2016-01-11 Week 2 Day 1
Quest 1 Run every week
Boot camp today was a running based workout called "Magic Number Race Track"  

 

At the start of the workout you're given a number (mine was 16) and then we start running. There are 5 cones, you do suicides from the  next 4 cones BUT before returning  you do you magic number in burpees. You do this till you have gone to all 4 of the non-starter cones ... we then did it again but with squat thrusts rather than burpees  X_x
 

Quest 2 Keep swinging Kettle bells 
Got up this morning for 5AM kettle bells in 24­°F (-4°C). Tough weather to hold a kettle bell in.

 

Today's workout was 3 rounds, each round repeated 3 times with 30 seconds per exercise

Figure 8 to Hold

Single Arm Press-L/R

Alternating Swing Arm Swing

Press to Tricep extension

2016-01-13 Week 2 Day 3 Happy Birthday to me!
Quest 1 Run every week
Boot camp was Wall to Wall - I've talked about this one before. 

 

You run between two walls in the park and each wall you do a few exercises before running to the other one.

 

Today one of the walls was wall sits and the other was push ups and dips. Got in 2.6 miles of running so yeah :)

2016-01-16&17 Week 2 Day 6 & 7

Quest 1 Run every week

Saturday I ran 5 miles. Sadly I was going for 6 but tripped & fell at mile 5 and banged up my knee pretty good X_x

626 Orientation happened - weighed in at 235 and 24.7% body fat ... not sure on my goals yet but hoping to get into the 18% bf range if not lower

Weekend away with the wife ... we did NOT eat well ... yeah

2016-01-18 Week 3 Day 1

Quest 1 Run every week

My knee is still pretty messed up - slightly swollen and tender - so I went for a slow jog instead of going to boot camp which was a lot of kneeling and core :\

 

Quest 2 Keep swinging Kettle bells

626 kicked off with the triple cross in sub30°F temps

 

Kettlebell Triple Cross

Circuit 1 - done 4 times
25 KB swings
2 TGU L - modified to do only the first three parts of the TGU
2 TGU R - modified as above
25 Side V-Up L
25 Side V-Up R
 
Circuit 2 - done 3 times
10 KB Figure 8 to hold (5 each side)
10 V-Up
10 KB Bicep Curl to Overhead press to Tricep extension
10 Plank Knee to Elbow (5 each side holding for 2 sec at elbow)

Circuit 3 - done 2 times
5 Clean and press L - turned into a Snatch with my 40lb bell!
5 Clean and press R - as above
10 Up and Over

With 626 I'm trying to hit macros and calorie numbers - booze is right out!

Quest 1 Run every week


Ran a mile before boot camp!  Camp today was 10 Minutes of Hill a series of 10 minutes worth of hill repeats with other running, core and strenght thrown in.

Yesterday was 6 calories over my goal but my macros were perfect (50/25/25)


 


today is shaping up well currently carb heavy but that'll change as the day goes on.

Quest 1 Run every week

Camp today was Strength Around a running+strength workout out where you run a path (ours was 0.41mile) followed by a minute of strength/abs then do it again until your done! Managed to get in 2.8 miles!

 

Quest 2 Keep swinging Kettle bells

Tabotta style with 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off for 4 mintue rounds

  • Swing
  • Situp with weight to ground to overhead press 
  • High Pull - left
  • High Pull - Right
  • Squat to Overhead press

11 calories over but great on macros!

Quest 1 Run every week

No running today due to heavy rain - camp was shifted to more TRX based but we did LOTS of arms/shoulders as the workout was The Perfect Pushup my arms might not work for a while.

Yesterday was 18 calories over and macros were F33.8/C42.2/P24 Fat and Carbs were off due to having Salmon (yay fatty fish) for dinner.

Got my 626 assessment/assignment yesterday figured I'd share with the group.

 

 




Weight :

1-Nov 236.6lb / 16-Jan 234.6lb

 

Body Fat : 

1-Nov 28.7% / 16-Jan 24.7% 

 

Goal : Body Fat 18.00%

 


So I would love to see you break the 20% mark this time.  I think you can do it!  To reach your lean body fat level at your age, you need to get to 10%, which will take more than 6 weeks.  However, I do think we can get your under 20 this time!

 

Here is how:

1.       Set your goal to 2 pounds lost per week

2.       Eat to the line.

3.       Your workout routine

  • 626 and boot camp workouts

  • 2 mile run pre boot camp and TRX

  • Saturday – you need to get in at least 60 minutes of cardio and then 15 minutes of core work

  • Sunday- you should consider taking a yoga class or doing 40 minutes of yoga/core at home

Saturday was a semi rest day

 

Sunday I ran the HotChocolate 15K in 1:28:25(9:30 pace)with a 5K slipt of 26:44 (9:35 pace) and 10K split of 1:16:54(9:24 pace)
