Maeghaan
Another day down! With not too much to say actually. Has anyone started thinking of their goals for the next challenge yet? Absolutely, lol. I've been trying to keep myself from thinking about them too much though, so I don't lose sight of what I'm trying to do right now. I have a tendency to get overwhelmed by planning mode and leave my goals by the wayside when I think too far ahead. 1 Quote Maeghaan | Assassin EQ Level 2 | NF Level 4 I started a blog: The Cognitive Itch"Even in these chains, you can't stop me" Weight loss goal: Drop from 247 to 160 36% 36% Link to comment
SnowOwl
I may have written down my thoughts for the next 4 months when I first thought out this month's goals... I am reading Steve's book and am going to see if (once I finish it) that leads to a change in plans. 2 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment

I have a tendency to get overwhelmed by planning mode and leave my goals by the wayside when I think too far ahead.Same here, at the end of all the challenges I have done so far I have been so ready to just move onto the next challenge that I have to pay extra attention not to abandon my current goals. Whenever I look at my overall goal and break it down into all the littler things I need to do to achieve it, I find it so hard not to try do all things and do them all now. Maybe I need to be more patient... I may have written down my thoughts for the next 4 months when I first thought out this month's goals... I am reading Steve's book and am going to see if (once I finish it) that leads to a change in plans. You have the book already?? Damn. I have to wait until the 27th. That's before the end of this challenge isn't it, I have a feeling I might do a overhaul of my goals after reading it. How is it so far? 2 Quote SaffronTurtleLevel 4 Bosmer Assassin I | II | III | IV *insert inspiration and witty quote here* Link to comment

SnowOwl
I was wavering on buying the book and then I was in a really bad mood the other day and I just impulsively bought the ebook version. I really wanted the hardcover, but I just couldn't wait! Honestly, I wasn't sure if it would fit me, but so far I'm loving it! I am on chapter 3 and will keep you posted how I like it once I get farther. 1 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment

When you say you weren't sure if it would suit you, do you mean the whole gamification aspect of the book? Or something else. 1 Quote SaffronTurtleLevel 4 Bosmer Assassin I | II | III | IV *insert inspiration and witty quote here* Link to comment

SaffronTurtle was a randomly generated username that I now use on the forums I think it's really interesting how people come up with different usernames. Some of them are really creative (unlike me). How did you come up with peelout?I'm in to whitewater kayaking. Peelout is a term used to leaving an eddy (eddy currents push upstream) by paddling upstream with the eddy current, then pulling the boats bow in to the current causing the boat to turn downstream. 2 Quote Current Challenge We are what we repeatedly do. SnowOwl
When you say you weren't sure if it would suit you, do you mean the whole gamification aspect of the book? I was thinking it might be geared too much toward 20-somethings, working in corporation land, following other people's goals for themselves. I'm 40 and already living a fairly non-traditional life - off-grid, yurt, already left career path that didn't suit me, etc. The gamification aspect I like, though I'm not a gamer. That's another thing I wasn't sure about. My "nerdiness" tends more toward Jane Austen than adventure movies and games - I don't like movies with violence in them. But I really wanted to support NF and I was hoping the book would help me set better goals. It's turning out more helpful in more ways than I thought. So far, I'm a big fan of the book. I'll let you know what impacts it has once I start doing things with it! 1 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment

While there does seem to be a lean towards that demographic for I think Steve's work and message are aimed at anyone interesting in self-improvement and the comrade found within the rebellion. So far, I haven't met anyone on the forums who doesn't match that description. In truth I almost didn't join the Rebellion when I started because I didn't feel like I belonged. I'm only in my second year of uni, I haven't yet been pushed into the corporate world and wouldn't call myself a gamer but I'm so so glad I did join. The people are supportive and amazing and always encouraging me to expand my boundaries past my comfort zone. Also, you live in a yurt? thats epic!! I knew you lived off grid but that's a whole new level of awesome. Did you build it? 1 Quote SaffronTurtleLevel 4 Bosmer Assassin I | II | III | IV *insert inspiration and witty quote here* Link to comment
SaffronTurtle
EXCITING NEWS GUYS Two things actually. 1. Level Up Your Life came today, early, or I miscalculated when it would arrive...that's probably the more likely case. Once I post this imma burrow into a cocoon of blankets and read read read some more. 2. I hit a milestone with my workout three challenges in the making, from a placeholder 1x set of 5x reps to 3x sets of 12 for each of the four exercises I now get to move onto the next level difficulty exercises, ie. Bulgarian split squats, regular pushups, regular pullups and decline planks. I've dropped the reps to 5 and will start building those up again next session! 2 Quote SaffronTurtleLevel 4 Bosmer Assassin I | II | III | IV *insert inspiration and witty quote here* Link to comment
Asa Pond
I hadn't actually bothered to look extensively into the science of gratitude until now, it really is quite fascinating! I think I will have a look tomorrow to see if there are any TED talks on the topic. Ouch, and I thought my uni tuition fees were bad. What course are you doing? Ooh - did you find any good ones?? and Yeah... it isn't fun. I took political science and philosophy. But now I'm working in Marketing and Business dev., so nothing to do with my actual courses. 1 Quote Fallaces sunt rerum species et hominum spes fallunt. Link to comment

My husband and I did, we finished out the interior too - so fully insulated and everything. It's not quite finished - trim, countertops, etc. but hopefully those pieces will get done this summer. peelout
Yes please, more pictures. Inside too. I see what appears to be some solar panels behind the house. Do they generate enough to charge batteries for any nighttime supply or just during the day. Also, they appear to be in an area shaded by the house. Why is that? 1 Quote Current Challenge We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. Diet is 80% of losing weight, exercise is 80% of motivation. SaffronTurtle
Thanks guys, I figured that I wanted just one perfect week so I really gave it my all! Heads up though, I'm going to a party on Monday so I'm giving myself exemption of the diet challenge for that night on the condition that the next day is SPOTLESS. 1 Quote SaffronTurtleLevel 4 Bosmer Assassin I | II | III | IV *insert inspiration and witty quote here* Link to comment
