TheGreyJedi-Ranger Posted January 2, 2016 Report Share Posted January 2, 2016 Padawan Challenge #1 Hey guys! This is my first challenge as a Padawan and I'm supremely excited. So, several things have happened since last we spoke. First off, Christmas. I think so far I've managed to eat decently, but I haven't worked out much simply because there's not really been time until now. This challenge will get me back into the whole thing. I'm also hoping to start focusing more on my food stuff this challenge. I'm somewhat decent at this point, but not fantastic and I'm really hoping to get better about my choices. Another thing is that I cannot run outside anymore. After just a short time, my chest gets tight and I can't quite breathe right. This means that I cannot play Quidditch this semester, sadly enough. But I don't really have time to go to an allergist before school starts back again. Also, I really don't have time to play Quidditch. So I'll work on getting myself in nice flexible shape for my secret summer project. My focuses for this challenge are going to be food, strength, and yoga/flexibility. Goal 1- Food Log For this goal, I'm going to make sure I log all of what I eat every day. If I have a day where I end up binge eating, then instead of logging the food publicly, I will log what I was feeling when I decided to binge eat. I will keep a private food journal as well that will have the logs of the binge eating as well as the 'how I'm feeling' bits. Log all 28 days- A- +5 CON Log 23-27 days- B- +4 CONLog 21-26 days- C- +3 CONLog 12- 20 days- D +2 CONLog less than 12 days- F- No points :/ Log 23 or more days- +5XP Goal 2- Strength Training This is going to be about what it has been. I'm going to be doing the endurance lifting stuff since it gives me longer for my muscles to grow and I really like the plan I've been doing anyway. I've got time to do morning workouts twice a week again, so that'll be about what happens. I really want to build upper body strength, especially since my secret summer project requires lots of strength. 2 workouts/week almost every week- A- +3 STR2 workouts/week a couple weeks- C- +1 STRRare workouts- F- No points! 2 workouts every week unless school work gets in the way +5XP Goal 3- Yoga So one of the things I need for my secret summer project is bodyweight training and flexibility. Thus, I'm going to do yoga twice a week as well. Besides, yoga is a great opportunity for me to have 2 yogas/week- A- +4 DEX2 yogas most weeks- B- +3 DEX1 yoga most weeks- C- +2 DEXLess is fail 2 yogas most weeks +10XP Life Quest- Flexibility So with the flexibility, I'm going to try to make sure that I train my flexibility on the days that I'm not doing yoga or other workouts. My sister (a gymnast) has shown me a couple of things that I can do in the mornings to increase my flexibility like intro to splits and intro to bridges. 3x/week- A- +3DEX2x/week- B- +2DEX1x/week- C- +1 DEXRarely/never- no points At least 2 days where I remember to stretch per week- + 10XP So excited to get this challenge going! TheGreyJedi-Ranger Posted January 5, 2016 Author Report Share Posted January 5, 2016 Good morning! I did my stretches already and am quite pleased about them. Hopefully doing them regularly will help increase my flexibility. I am also SORE from my workout yesterday. I suspect that it has something to do with the fact that I hadn't gone to the gym in a while. Today, aside from my stretches, is a rest day. Tomorrow will be yoga and errands hopefully. Yesterday's food log:Salad(lettuce, pepperoni, cheese, garlic salt, croutons), piece of Parmesan chicken without any noodles, a rather large volume of potato chips (whoops), and dinner at Outback- a bit of buttered bread, bacon and cheese fries, mac and cheese, sandwich with prime rib, cheese, bacon, and onions, the last two or three bites of my bf's blooming burger(burger with pieces of a blooming onion on it) So overall not an excellent day, but it was the last time my bf and I will get a chance to eat out (most likely) together. Aside from going out with some friends to catch up on Thursday (Cookout- not healthy but delicious), I shouldn't be eating out any more this challenge unless it's related to the travelling back to school in the middle of the challenge. It's easier for me to stick to the plan if I know I have a special meal coming up.I am actually staying with my grandparents tonight (usually a mess of bread and unhealthy food) and I thought it might be nice if I cooked dinner for them instead. So I'm working through the cravings. I'm also having a cup of coffee instead of eating all the random foods. I season it with a pinch of salt, pepper, cayenne, and powdered garlic.I like Panko crumbs mostly. My mom was the one who suggested the time and temp, it helps me not have to wait so long. I haven't made that one yet :/ I found it in the ranger cooking thread ages ago. I'd say cook them ~20-25 mins or until a toothpick in the middle of one comes out clean- without batter on it.
