lucky fire dragon Posted February 11, 2016 Author Report Share Posted February 11, 2016 Day 9 of gravity done first thing in the morning, yesssssss 4 sets of10 slow mountain climbers10 climber taps10 alternate leg and arm raises this time I did take breaks in between, dragon getting smarter Also warmed up with a few rounds of sun salutations as my calves (and thighs too for some reason) were stiff as boards this morning, sloooooow stretches, it felt like sun salutation on slow motion... and did the job, they are much better now, still somewhat stiff but I can walk the stairs normally again I also made sure to press my fingers into the mat more than my wrist and my right wrist rewarded me with good cooperation throughout the sets and even during the 90 sec plank hold that was part 2. Baby steps for happy wrists Pole training will be due soon and checking how I can love my wrist better there, too. But first I have to take hubby to Munich for his flight and get work in still... well if not today, tomorrow it will be. It's the down dog part that helps. Just hold downward facing dog for a while, maybe gently bending one knee and stretching the other calf,... that's heaven for stiffness there I think tonight I will lie down with my yoga strap though for some nice stretches that way, had completely forgotten about that option. Big blessing it was school holidays as normally that exact train would be filled to the brim with school kids! Also being one of the main carneval days lots of people had taken leave from work,... very fortunate for those. Thanks It's a struggle right now, so I really feel you there. The 30 days of gravity are helping me hang on. Thanks for this cheer, I do need to face the pole again soon as well!! Mrs Van Posted February 12, 2016 Report Share Posted February 12, 2016 ugh DOMS from those lunges yesterday.... have to kick myself real hard in the butt to do ANYTHING today Also a bit down as my dad in law is not well at all in fact we got hubby a flight to SA tomorrow to stay for a bit over a week as we really don't know how long we will have his Dad with us still. Could stabilize again, could go quickly... so hard to tell. He had a kidney removed due to cancer a few months ago and had a pace maker set, which all seemed to work fine, but now the remaining kidney is giving trouble, the blood pressure going too low due to that and on top of it all he might have pneumonia. So praying for him to stay strong enough for us to see him once more!! We can only go with the whole family in August though and as that might be too late, hubby now cancelled all his work and is flying tomorrow. Too precious a time to miss! Let's hope it's a beautiful visit AND dad recovers and we can all see him in August... So a bit busy with logistics around all this and keeping spirits as high as momentarily possible. The big train accident just round the corner from us yesterday didn't help either.... fortunately it's school holidays and there were a lot less people on those trains than normally, still 10 died and 80 got injured, feeling so grateful all our friends and family stayed safe. My sister in law normally uses that very train but for some reason took the car that day as an exception. Gotta appreciate every day we have with our loved ones!! So sorry to hear about your father in law. I hope and pray that things work out, and you can all see him again in August. My dad in law is so much better it seems like a miracle A few days ago his blood pressure responded already well to new medication and his appetite came back, 2 days ago they were able to move him from ICU to the regular ward, yesterday his breathing had returned to so normal they took the oxygen mask off and even sent him home!! He is still resting of course, but took a few first walking steps today and I think he is basking in all his children being there to see him. And they are basking in every minute with him, appreciating so much how well he is coming along. It was such a good idea of hubby to stuff work and simply fly out to see him (and how blessed we are to be able to afford it) and how beautiful that they are now having a much better time over there than expected.We do know that there is no telling how long it will last, but then again, how can you ever tell that... so everyone is very peaceful with whatever will happen from here. Just the more precious to enjoy the happiness now My daughter is training for two weeks as an intern at a theatre stage and having an absolute ball over there The first week she spent in the arts workshop doing beautiful paintings and drawings (she sent me some pics) and carving a wooden stencil pattern in the style of these royal flower patters - stunning. At night she watched the theater shows every evening for free and this week she gets to spend time with the actors, make-up artists and other departments. It's very exciting for her as she is pondering heading that way professionally after school and this will give her good impressions. Took a lot of training but it's totally doable. Keep going on your knee tucks and do negatives of the inversions that helps too. I have started some more conscious stretching for my wrists, yes. And then when it's enough I kind of get disgusted with myself and movement, healthy food and all that is really inviting and exciting again all of a sudden Sunday I therefore caught up with my gravity workouts: Day 11 - 4 sets of 40 side to side backfists20 shoulder taps in plank40 sec speed bag punches (in the air) followed by 3 sets of push ups to failure 10 - 30 sec6 - 20 sec5 - 19 sec added Day 12 as that was balance and therefore less hard core 20 sec knee raise each side20 sec knee raise press each side20 sec balance stand (think scale pose) each side followed by 100 half jacks (and some down dog for calf stretching, I am getting wiser here, ha!)to warm up for 2 min side split stretch seeing as I could count the 21 push ups from the day 11 workout for our mini challenge, I realized, I could train some headstand while at that and had a PR of holding it free for 7 seconds!!!!!!!!!!! Video of proof coming, very excited Also did some hanging leg and knee lifts - mini challenges just keep pushing for more, I so love them and a few dreaded push up burpees to craft my fancy jedi weapon... it might take me a while... So all in all a really good week! Dad in law so much betterKids had wonderful holidays and on Sunday we went to the movies watching Robinson Crusoe and afterwards goofed around at the playpark with rings and bars and see-saws and swings for fresh air after the cinemaWork is easing down now and we will soon have a wonderful team in place taking over all the many admin things I had been doing, plus translation, book sales, ahhhhh I will have TIME for so many yummy things!! Don't know yet how strongly it will affect our income, but something tells me it will all be good and there is no need to worry Workout summary: pole training 1/2darebee gravity training 6/7mini challenge activities - done something for all parts except the recipe one. lucky fire dragon Posted February 15, 2016 Author Report Share Posted February 15, 2016 Started the fresh week with a great workout first thing Day 13 core 3 sets of 8 sit ups20 sec hollow hold8 sitting twists8 sit ups 20 sec hollow hold8 x pilates hundreds (well I didn't think they'd mean 800 arm pumps, so I went for 8 breath cycles, with 5 arm pumps on each inhale and each exhale, so it was like 80s instead of 100s, but boy it was definitely enough for me ) This one reaaally challenged me. Hollow hold had the legs nearly vertical after a while as I couldn't hold it hollow otherwise anymore, but who cares, it will make me stronger anyhow Afterwards I added some headstands again for the simple happiness of them and managed 8 SECONDS HOLD Also used the "warmed-up" abs for some more knee tucks and 5 very heavy leg lifts for the mini and did 5 of the dratted push up burpees. Only 40 more to go haha, but I WILL get that hilt drafted!! Tonight was pole class and I managed the whole choreo twice without slipping or stuffing up!!! HAII I don't know how others are structuring exactly yet, it's just a little strange to me that it says 4 weeks but is actually always a little less now and ugh, I am just so used to thinking in weeks. Saw Mr Willes turning his challenge into a seven week one stretching it over two challenges and having a good break to draft up the one after that and that looks like another good option to me too.
