Sunmage
Hey, I have started getting my Shit together about 4 years ago. Sometimes I feel I reached nothing. Actually I did, but I lack consistency. So I have to start with the foundation. And Work on live issues parallel. My Mission for this year is to become a sucessful and adult version of myself. Here are my goals: Complete my daily Tasks This worked well for me for the last challenge and I will continue it Improve my body There will be 2 or 3 WOD's a week depending on my schedule. Week 1 will be 2. Work on myself I am currently working on "Tame your Outer Child" by Susan Anderson. I need to overcome my habit of instant gratification to gain success. A bag of chips won't make me feel better. But I do it anyway when I feel empty enough. Get rid of Energy Suckers No TV. I unplugged it and it will stay that for the whole challenge. Also no Movies via Computer! Keep a Tasklist to reduce procrastination Take the consequences of previous F*ckups and deal with the situation. Declutter. Sell stuff There is a lot to do. And a lot to reach. My procrastination and fears nearly costed me my job. Time to learn how to hard work and actually earn success. Oh and I will keep away from Dating until I get my stuff together. That will be at least this challenge. This will be hard for me, but I tend to focus on other peoples problems if I don't. Quote Fate whispers to the warrior: "You cannot withstand the storm." Ambisagrus
Sunmage -- good stuff! I resonate with much of what you write, and it's always good to see you in the forum. LOVE the idea of actually unplugging the TV - simple but powerful. Also interested in your procrastination techniques...I use the task list and pomodoro method these days. Somehow, breaking big projects down to 15-minute blocks helps me 'just do it.' All the best! auntdinosaur
I've started using a list, too. It's been so helpful. I even spent a little Christmas money on new colored pencils to make my lists and doodles even more satisfying. That book sounds interesting. Let us know how you like it. Good luck on your challenge!! 1 Quote Battle Log: [auntdinosaur] unstuck in time Link to comment
Ballad
Sounds great! I'll be following along and cheering you on. Looking forward to hearing about how the "no TV" challenge goes! Sunmage
Day 1 went great. The Trip was long, but successful. That means the Thesis I have been procrastinating about for 3 years is done. Yay! Just waiting for the grade and then I will get my degree. Just 10 months late =) During some spare time I already took care of the work doctor appointment I assigned myself for Tuesday. Also I decided to rearrange my couch since I won't be watching TV. There will be more room for foam rolling now. After looking below the pillows I had to start cleaning =). Now the Couch Sheets are in the laundry. Since the new arrangement looks silly with the TV around, I consider selling it. The price is not that bad.Researching and overthinking (Well rather feeling )that is now a new task on my list! I started listening to "7 Habits of Highly Effective people". A very interesting book, but hard to listen to while driving sometimes. The first part is much about stopping being reactive and blaming others. Guilty as charged. Its no challenge goal, but I am not getting good results at work... 2 Quote Fate whispers to the warrior: "You cannot withstand the storm." The old one was dripping for months. Now there will be some nice junk food and then I will work on myself and go to bed early. Thats 5,25 of 7 for week one. Week 2: There will be another work trip messing up my schedule on Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. I will plan as if it wouldn't exist and change plans later. Monday: Be early at work and clear procrastination fuckups from last week. In order to do that I need to be there before 7 AM...Tuesday: WODWednesday: Attend EMS Department meetingThursday: WODFriday: SHIRT, TYOCSaturday: No plans yetSunday: No plans yet 3 Quote Fate whispers to the warrior: "You cannot withstand the storm." Silverwitch
Just take one step after another! I think you are doing great. Your challenge list could easily be the one from my husband, if he were on NF … Thesis -- hey, once you've got your degree believe me that soon nobody will ask anymore WHEN you did. Important is: YOU DID GET IT! Keep going, I see a lot of good and promising stuff going on here! Quote FLUCTUAT NEC MERGITUR FUELED BY PALEO Link to comment

Sunmage
Trip went good. I feel into a deep hole of tiredness =)But thats ok. I just need to make the recreation process a little more useful. Actually this already was the first half of the challenge. Weird =) Week 2:Monday: 1Tuesday: I was tired or lazy. i don't remember actually. No Wod: 0Wednesday: Attend EMS Department meeting. Was nice. 1Thursday: Plan was WOD. Took the Trip instead. 1Friday: TRIP! Since I was to tired to attend a WOD I just hanged around and went for beers with a friend. 0,5Saturday: Had no plans. Did a WOD. 1Sunday: Had no plans. I feel drained, tired and sore. Watched movies and wasted time surfing instead doing useful recreation at least part time. 0 That leaves me with 4,5 of 7 for week 2.Quite improveable. BUT I SLAYED A DRAGON!I had several "Slay the THESISDRAGON" challenges a while ago. So this week contained an epic win! Week 3: My Goal will be to attend 3 WODs and get my shit together.I will substract 2 Points if I don't file my health insurance bills for 2015 until Friday.Monday: WODTuesday: WOD or TYOC or ShirtWednesday: WOD or TYOC or ShirtThursday: WODFriday: We will seeSaturday: Attend KI meeting and Reunite with a friendSunday: Probably recreation Quote Fate whispers to the warrior: "You cannot withstand the storm." Sunmage
I blew out my SI joint Monday to tuesday night. Probably caused by doing Bear complexes as WOD on Monday evening. It started less bad than last time, but now it is worse. Can't stand, walk, sit or lie down. But I got a recipe for manual therapy, so there will be a change quite soon.Of course this completely destroyed my schedule. But there is good nows: My documents came. I am now offically a graduated engineer equal to a Masters Degree... Monday: WODTuesday: I went to work and thats it.Wednesday: I went to work and couldn't move afterwards.Thursday: Went to the doctor and hung around useless the whole dayFriday: Have to go to the work. Points awarded for doing pigeon pose 3 timesSaturday: If its better: Attend KI meeting and Reunite with a friendSunday: Probably recreation Quote Fate whispers to the warrior: "You cannot withstand the storm."
