I've asked the same question on a few tricks where I tend to rotate around the pole. You're also making them extra hard for yourself by wearing a tank top. Skin contact on the side makes knee tucks and inverts a lot easier. But you don't need that. If you want more core on the knee tucks you could always try to do them with straight legs. Or mix it up with layback crunches, whichever you like more. Just focus on lifting from the lower abs, not the neck. Both will definitely target the core in different ways, even if you can feel it somewhere else. It's really easy to cheat with push-ups by either just moving the neck or the chest without lowering the shoulders. I do the same thing so that's why I spotted it! But, really, don't worry, it will all be good. It doesn't matter what exercises you do and if your form is not perfect as long you keep working hard and always try to improve. lucky fire dragon Posted January 5, 2016 Author Report Share Posted January 5, 2016 Day 2 has been a good day so far Morning routine - check- got up at 6- 40 min yin yoga- started work at 7.30 3.5 hours translation work in - check 40 min walk taken with youngest, who loved it - check 2 liters of water already had, last 0.5 will be had tonight stilland then I'm gonna make that yummy water from Annyshay's recipe with the mint and cucumber and all.... nomnom for tomorrow yesterdays eye training was acupressure points all around the head and they felt so good I did them again this morning, so - check - on that too I must say, I am tiiiiiiiiiiiired today, so very tired and I am wondering how I am going to survive this for four weeks, but I guess I just need time to grow into it.And my arms and shoulders have serious DOMS from yesterdays pole workout so I am REALLY looking forward to tomorrow's yin yoga Will aim for lots of chest opening positions that can stretch the arms as well We're about to go over to friends to play a werewolf rpg tonight and I'm suspecting it will get late and temptation for cocktails will be big...I didn't make any rules for alcohol this challenge, but the policy I had in mind was first the water then I can have a beer or glass of wine, if I still want to. Because most of the time by then I don't want it anymore. Tonight I might want after all... will try to keep it moderate then. Because otherwise tomorrow 6 am will be death. BUT I am doing great so far, so if I keep going I will have a delicious free weekend ahead with all the rest I want Game will be fun! It's a village with mostly citizens and a few werewolves (you get a card telling you your identity to start with and keep that secret). The Werewolves kill off a villager every night and all villagers discuss during the day who might be a werewolf and execute that person. Whoever dies has to turn their identity card around and then it might be the villagers see, it wasn't a werewolf after all but one of their own, oh-ohIf too many werewolves survive for too long, they win, if the villagers catch them early enough, they win.The thing is, how do you convince others that you are innocent (even when you are, especially when you aren't) - if you speak too much it raises suspicion, if you keep quiet same thing,... you can't really do it right There are a few special characters just to spice things up additionally and it's all in all great fun every time. She sees it all the time in pregnant women and she'll see it in people (like me) who react do having any hormones added (like birth control, IUDS nexplannon). At least that's what I took from the conversation. Could do it with legs straight and slowly, that might work the core more too...Hmm, many good options. It takes a lot to get me up, but then... all the peace and quiet in the house, doing restful yoga in front of a beautiful fire freshly built in our oven (with glass door to watch) Heaven By now it has turned into a full hour, just because it's so nice and the sequences from the book I am using are built for about 45 min, with me having to look up things still, I need 60. Which means from tomorrow on I'll have to get up at 5.30 even instead of 6 am otherwise I'll still be on it while the kids are getting ready for school right next to me and that won't be as peaceful and quiet really Whereas if I'm done by 7am at the latest, I can help them a little, tidy around the house and kitchen already and will benefit from that later in the day. Win-win Games with the neighbors and friends last night was great fun. Of course, hubby was sulking a bit because during the last round I was one of the werewolves and made him believe I wasn't but that's the risk of the game... he wouldn't have done anything different and he knows it. So it's all just goofing around.Not as tired today as I thought I'd be after 5 and 1/2 hours sleep only, so yay on that Oh, and Annyshay's infused water recipe is yummy, thank you! Morning routines are the best aren't they?! I love doing many things in the morning, especially things that I like or make me feel better. It feels like you're already ahead in your day for some reason and it makes the rest just go so much smoother! That's exactly it! Plus that peace and quiet is starting the day in the best way for me.Was soo tired yesterday later even after a nap in the afternoon, but still got up at 5.30 am this morning Yin Yoga - checkmorning walk with little one to school (and draw bank statements for office work) - checkEye exercises - check Three stars to stick first thing, whoohooo Eye exercises are good. There were all kinds of tests in the book for short sighted, far sighted and astigmatism. I know I am a little short sighted, which is why I got the book to start with, and I do have slight astigmatism as well. They have some patterns in the book where in this case some lines look darker to me than others (due to the astigmatism) and after some exercises that stretch the eye muscles it was definitely better.But then I wanted to double check and got unsure - might also be that I saw what I expected to see... and the one pattern looked darker again In any case my eyes feel kind of "fresher" after rolling them around in each direction and some directions hurt a little to start with if I went too far out and the second round they didn't hurt anymore. So I will just keep doing the exercises for self-care and focus less on any "results" for now. Would also be silly to expect something that developed over time to vanish overnight. The acupressure points feel really good to, so I now do those plus the eye stretches right after the yin yoga in the morning. It feels fresh and tingly in my forehead after, I like that Plus I do imagine seeing better after, but can't tell for sure yet, because if I want to make sure I tense up and see less good Tricky thing, this brain stuff Guys I am TIIIIIRED today!!! Took another little nap this afternoon and will skip translation work today. Will have to look into that work -hour-goal as I hadn't thought of the other hours office work that I have besides sessions as is. This week I have spent about 12 and 1/2 hours on work that was not sessions, but only about 6 of that on translation... so 16 hours a week on translation won't be doable right now. Will see how to adapt that. All i do in the morning is wake up as late as possible just so that i am able to be at work in time. Otherwise Janet Goodrich will also be a good author on this, too. Today we went for a beautiful hike and my eyes were better in the distance there, later in the afternoon shopping they were a little worse than normal, so I think indoor/outdoor makes a difference for me too and how tired I am as I felt fresh and strong during the hike and happily sleepy in the afternoon shopping. Right now they are better again, but then I've been a good girly and just did my exercises I still haven't done the actual test, because I'll need daylight for that and have to measure out the distance, somehow mount the book,... seemingly too much of a hassle to fit in during my days (I conveniently forget ) so once I have done that I can measure improvements and dips better. Weekend project: mount testing sheet and mark 3 meter distance for test and training!Then I can tell you more If you are only a little shortsighted, you can get glasses sure, but it will be better for your eyes to only wear them when you really need them. For instance if I drive in the dark I do wear mine, whereas during the day as I go about my things I don't need them at all. Good fun!Glad you enjoyed!!! Yes, it is! There are some extra characters that can be introduced if wanted. For instance I picked the role of the "squinter" twice. When everyone sleeps and only the werewolves open their eyes, the squinter can try to squint the eyes in a way (or peek through the hands in front of the eyes) to try and see who the werewolves are. Tricky to see anything yet not be noticed doing it. Of course if the werewolves see you do it, you're a goner the next night.... We also had a hunter, who when killed could take one other person down with him by shooting them. But then, he doesn't necessarily know who's who either, so it's rather a blind shot All in all great fun, yes! Blessed to have friends young enough at heart to still play games like these.And the conversations!!!! The reasons people give why you should trust them or why they think the "evil" is sitting "over there"... hilarious. That's always the best part. It's basically still lying around, just on a yoga mat (with rolls and blocks and blankets for comfort during the stretches) and knowing it will make me more flexy how cool is that Also really the wonderful fire going right next to me makes it all very meditative. It gives me a gentle, soothing start into the day, super! I appreciate it SO MUCH It also did me a world of good to read that you think I planned lots of work, because I often feel I work so little compared to other people. I mean there I've worked about 18 hours over four days and most people work that in 2 days and consider it normal. How come I feel it after 4?? Okay, I do still have the kids to look after (although they a look after themselves pretty much) and some household stuff to do, we visited family and hair dresser, and things like that and that does seem to add up always, but still it seems ridiculous. Well ridiculous or not, i did take today as a kind of off day, will work a half day tomorrow instead and take that as a productive, successful week to go by. No point planning any more than that obviously. Today was off, because Hubby and me always keep our Friday morning free from work to have some time together and today we went for a short, beautiful hike in the mountains. Just a little over an hour up and it was crisp, and bright and BEAUTIFUL When we got back home the meat loaf slow cooking in the instant pot smelled very inviting already and all that was left for me to do was potatoes (for everyone else, I don't like them) and veggies to add, mmmh I would have liked to get an hour or two of work in then, but time flew past and I had to drive my girl to her hip hop dance class in the neighbor town and did errands so long. Got home, unpacked the shopping and found I had to take my boy to table tennis (which didn't even happen as we found out) and after that I knew, it was either training on the pole still or working, but not both anymore because after either thing I'd be too tired for the other.
