Schaengel
Hello Everyone, yes, finally my first NF-Challenge (I missed the last by 1 week and wasn't motivated enouth to catch up X_X).So yeah I'm excited to get started again. If you'r interested in who is this talking here anyway fell free to read a little(!) more about me in my Introduction-Thread (http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/74274-try-fail-try-again-fail-better/#entry1705181). So okay let's go... Diet Goal 1: Eat breakfast every day (26/28 Days) Situation: Okay, I'm not a morning person...really not a morning person. I don't like to get out of bed before 8:00 and normally a need 1-2h to get myself going and be some kind of productive. I think that might be connected with the fact that I normally don't eat breakfast...i start my day with 2-3 coffee and a cigarette and that's not the way I want to keep it. Solution: It's really simple, get up, make coffee and eat some healthy food.Okay since I'm sure that will not be enough to keep me on track I plan on these support Ideas:-Plan and Prepare: I'm going to try and Plan my breakfast for the following to days and prepare what I can prepare on the evening before.-Get rid of the bad food: Since I'm not living alone that's not that easy but at least I can get the bad sugary corn-flakes stuff out of my way and hopefully out of my mouth so too. Diet Goal 2: Eat regularly (23/28 Days) Situation: Normally I eat between 2-3 times a day. Normally leading to eating really a lot and normally unhealthy food in the evening. That's not only bad for my fitness goals but also annoys me...really. Solution: Connected with my Diet Goal 1. I'm trying to change to eating around every 3 hours, so that I don't have "downs" throughout the day and lose the unhealthy binge eating part in the evening. Fitness Goal: Train 3 times a week (3/4-Weeks) Situation: I actually like the different sports I do at the moment, nonetheless I normally aren't motivated enough to push myself to the last training session Solution: Add the thursday boxing meeting to my training plan and hope that being in my group there is enough to push me Leveling Up (Life Goal) Meditation (23/28 Days) My Life Goal for this Challenge is quite easy. Meditate for 10 minutes each day. I did this quite regularly last year (with the calm app) and really felt a improvement to my focus and calm so I want that again. So the real challenge will be that I'm preparing for exams right now so I will really have to push me to take the 10-15 minutes out of my learning time to meditate. So yeah these are my goals and I'm really excited to finally get started as a Rebel KRM 3 Quote My NF-Character: https://www.nerdfitness.com/character/58102 Introduction Or How I started, Challenges: 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 ; 5 ; 6 ; 7 ; RESPAWN ; 8 ; Member of the League of Epicness, Hellfire Club! ...would like to be a Nac Mac Feggle Link to comment

QueenAlice
This is my first challenge as well and we share a common quest, healthy breakfast! I also typically start my day with just some coffee. I plan to add a smoothie or eggs etc... Good luck! Schaengel
So first day gone, first update. (Since I've seen, that Yasha is following this (Hi) I try and make these updates as interesting as possible ( also I need to write more so that's to positives connected) Okay, first things first. I had the breakfast I was aiming for, even though it took 1,5hours and two cups of coffee, so done it but still room for improvement.Eating regularly was easy as well, I think I should try to start this "eating plan" sooner in the day so that it doesn't collides with my other eating habits (last meal before 18:00) but that should work out as soon as I'm getting used to eating breakfast. Exercise I did not today, which should be okay since my regular training is scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday for the start. Meditation is going to be the real "endboss" in this challenge I think. I did meditate today but it really took me quite some time to get to it. I'm preparing for my exams and a university project at the moment and really fell "on fire" at the moment so I really don't like to make room for meditation even though I know it's good and I'm not going to be able to learn from 8 in the morning till 11 in the night anyway. Okay that was day 1...let's keep it successful 1 Quote My NF-Character: https://www.nerdfitness.com/character/58102 Introduction Or How I started, Challenges: 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 ; 5 ; 6 ; 7 ; RESPAWN ; 8 ; Member of the League of Epicness, Hellfire Club! ...would like to be a Nac Mac Feggle Link to comment

Schaengel
Ended with a whole-grain roll with some turkey (yeah for the local village bakery ) and an boiled egg. Also planed and prepared the breakfast for tomorrow (scrambled egg and bacon for the training day ) I hope I can keep it up over the next week (will be challenging because NFL Play-Offs and Semester exams will propel me out of my regular day routine for sure). 1 Quote My NF-Character: https://www.nerdfitness.com/character/58102 Introduction Or How I started, Challenges: 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 ; 5 ; 6 ; 7 ; RESPAWN ; 8 ; Member of the League of Epicness, Hellfire Club! ...would like to be a Nac Mac Feggle Link to comment
Schaengel
Okay so day 2 started at 8:30 in the morning (really not my time...one of my Professors at the University once said every activity before 10:00 is torture...I think he's right! jump out of the bed, recognized a really bad pain in my left knee and fell right back in my beloved bed...so getting out of bed in the end took 30min. But right after that I had my breakfast today consisting of egg and bacon. After that (+2 cups of coffee with milk) it kind of went down...absolutely no motivation whatsoever ... so at around 12:00 I decided to "restart" this day.Meditation for 10 minutes (and realizing that I really was tensed from the beginning of the day ) to keep motivation up I changed in my sport-wear which I would need later for the day anyway and look at that, suddenly motivation decided that it is okay to stay with me for the day So after that I really got going and (so that I see it again and can remind myself...)- Finished around 95% of my preparations for the business law exam (just need to redo some markings in my law book)- Finished 95% of Quality-Management preparations (just learn some Definitions)- Finished 80% of Marketing prep (learn Definitions and redo some test-questions)- 70% of Procurement- Management (but still 2 weeks time so okay)So yeah I'm kinda on a roll and just need to remind myself how good in the time I am. After a day full of learning and I went to my kickboxing training, the training really was kind of difficult since my head still was blocked by all the learning stuff so I really struggled with the more complex combinations but I kinnda managed that in the End. So long story short:- Breakfast Check- Meditation Check- regular eating Check- 1 from 3 training sessions of the week Check 1 Quote My NF-Character: https://www.nerdfitness.com/character/58102 Introduction Or How I started, Challenges: 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 ; 5 ; 6 ; 7 ; RESPAWN ; 8 ; Member of the League of Epicness, Hellfire Club! ...would like to be a Nac Mac Feggle Link to comment
QueenAlice
Good job on the day reset! It's so easy to just say oh well and mess up the rest of your day. Bacon and eggs for breakfast, yum! I also had eggs, you should try some red chile sauce as an egg topper. Total game changer! Schaengel
Day 4 nearly done and even though I am really tired I will try to make this entry longer so that I don't get annoyed by reading it in the future XD First things first, getting up and having breakfast...check...but it really wasn't easy today cause I had the great idea yesterday that I would probably like to have some yoghurt mixed with berries for breakfast ( which I normally really like) and I really had to force myself to eating it.After that I went to my university to study (and finish YES) my preparations for the law exam with a good friend, and even though our dining hall really isn't a good place to eat if you want something low-carb (or delicious) I kinda stayed on my eating schedule. Kinda stayed on because I decided in the morning that I have to push the periods between eating a little beyond the planed 3 hours because otherwise it would collide with my training. After that I went home had lunch, wanted to take a short break and ended with watching nearly the whole season 5 of "Community".... Okay so really slacked in my studies but went to my training (kickboxing again) hoping to turn the day around...but it really wasn't my day.For warm-up we did a partner training with 5 sets of 10 repetitions of crawling beneath your partners leg and then jumping over your crouched partner (there's a cooler name for this exercise I'm sure if you know it please tell me ) and after that I was wasted, really wasn't feeling good and also somehow hurt my hand so that part of it turned numb. So I had to take a brake to get the felling back to my hand and to catch a breath and after that I managed to finish the training okay (but we only did 1round of circuit training and some kickboxing combinations so it wasn't that hard today anyway). So a recap:Learning: could have been more and less"Community" eating breakfast: CHECKeating regularly: I will decide tomorrow how to rate that challenge for today, cause I'm getting really hungry again in the evenings (yesterday too) and probably have to eat something again :/. Definitely need to look into this and get rid of that Meditation: Will do that before I get into my bed for another round of "Fun with Marketing"* *no fun included Quote My NF-Character: https://www.nerdfitness.com/character/58102 Introduction Or How I started, Challenges: 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 ; 5 ; 6 ; 7 ; RESPAWN ; 8 ; Member of the League of Epicness, Hellfire Club! ...would like to be a Nac Mac Feggle Link to comment
QueenAlice
Oh man, I have definitely fallen into the "I'll just watch one episode to take a quick study break" blackhole. Don't worry about it too much, sometimes your brain needs a minute I don't know how you feel about cold coffee drinks (some people have STRONG opinions on if coffee should be hot or cold...) BUT one thing I do to supplement my morning is to throw my coffee, some ice, and protein powder into the blender. Then I get my coffee fix and a protein boost. I usually have this when I first wake up to get me going (~6/6:30), then I eat breakfast ~9. Maybe that would help you spread meals out a bit so you don't get too hungry in the evening? 1 Quote "Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." -- Red Queen, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll Battle Log | Queen Alice | Challenge 1 Link to comment

Schaengel
Day 5Okay so today was not very spectacular. Eating breakfast? Yes Bacon and Eggs, found out that this seems to be the meal I can get down and normaly enjoy even when I have to get up really outside of my comfortable time zone (like today at 6:30 ) and even if I'm in a hurry, like today when I nearly missed my bus because 7:20 is really to soon for me (a professor at my university once said single digit numbers are for sleeping...I think he's on to something there :X ) Then to the university and doing the last session of procurement studys (hopefully for good) with a little snack from the cafeteria to stay in my eating schedule. And after that I went shopping...for clothes...in the real world (normally I like to do that online) but since I have an official university event next week I really needed to get a appropiat outfit. And it was quite nice. Found out that shopping is much more fun when the saleslady says you can wear something because your tall and thin (and not tall and sturdy) So yeah that was nice. After that spend my time at home learning and taking "Community"-breaks and eating something small. So eating regulary also done today. Since I'm really good in time with my study's I decided to spend the evening with some friends at a jazz concert in my favourite "club"(really a youth center but is also used for a lot of concerts since we don't really have good concer halls around here :/ ). Because I want to get up early and study tomorrow I left there at around twelve, also I wanted to catch up on the message board and I'm tired. So I will do my meditation soon and then sleep. So you can say today was a day well spent. (Also I decided that I will not count the day yesterday as a success for the eating regularly challenge, just doesn't fell right) 1 Quote My NF-Character: https://www.nerdfitness.com/character/58102 Introduction Or How I started, Challenges: 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 ; 5 ; 6 ; 7 ; RESPAWN ; 8 ; Member of the League of Epicness, Hellfire Club! ...would like to be a Nac Mac Feggle Link to comment

Schaengel
Day 6 A day of ups and downsThe day started alright even though I slept nearly one hour longer than I planed but since I was up late yesterday that's okay. So started with coffee and the usual breakfast and started studying in a really good tempo until midday. Needed to leave the house because I was out of cigarettes and BAM, instant stress out of nowhere. But this time I was aware of a good option, so instead of going home I went for a walk through my village and ended up walking for 15minutes after that some meditation and back on track yes.Okay some more studying but more important, took the time to think about why I have so much stress-related trouble in the last weeks (and even get "stress pimpels" ) and I think I found the reason (I don't have a feeling on what I already know well enough and what don't) so first thing tomorrow morning will be writing down everything I can remember for my exams and will cross out all things I remembered. Then learn and repeat on the next day...and so on.Regularly eating was alright, but I think I need to reevaluate and restructure my general diet in the next challenge (or more realistic the one after because of vacation ) What more? I have decided to set a "mini-challenge" of some sort for the next two weeks to balance my stress-level, so I will do at least one thing that I enjoy and that has nothing to do with exams or work or projects of some sort and write it down here to be conscious about it.So for today: I started planning my Superbowl Birthday Party (football and low carb food so a perfect evening) also take the time to watch both NFL games tonight (and also Lemmy's funeral of course). Okay and since I have some people following along: Thinking about of structuring my challenge thread more or is it enjoyable the way it is?? What do you say? Schaengel
Day 7 (and for context and story also the night from Day 6) Success! Managed to hit my 3 training's a week goal today with my running group. Even though I questioned that last night because I needed to see the Bengals - Steelers NFL game (#SteelersWorldWide ) but the game started at 2:00 in the night and so I nearly spend the whole night awake watching football (even though I went to bed before the end because I saw it coming that the Steelers might lose in the end), so I had a healthy share of around 4hours of sleep in the night and drove to our running meeting point right after getting up, prepared to falling asleep any minute. But somehow running today felt really good and really easy. We decided to take it easy today so we did 9,2km in 75minutes (I could have been faster but "Nobody get's left behind!!"After that I had the usual breakfast did some last minute law and marketing studies and the just had a lazy day with a little bit of housework and a lot of couch-time. But since my breakfast was that late eating regularly was really easy (but I must admit that I had a really unhealthy pizza dinner cause I forgot to buy stuff so really hadn't much of a choice besides delivery service)Meditation will be done later as start of my exam focusing for tomorrow.Anti-Stress Action today: pretty much everything, running, relaxing bath, couch and pizza So first week done and really a success (but the goals a quite easy of course) 1 Quote My NF-Character: https://www.nerdfitness.com/character/58102 Introduction Or How I started, Challenges: 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 ; 5 ; 6 ; 7 ; RESPAWN ; 8 ; Member of the League of Epicness, Hellfire Club! ...would like to be a Nac Mac Feggle Link to comment

Schaengel
Day 8 Today really was unspectacular so I'll make this a quite ahort report.Woke up and had my breakfast then got in my car to drive to the first exam of this week (business and trade law) which was okay I think. At least I could remember all paragraphs that have been required even though I'm not that satisfied with how I phrased the evaluation but I hope that I will get at least a 2.0 or better (would be an B or better in american grading system)..everything beyond 2.0 would be a failure :/Okay regular eating also was no problem, but I think my next challenge should be all about eating better and especially more diverse...I need to try more food that I'm not used to eating (also my vacation next month will be more adventurous when I try everything )The rest of the day I spend with meeting friends and learning...I probably will skip meditation today and learn all night to be prepared for the next exam coming tommorow.
