Nnimn
So...Aliens. Robots. Insanely Intelligent Monkeys. What do all these things have in common? They're all out to kick our butts -and most definitely will succeed if said butt has been fat, lazy, or otherwise incapable of movement. Thus the question, if I were to end up in a scene from IRobot, The Matrix, War of the Worlds, Star Wars, etc. which character would I fit most? The background people dying and panicking or a capable and valuable member of a resistance? Thus, in the name of rebellion (and in the interest of NOT dying sadly and pathetically), my goal is to remove my butt from all Couch Related Activities and back into Resistance Cable Assassin Activities. The regimen I have outlined for myself is this: Running/Walking Importance: You never know when you might need to run for your life or trek many miles in search of the rebel base. Frequency: Daily Duration: Minimum of 1 mile Body Weight Training Importance: Need I even say? Just go watch Batman, Arrow or this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZxNbAwY_rkFrequency: 3 days/weekDuration: 15 to 20 mins Sleeping Importance: Who wants to die because of crappy reaction time? No one. So get your rest. Frequency: Um..Nightly...lol. We'll go with 5 days a week for starters. Duration: 8 hours. This means going to bed at like 10:30.The exception for this will be emergencies like Azha getting sick or someone breaking into my car (examples from last months night disturbances) As far as points and such I will be setting all that up with the new character creation set-up and will provide a link in this post when I have time. 2 part Real life rewards: 1 snow boarding trip 1 rock climbing trip Achieved by making it through a fortnight with an overall 85% success (eg 90%, 90%, 75%). Also, I can't believe it's take me till today to finally post this. *hangs head in shame* 2 Quote 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - Current ChallengeNinja AssassinNo one believes our excuses but us... so let's stop making them and go accomplish something! Nnimn
Okay so I've been averaging about 2 miles daily. It won't save my life in a pinch but at least it'd take me a few more seconds to die than my self of two weeks ago....yay.Body weight workouts have not reached the minumum minute requirement so it means I have till Sunday to get on that. It's probably gonna end up being Friday Saturday Sunday -procrastinating a bit on this Hopefully the apocalypse doesn't come tomorrow.....However, if it does, at least I'll be well rested! 1 Quote 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - Current ChallengeNinja AssassinNo one believes our excuses but us... so let's stop making them and go accomplish something! Nnimn
Walking: 100% sucess -Woot!Woot! *throws confetti*BW Training: um....I still have three days so let's not discuss it till then...*shifty eyes*Sufficient Sleep: 50% success so far but...er...I've still got 3 days I am also adding a 4th goal that I will get bonus points for accomplishing: Sugar no more than once a week -only in dark chocolate form or a tsp raw sugar in my macchiato or flat white. This accomplishes two things: saves me money (on buying expensive coffee or chocolate) saves me from consuming too many empty calories. If I succeed in this (with no more than 2 mess-ups) I'll include an ice skating trip as well (cheap but fun). 1 Quote 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - Current ChallengeNinja AssassinNo one believes our excuses but us... so let's stop making them and go accomplish something! Nnimn
This is gonna be a brief update since its been crazy busy and I've still got lots left to do before tomorrow (whoever said weekends were a time of rest was just trying to screw with my head). O.oOkay so the week overall has been a win. 1 down, 3 to go. I wasn't able to walk Saturday since I had something come up and had to make a quick out of town trip but apart from that I've been able to stick with everything. My pup is actually sore from all the running and walking we've been doing lately so I'm gonna take that as a good sign. Also Im rethinking all my arm work since my car decided power steering is for pansies and now It has me cranking the wheel manually. -turns out it's a bit difficult to turn the wheels with spaghetti noodle arms. Note to self: Must get this fixed BEFORE the aliens arrive. Most impressively tho, has been the fact that I have actually made it to bed at fairly decent hours most of the time. Sadly, I'm pretty sure this is directly connected to my recent cancelling of my kindle unlimited subscription..... 1 Quote 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - Current ChallengeNinja AssassinNo one believes our excuses but us... so let's stop making them and go accomplish something! Nnimn
My at-home reading habits didn't change when I got my Kobo, but I sure read in public more often. Yeah it sure makes it a lot more convenient....also discreet. Somehow people notice 3 books shoved in a purse. Do you use the app or the actual Kobo device? 1 Quote 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - Current ChallengeNinja AssassinNo one believes our excuses but us... so let's stop making them and go accomplish something! Jothra
I have a Kobo H2O (I used to have a Kobo Touch). I read for long enough periods of time in enough different light levels to make an E-Ink screen worthwhile. 1 Quote Jothra i | ii | iii | iv | v | vi | vii | viii Link to comment
Nnimn
I've thought about getting an e-reading specific device but so far have yet to invest in it. Perhaps something to consider for the future as I know reading from a back-lit screen, especially at night, isn't the most beneficial. So yesterday was a fairly epic fail. I didn't eat crap but neither did I workout, walk my dog nor get to bed at a reasonable hour. It seems I need to stop hoping for any kind of accomplishment Mondays. The only thing I manage to do is obscene amounts of work and study from early in the morning till ridiculously late at night. Since I barely survive Mondays as it is, here's to hoping any world catastrophes/invasions happen on a Non-Monday - otherwise I'm very much afraid this would be me, best case scenario: 1 Quote 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - Current ChallengeNinja AssassinNo one believes our excuses but us... so let's stop making them and go accomplish something! Nnimn
Okay so a cold kicked my butt this week . I'm finally a bit better and will be back on track. I was still able to walk most days (except when I physically could not get up) and haven't eaten much in the way of sugar or crap (though I have eaten plenty of those darned Terra chips which I am more than slightly addicted to). I've been sleeping a lot but at weird times and it batches of 3 or 4 hours. The only thing I was really unable to do was any body weight workouts. So this week I'm gonna try to do four instead of three and rest a bit extra to prevent relapsing. There's nothing worse than death part two... 1 Quote 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - Current ChallengeNinja AssassinNo one believes our excuses but us... so let's stop making them and go accomplish something! Nnimn
And now..*drum roll*.....Today's Summary!!!! (sparse spattering of applause): Sleep deprivations levels: fairly consistently low. Yay. Trekking success: Walked a couple miles, played with the dog at the park. Body Weight WOD29 pull-ups (not full -just assisted, eccentric and half)50 prisoner and sumo squats45 push-ups40 leg lifts20 burpees (boo!!! hiss!!)40 mountain climbers30 weighted russian twists30 jumping jacks (I kind of felt like, 'why bother?' on this but it was the amount listed on the WOD so....)90 sec plank I have discovered that sheep's cheese, while not initiating an allergic reaction, is still reactive for me in that it activate my disease and leaves me extremely weak. It was killing me to finish my few push-ups and squats today. I've been reintroducing it the last couple weeks and it's just now catching up with me so I'm thinking I'll have to limit it to special occasions. Dagnabit.... 1 Quote 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - Current ChallengeNinja AssassinNo one believes our excuses but us... so let's stop making them and go accomplish something! Link to comment
Nnimn
Haven't had much time for updating on her but I've been keeping up with the overall goals for the most part. So here's a rundown of this last weeks activities: Sufficient sleep -been doing well here. If I don't get enough I at least nap later. Surprisingly enough, in this manner I have been able to retain a minimum level of sanity. Body Weight Workouts have left me thinking perhaps I shouldn't be quite so enthusiastic when it comes to A.M.R.A.P.s. I don't think my abs have EVER been this sore (and that's saying something since my cousin and I used to compete to see how many hundreds of sit-ups we could do in a nigh). But I definitely could do better by doing more kinds of movement and challenging myself all the time, not just when it's recorded. Now that I have pushed myself for our Assassin Experiments, it gives me a good base point -I can continue to record my max reps to beat my previous numbers. Walking- this has been a challenge. I initially was trying to focus on this for me, but also for Azha since I'm busy and want her to be taken care. Sadly, however, I have discovered she gets better mental exercise and burns way more energy when we go to a park and play fetch and work on off leash healing or recalls with distance, distraction, etc. I just cannot run fast enough for her and unless we go out of town she can't be off leash. So I've not been logging as many miles in favor of putting her needs first but I really should be doing both (for both our sakes) -which I shall when work dies down (usually starting next month). Since, for now however, I have no spare seconds much less minutes or hours I gotta make them all count. Perhaps when aliens take over life will slow down so I won't mind so much that I failed to outrun them before they took over my body/brain. -Not really, DIE YERK SCUM! 1 Quote 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - Current ChallengeNinja AssassinNo one believes our excuses but us... so let's stop making them and go accomplish something! Nnimn
Having calculated all totals I believe I have earned me a climbing/boarding trip. *and there was much rejoicing* I finished up the week strong by tromping around the perimeter of Fred Meyer to get my last few miles in (I'm sick and it was freezing rain outside) I still have today and tomorrow to work on upping my numbers for the pvp so I shan't get too fat over the weekend, despite the challenge being over. Although I didn't accomplish quite as much as I was hoping for I do feel more prepared for any random threats to the planet and/or life as we know it so I suppose we'll call this one a win. 1 Quote 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - Current ChallengeNinja AssassinNo one believes our excuses but us... so let's stop making them and go accomplish something! Jill's house is 10" tall and she likes the color blue but is allergic to cats. Astounding work, though there is the possibility of more than a centimeter of error, as it depends on the pile of the carpet... 1 Quote 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - Current ChallengeNinja AssassinNo one believes our excuses but us... so let's stop making them and go accomplish something!
