Mondays: Yoga if my body is wiped from the weekend; bodyweight routine if it’s notTuesdays: BollyX if it’s offered; some sort of speed work, a treadmill ruck, or something endurance-related if it’s notWednesdays: Free day. Bodyweight, endurance or speed work - or weightsThursdays: Yoga classFridays: Planned rest - Friday date nightsWeekends: Walk a bunch and hopefully at least once during the challenge go do something purposefully active. Can you tell I missed school? I used to despise frameworks that did all the stuff for me and wanted to either know what it was doing or be in control of what it was doing. I eventually came to appreciate frameworks like Bootstrap and #insertJavascriptLibraryNameHere because someone else did all the grunt work for me, leaving me more time for me to do the cool stuff. Bootstrap == less time worrying about pixels. Win. Ruby, PHP, Python... this will come down to personal preference. Any choice would be open to debate that boils down to religious arguments. Python typically has a shorter learning curve and I understand that it's the easiest of the three to understand for novices. Whatever. If you understand Javascript and understand objects and methods, you should be fine whichever direction you choose. Personally I'm an ecumenical developer - programming languages are tools, and I'd rather choose the tool based on the job than treat everything like a nail because all I have is a hammer. Python, PHP, Ruby, Perl, C#, Java, whatever. I just want to make stuff that works for my users. There's 20 years of professional development boiled down into $0.02. If we're going for what I actually *want* to do, probably a hybrid of all 3 .... coding is fun, I like metrics, and copywriting comes easily to me. @EricMN: I think that's more like a buck fitty. I'm still wary of Bootstrap, but am weaning myself off of the offended 'that's cheating!' gut reaction, since you're right - once I figure out how to bend Bootstrap to my will, it will make my life easier (and it's another skill in my proverbial toolbox). I'm totally not abandoning straight HTML/CSS, though, because I'm anal retentive and I actually kind of *like* freaking out over pixels. That, and I don't want to lose the skills I have through disuse. As for the other languages, that's kind of what I gathered during class, but it's good to hear it from a seasoned pro. I think I'll run around for a bit collecting at least intro course modules on some of the biggies to beef that toolbox up some more, but I need to make sure I'm keeping on top of JavaScript and growing there too, since that's the one I'm more familiar with, and what seems to be out there as a basic req for a FEWD job. The others seem to be either other reqs for more senior positions than what I'm ready for, or 'also nice to haves' for the level I'm at.
