If it's going to make digestion miserable imo it's not worth it, never is :S. mediaguy99 Posted January 22, 2016 Author Report Share Posted January 22, 2016 Today I just went to the cycle studio and rode for an hour. Felt good. Watched The Expendables 3 on a tablet. I have to say, that's just about the only way I can tolerate indoor cycling. Anyway, I didn't do the upper body since I figured I have tomorrow to do that. Shame on me I guess... Tomorrow we'll hit the racquetball gym and I'll squeeze in a short upper body workout. mediaguy99 Posted January 24, 2016 Author Report Share Posted January 24, 2016 Perfect day, sort of. Played 45 min of racquetball, geezer paced, and then hit the gym. Lifted for just about a half hour--could only do 9 standard pull ups, which was sort of a bummer. Managed to bench 95#x8x3 which is a new record. Once I can do it ten times I'll up the weight. Also upped weight on the reverse grip bicep curls--did 3x10x40# of those. Then we went to see The Revenant. While the cinematography was great, I thought the storytelling a little too graphic for my taste. Horrified my poor wife. Anyway, the landscape was beautiful. I just didn't buy that he went from having a totally lame, broken foot, to walking and climbing on it just a few days later. Not to mention the insane amount of internal infection that was going in his body. Anyway. mediaguy99 Posted January 25, 2016 Author Report Share Posted January 25, 2016 Still need to make a plan for this week, which is a little messy because I'm flying to Phoenix and helping my mom pack up her house to move on Friday. So I won't have gym access or a ski mountain, per my usual weekend plans, for quite some time. Regardless, I'm heading over for some yoga to get me straight after this weekend's telemark/racquetball/pull up festival. I'll try to post that schedule after that. Meantime, this morning we had our group's breakfast outing, and though I stayed away from the sweet stuff, I still had a little too much in the way of potatoes and biscuits. Carbs really. Boy o boy. Last night's workout: Pull ups 10!!!,5,3Rear delt flys 3x9x10Lateral flys 3x8x10Assisted dips 3x10x#5(NBRC)Deadlifts 3x8x155 Saw improvements in my assisted dips and deadlifts, and hit my goal for standard pull-ups. The workout was short but it was intended to be so. Tried doing lateral flys, which were harder that I remember. Also went to yoga yesterday which wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. Had a bout of emotional eating that involved salty chips last night, and finished my leftovers from yesterday's breakfast this morning too, so I'm probably way behind on eating paleo for the week. With my upcoming trip to my mom's house this weekend, I think I've probably got a case of the fuckit's. Weight is still holding steady, this morning at 165.6 lbs and 14.0%BF. All in all it's been a successful three weeks. Just gotta keep on keeping on and not worry too much about the food situation over the last 24 hours. Today I'm heading to the gym to watch movies and pedal hard. Did a six mile circuitous route to work, hauling the kiddo in the trailer and with my rear derailer not working at all. Will hopefully get that fixed during work today before heading home. Emotional stuff at home is killing me--not sticking to paleo much at all (still staying fairly healthy, but had a biscuit and a serving of TJ cookies last night, and a bagel this morning). I totally get why I'm drawn to carbs (ie, sugar) when I'm stressed but I really need to find a better way. Didn't stretch yesterday either, unfortunately. mediaguy99 Posted January 28, 2016 Author Report Share Posted January 28, 2016 Ouch. Yesterday's TRX class left me feeling like I haven't felt after exercise in years. I totally felt like I needed to barf. Lots and LOTS of core work. Lots of HIIT. Very intense. Couldn't even eat my lunch after class--fortunately I had an apple with peanut butter, a banana, and a very easy to digest protein shake available, and that was fine 'til dinner. Today I feel like somebody wrung me out like a wet rag. My intercostals, abs, and obliques are all on fire. Oh, and there was still plenty of balanced BW suspension squats to make my quads and hams feel like they were on fire too... but those muscle groups are much more well trained so it's not so bad. Anyway, heading to the gym for a stationary bike ride. I should really go out and ride my actual bike, but I don't have enough clothes for a moderately cold-weather ride. It's only 50 out, which is well within my usual tolerance for biking, but I gotta have the right clothes. mediaguy99 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Report Share Posted February 2, 2016 YIKES! I've been in Arizona packing up my mom's house and haven't looked at this since last Thursday. eek. I can't say for sure what my weight is, as I haven't been near my scale. The one at the gym here said 167 with my shoes on, so I'm thinking I'm hovering at 166 naked. Which is great, since I had hoped to lose 4# and lost 5. the last time I measured my BF% I was at about 14.4, which is almost a percent lower than starting date. That's great too. Finally, I did 10 pull ups, which was my goal, so that's excellent as well! I don't think I have time to cogitate on another challenge, so I think I'm going to just continue with my current plan, but drop my paleo percentage down to 80% and allow myself one "dessert" item per week. I'll continue with my plan to stick to the plan, once I get back to Boulder. This week it's too hard to plan anything, since I'm traveling, and at a conference when I get back. I know I'm going to be skiing Sunday so that's EXCELLENT. I just wish I were in town TODAY since Eldora got 16" of new snow since yesterday and work got CANCELLED today!!!
