Quest 1 Kettle bells (+3 Str, +2 Con)
626 is still in full swing so I'm going to keep after it.  My goal is to push all my weights to +5lbs than their current level. 

Weight goals

  • Swing 55lb
  • Press 45lb
  • TGU 45lb

 

Quest 2 Running (+2 Dex, +2 Sta)
I've a trail half marathon during this challenge (2/20) so I'm hoping to run it strong (beat my previous time of 2:31:56)

 

Going to keep running - Saturday runs shall be 7 miles/8 miles/13.1miles/7 miles over the next few weeks. 

 

Quest 3 Wild card (+2 Wis, +1 Dex)

Each day I'm going to roll a d6 and do an activity involving the result

  1. roll again - double activity number (do only once)
  2. 10 pushups
  3. 10 body weight squats
  4. 10 tricep dips
  5. 30 second plank
  6. 30 second side plank - alternating sides

Life Quest Travel planning (+2 Wis, +2Chr)
The wife and I have booked tickets to go to Italy! We now need to start planning and probably learn some basic Italian. 

  • plan 3 activities/todos (+1 Wis, +1 Chr)
  • learn six Italian phrases (+1 Wis, +1 Chr)

Quest 1 Kettle bells

KB Triple Cross this morning (info behind spoiler tag)

 

Did managed the first set of swings with my 55lb! Pretty sure I could've done all three sets had it been the first or second circuit.

Each circuit 3 times

Circuit 1

10 Bent Knee Reverse Crunches w/ hold at top L
10 Bent Knee Reverse Crunches w/ hold at top R
10 Clean and press L
10 Clean and press R
 

Circuit 2

10 KB Figure 8 to hold (5 each side)
10 V-Up
10 KB Bicep Curl to Overhead press to Tricep extension
10 Plank Knee to Elbow (5 each side holding for 2 sec at elbow)
 
Circuit 3
25 KB swings
2 TGU L
2 TGU R
25 Side V-Up L
25 Side V-Up R

I've got my weekend run and supplement runs planned out

Rolled double 1s ... so going to call this a "free" day.

2016-2-3 Week 1 Day 3

Quest 1 Kettle bells

Tabata workout (20s on, 10s rest) which kicked my butt.

Feel like I'm stalling on my progression as I struggled with my heavier weights today. I THINK it might be due to working out 7 days a week

Quest 2 Running

Workout at camp was Super Bowl which is a sprinting workout . We did 12 sprints with 10second breaks between each sprint then did some TRX ... and repeat for 40ish minutes. :)

Quest 3 Wild card

1d6 = 4! and BOOM dips

Managed 6 30sec side planks yesterday ... 30 seconds felt like long time.

Quest 1 Kettle bells

No KBs today just TRX which was Oblique Crusher! Won't lie it lived up to its name as my sides are THRILLED currently ... ugh

Quest 2 Running

Got in 2 miles before TRX!

Quest 3 Wild card

1d6 = 6! another day of side planks ... oh boy ... 

Yesterday was 5 sets of dips - triceps felt it!

no pre camp running but we did Fumble which is basically fetch X_x so 2+ miles of sprinting goodness!

Sounds like a good day, even though 5 minutes of planks is not something I would ever want to do. Ever.

 

No problem! DuoLingo is fun, so long as it doesn't try to teach you to say you are a yellow horse. Or that you don't have soap for said yellow horse.

Knocked out a TOUGH 6 miler on Saturday afternoon - which was additionally tough as I usually run in the AM

Week 2 will see me deload to a minimum of 40lbs for the majority of my work and try to build from there.

Got in a decent amount of running -sadly my Saturday run was only 6 miles :\

2016-2-8 Week 2 Day 1
Quest 1 Kettle bells
Shifted gears with 626 to new workouts starting this week. Today was Single Arm Insanity

Single Arm Insanity
1 minute of each exercise - switch side after completing an entire side circuit - repeat 4 times

  • Single Arm Swing
  • Turkish GetUp
  • High Pull
  • Sit up w/ weight straight up
  • Single side squat
  • Bentover Row

I did all of the above with my 40lb !
 
Quest 2 Running
No REAL running today ... boot camp was Instructor on the Ball  - we were broken up into teams and given kettlebells (25lbs for me) and we would do various kb exercises while one member of the team did ab exercises with the instructor. After the team was done we'd sprint. 

 

Exercises with the instructor were 

50 sits ups with jab/straight at top
50 donkey kicks on each side
50 reverse crunches
25 squat thrusts

While you waited to go work with your instructor you did KB work in sets of 20 of each exercise  

Bicep Curl + Squat

Deadlifts + Overhead Press

Straight arm Overhead Raises+Tricep Press

Between the leg pass+Situp with overhead touch

1d6 = 2! Push ups!  X_x

Only 6 miles, he says. :tongue: My weekend runs are usually 5 miles, although I'm upping them to 6 miles this month. Got a 10M to train for in May.

I used to run 8 routinely ... want to get back to that PLUS I've a trail half marathon coming up.

2016-2-9 Week 2 Day 2
Quest 1 Kettle bells

No 626 today.

 
Quest 2 Running
2 miles of running before camp.

 

Camp was Core Blast which was basically doing a given number/time of an ab exercise then sprint to a given point and back ... and repeat. Did another ~2.3 miles of running at camp! 

 

Quest 3 Wild card
50 pushups yesterday

1d6 = 3 = body weight squats ... good times

2016-2-10 Week 2 Day 3
Quest 1 Kettle bells

Today was Halo Up Buttercup - 3 rounds of each circuit and 1 minute per exercise

Circuit 1

  • Deadlift (55lb)
  • Up and Over (45lb)
  • Half Windmill Right (no weight due to elbow pain)
  • Half Windmill Left

Circuit 2

  • Single Arm Swing L (55lb)
  • Swing Arm Swing R (55lb)
  • 2 Halo Left - 2 Halo Right (45lb)

Quest 2 Running

Some minor running at camp which was 4 to the Floor - we did 4 exercises of a similar type but each one got you closer to the ground ... so squats, squat thrusts, burpees, pushups were one series we did for example.

 

Quest 3 Wild card

40 body weight squats yesterday

 

1d6 = 2 = pushups ... ugh!
