I am going to use this log to track my progress towards my long term, yearly goals - linking progress from my monthly challenges.

 

And so, with no further ado, here are my goals for 2016!

 

Fitness

-Run a 10K/half (Yonge Street 10K, Toronto Waterfront Half)

-Achieve a pull-up

-3X10 toe push ups

-Weight - 63.5kg, lose belly flab

-Treat management: trial a few to see what works, maybe cycle through them to test?

-No treats alone, Set number of treats/week, Only homemade treats, etc

-Keep close eye on second helpings: The reality is that my diet is pretty good, and I need little encouragement to keep up good behaviour.  This is how I’m getting away with such a loosely defined goal.

 

Life

-Pick up and be vetted in as many topics as I can at work (I can’t set a reasonable target for this right now since I don’t know how fast I can get them to train me!).  I would hope to complete the following by the end of the year:

-A

-B

-C

-D

-E

-F

-G

-H

Other potentials include: 1, 2, 3

I doubt I can do 7 in a year, but I can definitely aim for it!  (Also, I am already scheduled to be vetted on A early in January, so I have one ready to check off soon!

 

Domestic Rangering

-Organization: We have a small apartment and 2 kids, it is getting out of control.  Tasks listed here are things I would ideally like to have accomplished by the end of the school year.

-Make deck playable

-Sort out system for large dresser

-Tackle kids clothes

-Bookshelves - remove accumulated detritus

-Develop new routine for cleaning weekly (includes: bathrooms, wash sheets/towels, kitchen wipe down)

 

 

 

 

And we're off!

January 4th-29th Challenge

 

 

Train for a 10K

-Goal: Complete 4 weeks of training

Week 1: 5k, 3k, 3k = 11k

Week 2: 5k, 4k, 3k = 12k

Week 3: 5k, 4k, 4k = 13k

Week 4: 6k, 4k, 4k = 14k

 

Achieve a Pull-up

-Goal: 3X5 @40lbs assistance

Start: 3X5 assisted @ 55lbs

Progression: Pull up work 3X/week - Bodyweight rows, assisted pull ups

 

3X10 Toe push ups

-Goal: 3X10 knee push ups

Start:

Progression: Push ups 3X/week - knee push ups, toe push ups

 

Get down to 63.5kg

-Goal 66.5kg: Start Weight 67.8 

-3X treats/week.  Treat defined as: 2 cookies, SMALL handful of candy, SMALL bowl of chips

 

Pick up new topics at work

-Goal: Be vetted in A

-Goal: Follow up on training for C/D/E and plan way forward

-Goal: Determine vetting process for French

 

Domestic Rangering

-Goal: Make deck playable

-Take starting picture

-Wash rags

-Clean up plant pots

-Excavate back corner and create plan of action for discoveries

-Sweep

-Goal: Follow trial weekly cleaning routine

-Monday clean bathrooms

-Tuesday wash sheets/towels

-Tuesday grocery shopping

-Thursday wipe bathrooms

January 2016 Wrap Up 

 

Not great.

 

Kaladin

 

Bridge crews need to run for hours (Train for a 10K)

-Goal: Complete 4 weeks of training for my 10k (and later half)

Week 1: 5k, 3k, 3k = 11k

Week 2: 5k, 4k, 3k = 12k  (Ringette tournament this weekend, may only get 2 runs in - and that's ok!)

Week 3: 5k, 4k, 4k = 13k Nope

Week 4: 6k, 4k, 4k = 14k Nope

 

Bridge crews need to be able to carry a massive weight, and then maneuver it into position under attack (Achieve a Pull-up, 3X10 Toe push ups, Get down to 63.5kg)

-Goal: 3X5 @40lbs assistance

Start: 3X5 assisted @ 55lbs

Progression: Pull up work 3X/week - Bodyweight rows, assisted pull ups

-Goal: 3X10 knee push ups

Start:

Progression: Push ups 3X/week - knee push ups, toe push ups

 

All of this pretty much fell apart in the last two weeks.  Didn't run and didn't pull/push at all in Week 3 or 4.  Ugh.

 

I feel particularly bad about this due to my Black OPS ladies.  Sorry - I was clearly no help at all...

 

Jasnah

 

Eat like Jasnah

-Goal: Weight 66.5  Start 67.8

-3X treats/week.  Treat defined as: 2 cookies, SMALL handful of candy, SMALL bowl of chips

 

Not sure I've lost anything.  Definitely eating more than 3 treats/week.  Bad.

 

 

Shallan

 

 

Study as hard as Shallan (Pick up new topics at work)

-Goal: Be vetted in A English

-Goal: Follow up on training for C/D/E and plan way forward

-Goal: Determine vetting process for French

 

So, this went well.  On top of these goals, I also:

 

-Goal: Schedule Training for H, Training for H

 

Dalinar

 

Maintain my war camp like Dalinar (Domestic Rangering)

-Goal: Make deck playable

-Take starting picture

-Wash rags

-Clean up plant pots

-Excavate back corner and create plan of action for discoveries

-Sweep

-Goal: Follow trial weekly cleaning routine (and note changes needed!)

-Monday clean bathrooms

-Tuesday wash sheets/towels

-Tuesday grocery shopping

-Thursday wipe bathroom

 

Ugh.  

 

The less said about my house, the better.

 

 

 

All in all, this has not been a great 4 weeks.  The one thing I can say is that I loved my theme, and will likely be recycling it for this next challenge.  Cuz clearly I need some work on it.

Feb 2016

 

Train like Kaladin (4 weeks of 10K training)

-Goal: Run 3 times a week

Week 1: 5k, 3k, 3k = 11k

Week 2: 5k, 4k, 3k = 12k 

Week 3: 5k, 4k, 4k = 13k 

Week 4: 6k, 4k, 4k = 14k 

 

Train like Bridge 4 (2 push/pull sessions per week)

-Goal: 2 push/pull sessions per week

 

Shallan

 

Study as hard as Shallan

-Goal: Be vetted in C

-Goal: Submit plan for H

-Goal: Be vetted in A (French)

-Goal: Training in I

 

Jasnah

 

Eat like Jasnah

-Goal: No treats alone

 

I clearly need help with this one, so if I manage this, I will buy myself a new work bag.
