DarK_RaideR
I hope the ground stabilizes soon.It did, but it was neither pretty nor easy. I have to admit, I wasn't the best me I could be for the SRLF and I was mostly the one to blame. Didn't do anything wrong per se, but it's mostly about the things I did not do. Negligence, not criminal intent, to use the legal lingo. Looking at myself in the (metaphorical) mirror wasn't pretty but it was necessary. In a few cryptic phrases, I need to man up about some issues and realize that others I consider insignificant have -sometimes dire- importance and consequences for others. Cool race, awesome cat and back to the wrestling?!?!? Wahoo! I too hope things get stabilized and you are happy! Thanks for checking in Terra. I haven't been keeping up with your thread that much this challenge, but I'm stalking and liking and catchung up whenever I can. Names are are hard...but I know you'll come up with something fitting That pic is great. Beard looks great. What about Ripley (don't know why that popped in my head)? Or take a name from the Warriors books. Here. Thanks Wolfie. Since the doctor told me the cat needs about a month to settle in, I'm waiting for him to relax so I can notice his actual, unstressed behavior and come up with a fitting name. It doesn't help that he's already neutered and can't mark his territory, but he has chilled. At least when we're alone, he seems to go bananas when the SRLF is around for some reason. DarK_RaideR
Day 10: Wednesday, Feb. 10th Nutrition: 1/1 Sugar, 2/2 Cheese, Some Complex CarbsWent out in the afternoon with the SRLF to sort things out. I won't go into details, some stuff was mentioned in my previous post, but what's related to the goal is we ended up in my favorite irish pub where we shared a platter of irish breakfast, including toasted bread and pudding. I also had a pint of Guiness to go with it. Not feeling too bad about it, considering the circumstances and how it wasn't that big of a slip. Workouts: 1/3Finished work early, had 2-3 hours ahead with no internet at work due to mainframe maintainance so I decided instead of staring at the wall for that time, working out and seeing the SRLF late at night, I left the office and met up with her early in the evening. I'll make up for it by training on Friday, which was supposed to be a rest day. Study: NopeJust, nope. CatAfter a few days of the SRLF not being around, I thought he was chill but he freaked out at night again when she returned, so I know something's going on. He's probably jealous. DarK_RaideR
Day 11: Thursday, Feb. 11th Nutrition: 2/1 Sugar, 2/2 Cheese, Some Complex CarbsTook a day off work, had a proper breakfast, Domestic-Rangered the house because my father would be arriving at night and then re-slept. Woke up ravenous just half an hour before my doctor appointment, so I caved in and grabbed a cold cheeseburger from the pastry shop downstairs as I rushed to be on time. Went out for dinner after I picked up dad from the airport, my plate had rice and veggies on the side. I also ate a bit of orange cake with ice cream that was offered as dessert. Not a great week on this goal, but considering the turbulence, I'm managing just fine. Workouts: 1/3Rest day Study: NopeI studied during class again! Finished the textbook and about 30 pages of class notes from last year. These notes will save my life for that class. I gotta go grab the other textbook and be more systematic about my studies, not much time left! CatDad was really cool about the kitty being around, as long as it didn't bug him during sleep. Marking this a success. I slept on the sofa with the cat laying next to my feet. He did give me a stubborn bite after plenty of petting in the morning though. I was thrown off my pace, but it was a learning experience and I do have so many challenges above, including another potential trail race on the 28th. Great run (i would enter just for the views you would get there)Great cat name (i can just envision the multitude of puns made possible)Great you worked out things with SRLF. The "thing" that keeps me up onto my feet these days is: "even little progress is progress". Hope you may find some "rest" with it too!Since I walked most of the race, I did indeed enjoy the scenery. When registering however, I had no idea it would be like that or that snow would be involved. As for the SRLF we had another series of rough territory until yesterday. Won't get into details, but we got dangerously close to breaking up. No bueno. Week 2 in a nutshell NutritionThis was one of the many things (along with sleep and my overall mental state) that fell apart due to the tension between the SRLF and myself. On top of it, I had my father visiting from Thursday night until Sunday morning, so I had to take him out and the options weren't always in my favor. Cheese consumption was kept to a minimal. Complex carbs were out of control but it's not like I went completely bananas either. I did have something sugary almost every day, but like I mentioned it was usually the free dessert which was minimal. It's not like I fell into a habit again. All in all, the numbers are terrible but they only tell half the story. I'm ready to get back on track and conquer week 3! Workouts: 2/3Didn't manage to do the 3rd workout on Saturday. StudyGot plenty of work done, especially on Thursday. With the situation between the SRLF and me finally settling down (for good, I hope) and having talked to her about my upcoming exams and how I've fallen behind and am therefore stressed, I'm confident I can start to be a bit more systematic about it this week. CatJabba caused minimum trouble while my father was around and half of it was because dad wasn't yet familiar with the new terms of having an animal in the house, such as remembering to keep certain doors shut etc. He seemed to like him and today I got a mail from my mom that he told her I have a beautiful cat, so I sent her an image. With all that said and done, I think the "defend the kitty" part of this quest is done. Next is to buy some extra gear which I'm getting today, then booking his big vet appointment. 9 Quote Lvl 45 Ranger HEY! DO YOU LIKE CHEESE? Link to post

I'm still happy I only ordered one souvlaki when I was in Heraklion a few years ago. I still couldn't finish it. I fell into the temptation of a small cookie and half a piece of cake yesterday when I was out for coffee. I think I'll just avoid places that offer you free dessert or cookies with your coffee. Copious amount of free dessert last time, luckily in summer, were a huge platter with ice-cream and kadayif.
