fleaball
I recognize Carter, Xena, and is that P!nk with the silks? Not sure who the others are though. But I approve of gifs anyway! fleaball
Nerd cred. Aw yeah. You can edit your sig by going to my profile (click your icon next to where the notifications show up) > edit my profile > signature. You can toss links in there, progress bars, whatever. And you get the shield thingy at the bottom of the edit profile page, where it asks for your class. (I'm not sure how I got a shield as a rebel but okay.) Zho
Stargate! Aaaaa! I rarely find anyone else who likes it. Just the movie, or SG-1 and Atlantis too? SG-1 captivated me, but Atlantis put up a crazy fight to be my favorite. Also, it looks like we're on the same sleep schedule, haha. I know how hard it can be to get up by 10. Right now I'm actually shooting for 9:30. I realize it's a silly thing to relate about but I haven't seen a lot of us around! I'm jealous that you have access to an aerial silks class! If I had one near me, I would definitely think about probably maybe one day sometime going to a lesson after walking past it several hundred times. Let me know how it goes! Don't worry if you're stumbling on your first day. Every moment is an opportunity to make a change, and every day you get a clean slate. What's going on? I'll help if I can! 1 Quote Current Challenge Battle Log Link to comment

I guess I'm just having trouble getting started. I know we're not supposed to be focusing on motivation, but rather meeting goals. Maybe my goals are to big? Any thoughts on waking up on time?Yeah, I am super lucky there is a circus school in my town. There's a lot of great things in my town, actually. It has inspired me to become better. I have actually determined from the first class that silks are probably not quite right for me (but who knows, maybe that will change.) Managing the fabric is a whole thing; I think lyra might be better for me, but I might need better flexibility for that. It's all progress though! Quote My Challenge is Here. Link to comment

Managing the fabric is a whole thing; I think lyra might be better for me, but I might need better flexibility for that. It's all progress though! I encourage you to keep trying around both. Silks can be....daunting... to begin with for sure, but even if you end up not focusing on it it is so good for conditioning and grip strength training! Just doing classic climb is one of my favorite aerial warms ups still and I've been at this for 2 years! Play around on all the apparatus and as you get stronger you will learn more things from both and just generally become a stronger more graceful super badass! I actually also have sleep goals for this challenge although my times will be very different from yours because day job that starts at 8 but meh. I think a big part of this is just making yourself stick to a set time, no exceptions. I have for the longest time wanted to get more sleep but haven't made a set goal time for bed and up and because of this....go figure I haven't developed any better sleep habits in spite of tiredness. Woops! This challenge I am making myself be in bed by 11 and get up at 6 for weekdays and hey it seems to be working! 1 Quote Assassin extraordinaire!! fleaball
Great attitude! And hey, sometimes a challenge that isn't 100% perfect is better than one that is. With some trial and error you can see what works for you and what doesn't, rather than forcing yourself through something you hate/that isn't sustainable, just for the sake of getting 100% 2 Quote Level 69 Battle Kitten Battle Log | Current Challenge MyFitnessPal | Fitbit | Duolingo Ici je vis la vie que j'ai choisie Je suis partie pour reconstruire ma vie C'est dit, c'est ainsi Link to comment

Shen
Sorry for the comms blackout! Things are going better this week. I still can't seem to do all of my goals at once in a week, so I will definitely set smaller goals next challenge! But so far I am doing great on diet, journaling, and circus. Bodyweight will be my focus next challenge to make up for it! Quote My Challenge is Here. Link to comment
dancezwithkittehz
I am glad to hear things are going OK for you! It's OK if your challenge doesn't go perfect; it's how you learn what works best for you! I think especially when you are first starting out, picking really small goals is the way to go! Maybe go for the bodyweight just once a week for starters? What did you find held you back from getting around to it? Congrats either way on almost being done with your first challenge! Kick ass for your final week 4 and start working on your plan for the next challenge! (I personally am going to be repeating a lot of the same things in my next challenge from what I was doing this round. 4 weeks is too short for me to have accomplished the stuff I am working my way towards!) 1 Quote Assassin extraordinaire!! Shen
dancezwithkittehz, I really appreciate your presence on my thread throughout my challenge. I think I struggled so much with my challenge first and foremost because my health got bad and I ran out of spoons, but also because I don't think I set up my environment to be very conducive to my goals. I think that is what made the difference between the goals I did meet (Journaling in bed before going to sleep, following my diet in the kitchen I got all ready with pre-made broth and ferments, and training at the awesome circus school) vs. the ones I didn't (mostly bodyweight, where the only space I have for it is a cluttered half of our dining room which we hastily 'set aside' to by my personal space, and which is full of boxes and crap.) So next time, more setup, and more rewards! Quote My Challenge is Here. Link to comment
