My overall goal is weight loss (130 to go), but this challenge I want to work on strengthening my functional fitness.  I slacked off over the holidays, and will be renewing my commitment.  Tired and trite, but I'm not making resolutions.  I'm making small changes and habits. 

 

1. Exercise 10 minutes 5/7

 

2. Practice 10 mins of French  5/7

 

3. Eat 5 fruits & veggies a day  5/7

 

Life: 100 words written/edited   5/7

 

Perkele party overhaul.  Time to start smaller :)

Thought I'd sneak in for a peak.

 

Curious as to your 1 yr goal if you have one.  Like where do you want your challenges to take you (fat loss, cardio, a marathon, strength goal, improvement in a sport, etc).

 

Also, what kind of writing do you do (diary, fiction, articles, etc).

Current Challenge 

 

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.
Diet is 80% of losing weight, exercise is 80% of motivation.

The only thing I am 100% sure of is my ability to be wrong.

Peelout - I'm working on weight loss and it's going to be a bit of a long haul.  

 

               Writing - right now I'm focused on writing and editing a novel, but I have a variety of other writing/editing coming up this year so that's why I kept it general. :)

BS on not getting w/o's in this week.  Can you do 1 set of 10 freebody squats?  Unless you u are in such dire straights that you can  not do 1 set, why not do them? This is called a "Placeholder" w/o.  It does nothing for fitness, but is incredible for programming the mind.  It strengthens the exercise habit by reminding the brain that exercise is now a habit, not a choice.  It gets done regardless, even if it is only 1 set of 10 squats.  If you do them, your day is a success because you strengthened the habit, even if the exercise benefit was near 0.  Of course the placeholder is only for when lift throws the occasional curve, not a weekly occurrence. 

 

Just a thought.  I like your 3 day summaries.  So much easier to see trends than everyday entries.

Still Battling this nasty cold.  I'm at least getting daily 10+ min walks in, although I only made 10,000 steps once this week.  Just trying to get through and not eat too much.  When I'm feeling poorly I want all the sweets!  Hope to be feeling better for next weeks round.

Tweaking my goals a little bit as it was too general for me.  I really need the daily feedback of tracking for now.  Perhaps someday in the future I might not need it so much.  Cold is starting to ease (I hope) and I've got a pretty relaxing weekend planned so I hope it will be on it's way out by Monday at the latest. Got Steve's book on my Kindle and have already started reading it.  Yay!

I opted out of this past week for PVP and I think I opted out of everything else too!  Lol. 

 

I did get some significant Write/Edit done, but that's about it.  Food has been bad.  Exercise has been nonexistent.  Might have to scrap this challenge all together and start fresh next time.  :) 

 

I'm feeling good about my progress in other areas of my life, but this just hasn't been a priority for me this month.  And I'm okay with that.  I know I have some fitness/weight loss goals to accomplish this year, but these aren't doing it for me.  I've still got a lingering cough from my cold, and it's been cold and wet here for the past week.
