is coming! Oh it is coming... I enjoy hearing about your own epicness! Brrrr.... 19 degrees... ugh! Nice start to the challenge! I think limiting computer time for sleep time is super hard! I have the same issues. Thanks! Haha, yeah, it is certainly an issue. Tho, unfortunately one that I think I will have to try tackling next challenge. I am going to focus just cutting the computer an hour prior to bed time and try to set a good schedule for bedtime. Limiting my computer use through the day is not happening at the moment. Worse than sugar. Yo! My pull up and push up buddy! I'm totally going to spy on your progress in this thread How old is your little girl? My daughter is almost 18months old now... I definitely understand what you meant by "taking time to adjust" in your opening paragraph. Waz Up!! Stoked to see you here! Now I am going to have to up my game. She is coming up on 4 months. I saw a couple pics on your forums of your daughter when she was a wee little one... SO PRECIOUS! (and I don't use that word often, except for maybe the one ring to rule them all). But yes, I am totally in love and enjoying fatherhood and all the adjustments to come with it. Motivation to stay in shape so the boys will think twice before talking to my daughter haha. charlomechfry
Not much to report on really for Days 3 and 4. I have been sick and struggling, but staying positive and ready to get my game face on. Day 3 (1/6/16)Nutrition: FULL POINTS!No problems. Fitness: FULL POINTS!Forgot to set the alarm, so had to drive to work. Ended up with no cardio. Last rest day allowed for cardio for the week. I did get a couple exercises in (even not feeling good).I will use the following 1 set maxes to determine the amount of reps I will use in my weekly full body routine.Pull-ups: 22Straight Bar Dips: 6Push-ups: 55Front Lever Row (tuck knees): 8 Water: FULL POINTS! Sleep: Fail!Got to bed by bed time again, but too much computer through the day Day 4 (1/7/16)Nutrition: FULL POINTS!This is my cheat day. Still sick and the wife bought me soup and crackers, and so I obliged. Since it was my cheat day, I decided to take this time to make the left over marshmallows, for a poker party on new years, disappear. We used up all the graham crackers, so I used saltines for smores. They were so good! Fitness: Fail. An acceptable fail, but still no points.Drove to work since I was not feeling good and didn't have it in me to battle the rain. Did nothing fitness wise, other than my normal walking (maybe a 5 mile day?) at work. Water: Full Points!I cut it close, but a cup of tea set me over. Sleep: Full Points! Technically.Don't really deserve full points, but this will be one of my late nights. I got around 8 hours of sleep once I finally got to bed. I didn't want to sleep because I didn't want to feel sick again. Stayed up till I crashed, and thankfully woke up feeling MUCH better. The big decision came when I decided to ditch my daily computer use part of this goal. Not ready for that commitment yet. Hopefully by next challenge I will be ready. In the mean time, I need to focus on my bedtime and being sure I am off the computer an hour prior, along with my other goals. Ready to finish off the week strong! Let's do this!! 2 Quote Link to comment
