Over the course of this challenge, I will power myself up from typical woman msblt82, to super-powered awesome Sailor Neptune!  At then end of my challenge, assuming I succeed, I will change my forums name from msblt82 to something cool aND Sailor Neptune-y  ^_^

Thanks, Stealthstitcher!  Sailor Neptune was one of the first superheroes I related to (the other being Storm from the X-Men) so I decided to run with it.  ^^

That's awesome, LogicLeigh! Which one did you dress up as?  Sailor Neptune cosplay is on my list for when I reach my goal weight (and possibly sooner). ^^

Sailor Jupiter was my favourite, closely followed by Neptune! Love her hair, and always wanted mine to look like that :P

Checking in! I have not done very well on my goals this week. I have been sick. :(   Pretty much been work, bed, work, bed.  I got exercise one day, and met my 60 minutes nonscreen a couple days. Unless sleeping counts.  I'm starting to feel better so hoping next week goes better.

Thanks for checking in, LogicLeigh & LadyWitch!  I am happy to say I am better now!  I basically slept all weekend.  Kinda want my weekend back :P but at least I shook it off, and now I'm back on track with my goals. To be fair, over the past few days of being ill, I didn't do bad (unhealthy) things. I just didn't do things. I was asleep. :P

Sleep is glorious! One of these days I'm going to make all of my room mates get lost for a weekend and I'm just going to get all the naps!

Part of me hates sleep though because I could be doing other things instead of lazing about with my eyes closed mumbling about how I'm going to take over the world with an army of crickets.

Unrelated to my challenge goals but i'm like... half a pound from my first 20 lbs lost mini-goal. I'm trying to decide what I'm going to reward myself with.

Naps are so amazing, though!

I hit my first 20 lbs mini-goal!  ^_^  Still trying to figure out my reward.  It might be some new gaming stuff, or a new book.

 

Doing pretty well so far this week. I experimented with salmon and it was... okay.  Going to try it a bit differently one more time before I write it off completely. My son loved it, so that was good!

 

I realized if I follow my usual work out schedule, it might be hard to get all 3 in this week.  I got one today, I will get one Thursday, but on Saturday I have a REALLY booked day. So I might have to jam the third one in on Weds or Fri instead.  I *could* still get one done on Saturday but it would either have to be super early a.m. or late at night - I won't be home most the day!  Taking a friend to see Deadpool and to lunch for his birthday, then meeting another friend to hangout, then meeting another friend for dinner.  I'm forcefully pushing myself out of my hermit shell this next weekend!

I am so stressed out.  My depression is getting bad again, and it isn't helped by the massive amount of stress I am under at work.  I'm ashamed to say I bought and ate several cookies.  I am feeling super lonely as I always tend to be at this time of year (Valentines/social media+real life flooded with all the happy couples while I am still alone since the ex left me for his affair partner - and next week, my birthday, reminding me that another year has passed as a single parent who keeps dating people who cheat/ghost/otherwise damage my already low self esteem).

 

I've pretty much given up on my idea of happiness (partner, house, family). I'm trying to replace is with a new idea (my son, house, and... cats I guess).  I'm just so lonely, guys.  If it wasn't after hours I'd go work out or something to distract myself (the bain of my court mandated child free weekend, way too much time to think).  I did make a lot of plans tomorrow - I'll be on the go from 8am until probably 10-or-11pm.  But I'm so anxious about those plans I've almost cancelled them numerous times today despite having already purchased movie tickets etc.

 

I'm sorry, this all really has nothing to do with the four week challenge.  But I find myself in the position of not really feeling like I have anyone to talk to. I've lost a lot of friends who just get tired of my depression.  So then I hide it better, make new friends/rekindle lapsed friendships, but then it gets bad again and people back off.  I feel like no one really has my back except for me.  And it's lonely.  Michiru needs her Haruka and all her senshi friends, ya know?

Best I could come up with in a quick search ...

I wouldn't say this has nothing to with your challenge - mental health affects physical health. And the whole point of having this community is to get the support we need to get healthier and happier and better. (And where else are we going to hang out with people who get our anime references?)

I know internet friends aren't the same as real life friends you can hang out with in person, but that doesn't mean you can't develop actual friendships here. After all, the senshi weren't friends before they discovered their true identities and began working together. Your team just needs to awaken and find you. True companions don't ditch when it gets hard.

I wish I had wiser words of wisdom - but hang in there through the tough weekend; it will end. Don't give up on happiness but don't feel like you're failing if you can't see it coming. And don't be scared to tell people what you need from them.

I second everything stealthstitcher said. This has everything to do with your 4 Week Challenge; so please, always feel free to share it here, if you feel you've no one else to go to (and even if you do, we're always happy to lend an ear).

 

I know you're hurting bad right now, so I don't know how much this'll mean, but for what it's worth, you're very strong for pushing forward in spite of all that's happened to you. Depression's not easy to deal with – I would know, because I've been fighting it just as you have â€“ but the fact that you've kept trying to stand back up after every time you fallen down, that right there shows your true Courage, your true Determination.

 

You might feel worthless, but you're not: you have worth to us here, your friends, your son, and worth just being alive. You have worth. You might feel unlovable, but you're not: people can do stupid things, and break our hearts. It doesn't make you a bad person, all it means was that you just happened to be in a bad situation. You might feel like you have no direction, lost in the shadows, but you'll forge your own way with every step forward you take. You're not alone, we'll all be here by your side.

 

It'll take a while, you won't just start feeling better overnight, but little by little, you'll find your own happiness. That's the hope I'm holding onto for myself, and the hope I hold onto for you, and all my friends. It'll take action, but it can be done. The future can be changed into one you wish to live.

 

And here's a song I like to listen to when either I'm feeling down, or just want to relax:

 

You can do it, msblt! Your Afterglow is coming back to light, with every step you take. It's okay to hurt, always allow yourself to feel your feelings, just keep pushing forward. And give yourself the time to rest that you'll need sometimes.

Oh, and on a related note, I highly encourage you to keep those plans with your friends, if you're okay with it. I know the urge to hide away is strong, but the social interaction should help you from feeling even more isolated than you already feel. That's what always trips me up even more when I'm feeling down: I hide away. And the longer I hide away, the harder it is to come back, and thus the longer I end up hiding away. So please, I urge you, don't make the same mistake I've made a lot in the past. It's okay to have time to yourself if you need it, but try to still keep in regular contact with those you care about.

Wil, I did keep my plans, and they made for a good day.

 

I've been working hard on trying to keep my mood even.  I'm having... mostly success.  It really helps when I get good sleep, good food, good exercise, and get to be social.

 

Trying to finish off this challenge strong!  I don't really know what goals I will set for the next one.

 

My birthday is Sunday, so I have fun plans on Fri/Sat/Sun.  Gonna try to stay mostly on track, but I am going to allow myself some special occasion indulgences.
