eat well, I know how that goes, now I just gotta keep doing it.

If it goes well slowly start reducing cheese and non-paleo snacks again.

Don't stress too much if it doesn't go that well.

Accountibility: post cal total per day and median macros for the week,

log water too.

MOVE

croods001.jpg

The original plan was

workout 3x

yoga 5x

walk 3x

I'm not sure how that will hold up under pressure as I seem to forget yoga, when stressed, which is really sad, because that is the time I could really use it. Also I tried out the Crossfit Class and LOVED IT, have had the corresponding DOMs to prove it. AND I didn't connect DOMs with do yoga, I thought I had that connected, but I guess not.

MON a.m. Gym (machines, but hey better than nuthin')

TUE a.m. possible pool day alone - p.m. Crossfit

WED possible pool day with mum

THU a.m. Gym - p.m. Crossfit

FRI a.m. PT - p.m. Tabata

SUN pool day with mum (more social than exercise)

Need to figure out how to fit in going for walks and do yoga again, because Strength/Allround Workouts are so awesome atm.

you had me at "witty title" :)

your skeleton goals look good.  one thing that helped me level up in sleeping was the combination of a screen curfew and a sleep mask.  both got rid of all that ambient light that was getting in the way of some good zzzzzz.

good luck with your challenge!

quoted from my old thread:

So, apparently my weekends keep being weird for my weight loss... Thursday (or so) I was below 88 kg, today I am again at 90,2 kg. That is weird, but my weight fluctuations had baffled my midwife during both pregnancies... It's weird, I'm not fussed. It's still 5 lbs 1.1oz, I'll take it as the win it is.

Possible reasons, less fibre on the weekends, more salt compared to during the week, SAT and SUN I both drank 3L of water as an experiment, seeing how that changes how I feel. It doesn't much, but I think MAYBE I am dealing better with the cold than I would have without. No idea.

Weight-Challenge 2/16: Week 1 90,2 kg

(can't find the frikkin measuring tape... again. Maybe I should declutter some, but with all the things going on with the kids, I doubt it's realistical for the first 2 weeks at least. Food for thought.

Day 1

Ate my full budget of calories. Then had cheese and grapes and salty snacks on top of that, with the guests when we were playing a new campaign of Kingdom Death Monster instead of our customary D&D game. I'm afraid to guesstimate how much.

I'm stressing about little ones surgical procedure in the morning. It's just a tonsil thing, but he's 5, it's a full anaesthesia, I'm entitled to worry, even if unreasonable. I blame my inability to stop stuffing my face on that worrying.

I didn't finish even the first bottle (~6 cups) of water.

Workout didn't happen because of early visit at the pediatrician's.

Had some pizza that turned out to be not worth it.

Found my measuring tape, it was in the cupboard where the wand was, for no logical reason that I can fathom.

No pool day tomorrow at 6 because appointment in the hospital at 6:45.

My phone has developed an unhealthy habit of draining battery (sometimes even while charging). Which is annoying and since I have that phone for almost 18 months now (the battery is only a month old) I'm starting to feel the panic rising... can't be without my phone, what would I do without this app or that....

All bollocks of course, but distracting.

Had an artsy moment yesterday while pondering my challenge.

It is difficult to pick new targets and take aim in just this one weekend between challenges.

So far, could have gone worse. Could have gone better too.

Reasonably stressed. Not under the wheels yet.

With my challenge taking more solid form in my head now I think I'll concentrate on breathing for however long it takes to fall asleep.

I'll call it meditation, and that'll just be that.

More pics tomorrow afternoon/evening if and when I'll be on the PC.

Sending all the good vibes to your little one! That's sounds nerve wracking - even though it's a routine thing its still stressful. I think you can be forgiven some stress eating.

Okay, sigh,

We've been home for a few hour. Kid got through the surgery alright, had laryngsospasm thing in the wakeup room, which was really scary (for me) but the nurses and doctors were fixing it quickly, everyone looking very competent. Calm under pressure.

I managed all the days troubles all on my own, hubby was staying home because he really felt unwell and bleh all on his own. So he stayed home, sent child 1 to school and worried.

I'm proud of the challenges I rangered today. And am about to head out for my very first Crossfit class. Because I think I really could need a good workout.

Will maybe make a longer post tomorrow when we're home from recovery check in with the doc, and I have some PC time. IF I have some PC time.

Love you guys.

Cheers Raxie, your mojo helped.

Katrin

PS Quieted my mind with breathing last night. And today after the "child-not-breathing-incident" I called my totem animals to me and breathed in their support... Don't have the presence of mind to call them while in a dire situation yet, but oh, well.

Day 2 already meditated twice. Not a bad start, considering.

Crossfit class wasn't what I expected, no workout of the day, no do-this-within-timelimit, no circuit either... it felt a lot like my pt sessions. Bodyweight exercises, some resistence bands, and matts that's it. I'm 80+% certain both the back of my arms and my thighs will report in in very short order though. Class is, as I expected, Tue and thu 6:30-7:30 p.m. with an hour of volleyball afterwards, I'm welcome to join in if interested. Will, maybe in time. Good fun, even if it felt a bit "old-guys-club", solid workout.

And I wasn't at the bottom, everyone had trouble with one exercise orr other, and we all had strengths somewhere too...

Plus the Thu crew I was told when I chatted with trainer afterwards is training for a team mudrun in april. Guess who feels like she's right at home?

Yes, this one.

Glad I went. Really glad. Changed the whole feel of today from just so meeting every challenge that presented itself just when they pop up. To a good day.

Perspective shifted to: most crap I expect this month to hold, already rangered. I can do this!

TL'DR

I found my people. ♡

*happy*

I hope I'll get my actual challenge written out sometime this week, and that I don't drop out of the mini again halfway through.

I really like the "classes" format. Makes it easier for me to find things that are small enough to be a mini-challenge, yet not so fitnessy that I can't keep up.

This time around I'll hopefully stay on top of my reading here on the forums as well. There is so much good stuff going on...

I was at the gymnasium but there was people in the room I thought I should go to find more Crossfit-goodness, but the maintenance/cleaning person told me it wasn't the people I was looking for but a different group and the group I was after was 8-10 pm. By the the time she was done talking to me and heaping information all over me like a gardener with too much enthusiasm for turning a compost heap... I was so confused that I went home and send Trainer a message.

But I'm sad.

Message from trainer confirmed training from 8-10.

That is a depressing meme!  I hope you get to try a crossfit class soon.  For almost a year my youngest would point out a crossfit gym to me ("mom - look it, people on ropes!  look it, they are throwing balls!  look it, people jumping on boxes!  look it, look it, look it!!!!).  Finally I signed up for a mom and son personal training session so he could go inside this apparently "super fun gym."  that session?  It kicked.  my butt.  but I had fun and I could see my potential (not to mention the wake up call to my weakness was alarming) that I signed up for the beginner class the next day.  Two years later I'm still going strong.  Twice a week is all I can manage with a traveling husband unit and three boy children but I make sure I get to my xfit class and i'm always so happy when I've finished a class.  I'm not super awesome at it but I always feel like i've accomplished something.

3 Potions - Scary Proffesor Snape has a critical eye on any of the pupils, making sure none of the potion ingrediences gets "misplaced". But however eager you are at mixing and brewing... only the best will be granted even the mildest of approving glances. And only Slytherin ever get praise, of any kind. So to make it in this class, any potion must be extraordinary.

Make healthy dishes the kids and hubby like. Cook to please. Smoothies, desserts, casseroles, anything half-way-paleo or healthy or "made from scratch" dish or side dish counts, as long as at least one of my picky eaters comments in a positive fashion.

Okay Potions.... I love potions. In theory. Snape (a.k.a. the 3 males' censor voices) - not so much.

Meal planning went well so far: hubby is home sick for another week, oldest damn better help, youngest (with less pressure) damn well better help as well.

Plans (meal and otherwise) are being made, sharing here for accountability:

MON

School and Kindy for the kids,

10-11 gym intro for me

10-15min yoga afterwards, then shower and shopping

14-16 Ball gaming thing at school for older one (=late from school)

13- x grocery shopping with mum and her car (yay) (tentatively counted as a "walk")

Food: will make some smoothies me thinks... kicking off Potions Class with smoothies sounds delicious.

Skipped this because I made smoothies yesterday... older one loved it.

TUE

No pool today, the week is too full already. Ok

School yes, no Kindy,

9-12 driving around by bus for younger ones appointment

Chess in school (so kiddo is again late coming home)

14:30 dentist (I fortgot. 1h bike there and back each) switched to bus and then walk, because hail yesterday.

step counter (not including crossfit class)

Screenshot 2016 02 09 19 49 26 1

16:30-17:30 Play/Exercise for little one not home in time, because of the dentist appointment

17:30-18:30 Karate for older one

18:30-19:30 Crossfit for me :love-struck:

Hubby is home and can help with overlap and sending child to karate and babysitting and all the things)

Casserole: ham, pasta, cheese, sauce (older one will make under supervision - Was delicious, I had a taste to give him honest praise. And he made it all without help. Good kid.)

Made Blaubeerquarkspeise. That's quark (not the physics but the culinary one) with blueberries (and and some sugar). But kids were full from casserole when I came home from crossfit... they didn't want to even try... BUT It's in the fridge, it'll keep for a day or two.

WED

School and kindy for the kids

9 Immunisation (me)

10-11 ish talk with therapist about older child (Long bus ride, bring sth to read.)

14:30-17 Nutrition workshop at kindy with little one

(16:30-17:30 Play/Exercise for little one, unless we're out early we're not gonna be able to make this one) - not feasible, as expected.

17:30-18:30 18-20h Table tennis for older one - he loved it

Return rented movie

Yoga - active rest day

Food: Thinking salad for me and leftover casserole for the males... or more warmed up thai curry... so yummy.

Salad for hubby and me and bread for the kiddos

THU

School and Kindy for the kids

10-11 gym intro last session

17:30-18:30 Karate for older one kiddo skipped, and I let him.

20-22 Crossfit for me I didn't go, tired, cranky, spread too thin, bleh.

yoga - bed !!!

Food: I'd really like some fish one of these days.... salmon in cream sauce...

Food porn spoiler-hidden:

gallery_38234_1861_2621492.jpg

FRI

9-12 Physio Therapy for me (one more after this one)

walking to PT - Nope, not gonna happen.

16:00 Dentist for older one

18:30-19:00 (last) Tabata Class for me.

Yoga afterwards, then shower and feet up.

Food: Leftover fish and veggies for me. Yum.

SAT

Catch-up with chores

(Kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and such, general adulting)

Long walk 1h+ and runners yoga not done

Potentially bake buy cake for hubby's bday and the family

Food: need some comfort food right here I think... maybe a soup, or ... I don't know, something bacon wrapped or creamy... Maybe chicken skewers with that Thai (is it? Asian anyway) peanut butter sauce.... that sounds yum, and some cauliflower rice, I have been waiting to try cauliflower rice.

Hubby hates all the brassicacea, damn Prof. Snape found an angle again!

SUN

Hubby's Birthday

Potentially Pool Day (me and mum and little one)

Potentially the whole frikkin family over for tea... and dinner

Food: Toast and sunny-side-eggs for hubby for birthday breakfast, if he wants it, whatever else, needs discussion.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

The last week felt a bit like falling off the waggon. Some stress eating (MON, SAT), a lot of talking with mum at Poolday (not a lot of swimming). So I'm gonna count it as the semi-success it was: I got the kids to go where I needed them to go, and that was all over the place, and we all survived it, semi-sane. Moving on.

Next week (see plan above) will be similarly full, but hopefully not as stressful, as there is no surgery or anaestesia or anything like that.

Taken Aim. Good to go.

Katrin
