Wha...?

@wovercast already applied I think!

Myprotein.com...pretty sure I paid around $5 last time I bought some.

EDIT: Your shit is a lot more than just creatine monohydrate, hence why you're paying a lot more.

Pure. I put it on Amazon's Sub&Save and get it for about $18 per 1000g at my doorstep.

Would it be better to just get the straight up creatine monohydrate?

Does your guys taste like shit? #supplifefail

It's a face shield thing..... There's like 18 different ways to wear it or something. And my jacket lost a button at the top and I can't find it to sew back on.

Creatine monohydrate has pretty much no taste. I get mine unflavored and usually have it with flavored protein shakes or BCAAs. BCAAs aren't the greatest tasting, even the blue razz that I have. But my creatine usually dissolves before I even get around to shaking it up.

Monday 2/8/16

Goal 1: GET FAT
Breakfast: 2 slices toast w/ peanut butter and protein spread, 2 eggs, 3 egg whites
Lunch: 3 slices Hawaiian pizza
Snack: cottage cheese, hummus, carrots, apple
Workout: glucose, BCAAs, PWO shake
Dinner: sushi, pumpkin bar
Estimated macros: P/F/C = 141/59/232
Still a little low on everything. Trying to find the balance between having the discipline to track and being anal about tracking.

Goal 2: GET BIG
Creatine before bed. Blech. Gives me an icky taste in the mouth.

Goal 3:
Did not walk yesterday because it was snowing in the morning and all day. Drove today because I have to go back and forth between buildings. Maybe tomorrow?

Life Goal 1:
My hair was in a headband because my hair tie broke, like IMMEDIATELY upon arriving to work. So my hair was done, but then it wasn't.

LG2:
No further progress.

TO DO LIST THIS WEEK:
Put items on craigslist
Finish astronaut application
Eat like an adult

^Eating like an adult has happened so far. It is mardi gras tonight though, so we'll see.

I know you measure out your portions very well, but I am confused how you get to 59 Fat with PB on two slices of toast, 2 eggs, and 3 slices of pizza.  My morning PB sandwich is 36.

It is based on how long it takes to go through a jar (Servings per jar divided by days between jars) and I can take a picture of what my knife looks like.

On peanut butter?

Yeah, I use a food scale on things that are calorie dense because it is WAY easy to eat 300 cals of peanut butter vs 150 cals of peanut butter without even realizing it. Same for butter, oil, mayo, etc. The difference between a 40g fat peanut butter sandwich and a 20g fat peanut butter sandwich is not as much peanut butter as most people would think.

But you may not need to be that careful. I only the other hand love any excuse to pretend I didn't just put a godly amount of PB on my bread.

But you may not need to be that careful. I only the other hand love any excuse to pretend I didn't just put a godly amount of PB on my bread.

When I re-started my MFP log about one year ago, I typed in "Peanut Butter Sandwich" and it gave me an entry with 300 calories.  A couple of months in, I realized that was a pretty small number considering a slice of bread was about 100 and a "serving" of PB was about 200.  So I entered two slices of bread and 1 "serving" of PB for a total of 420.

Then I checked my serving size against the jar of PB.  The jar contains about 60 servings and it was taking about 30 days to go through it, so each swipe was 2 servings.  Each slice of bread takes one serving.  So now I enter my PB sandwich as 2 slices of bread and 2 "servings" of PB.

The label defines 1 "serving" as 2 TBSP.  Since mL > TBSP, this would be about 30 mL.  That would mean I cover a slice of bread with 100 cm² with a 3 mm coating of PB.  That would be about 1/8 of an inch and my PB sandwich would have about 1/4 inch of PB in it.

So measuring out one "serving" would have saved me a few months of finding out.

Also, the blunt honesty in pointing out that is a lot of PB is appreciated and it is very likely an easy thing to cut and it is very likely I will not even miss it.

Consistency is more important than the actual numbers in MFP. If you are consistent in what you deem a serving and your measurements go up or down, you react accordingly. It's all various shades of estimation we're doing here.

I was just saying that it sounds entirely likely for MM to be hitting sub-60g fat with those meals if she not, in fact, using a quarter cup of peanut butter on her toast.

Hmm....

231 cubic inches to a US Gallon.  Divide by 4.

57.75 cubic inches to a Quart.  Divide by 4.

14.4375 cubic inches to a Cup.  Divide by 4.

3.609375 cubic inches to a Quarter of a Cup.

Any other metric trolls in on this discussion?

Absolutely, food scales for sandwiches are the best. Weigh bread (I often buy round loaves or things with uneven slice sizes), zero scale, add (meat/cheese/peanut butter/whatever), zero scale, repeat.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Weighing bread is a terrible measure unless you can also measure the widely variable moisture levels in bread.

You rang?

Waiting for one more.......

......but 60 mL is a lot of PB to put on a sandwich, so I will do another jar check to find out what is going on.
