as many of you know i've had a rough go as of late, but that is no excuse. if you want to kill a god, you have to train like one. and i'm not talking about sayians... sorry goku

no, you have to start as a Spartan and be fearless. go at life and battle with reckless abandon. 

 

that journey begins.....now.

 

i'm setting 3 goals this challenge. each week will be pass/fail. no points, no bullshit, no excuses. either i succeed or i don't.4 weeks is one month, and i'm already a day late. so there can be no more delay.

 

FOOD: whenever i'm down or struggling with life my diet does as well. that stops now. i'm giving myself 2 options. either i stick to keto hardcore 5 days a week.. OR... i stick to a truly wholesome diet 6 days a week. by wholesome i basically mean paleo lite. i'll allow things like oatmeal yogurt and whey.....i'm thinking keto, but thinking about giving paleo a real run, so i'm debating a semi test run here.

TRAINING: I've been slacking, excuses be damned, for far too long. so starting today, i must do a minimum of 2 workouts per week. i don't care if they're in a gym, park, or house. but i must do something twice a week. even if it's just a full blown cardio day. i don't think this is too much to ask for.

 

NF: this isn't workout related, but i feel it necessary. you guys have been a great help and support to me during both my highs and lows. including my lowest point where i was mid competition with Dark_Raider in a PvP and fell off the grid. this wasn't fair to him, you guys that were following along, or myself. as much as i wanted to win, i'm pretty certain he was gonna walk away with the W. what sucks the most is now we'll never know what would've happened. i do know that that challenge pushed me pretty damn hard against myself. i said all that to say this: i have to check in on here at least 3 times a week. doesn't matter if it's on my thread or someone else's or both(preferably both). when i'm active here it motivates me more. it also makes me want to motivate others. this community is infectious.

 

so let's get ready to storm Olympus....

Day 1: striking class. i cant remember everything but here's a basic run down.

 

50 jumping jacks, squat thrusts, jack knives

6 mins of partner (locking legs) sit ups - 2 sets of 3 mins

 

oh my god i don't even know how many kicks to air and bags alike.

 

body conditioning trading leg kicks, push kicks, then body shots with partner.

 

3 rounds of 3 mins of med-light sparring.

 

i'm sure there was more, but i truthfully cannot remember.

thanks for all the love you guys. it truly means the world to me. so i forgot, that yesterday(although my day one as a thread) was actually day 2 this challenge. i started keto-ish diet monday, AND ran 1.25 miles. so i've hit my quota on workouts already this week.. HOW-EV-ER i'm going back to my gym tomorrow for kickboxing so i'll surpass my quota.

haha thanks man. my goal for this year is to be in good enough shape to be Kratos. even if i don't do it for actual halloween, i want to be able to. plus, GoW is my favorite game series.

workout tonight:

kickboxing from 6:15-7:20

 

5-6 mins of jump rope. i've sucked at this my entire life

7 different footwork drills going the length of the mat 4 times. at the end of each drill 5 jumping jacks, 5 squat thrusts, 5 jackknives.

2-5 min rounds of sparring with a 30s plank in between each

 

literally at the bell of round two this cut i've had on my head for a couple days got ripped open.--no more sparring for me for the night. can't get blood everywhere. 

 

15 jj, st, jk.

 

after cleaning that up, 3-3 min rounds of jab, right hand, front kick. 

3-3 min rounds on the heavy bag throwing all combinations.

then 2 min slant drills-- 5,5,5 in between each round. 

 

fin.
