Next stop 330.Way to go Junior! The strong really is coming through! 1 Quote Link to comment

Annabelle
After a year and a half-ish of not lifting regularly (read: at ALL) I went ahead and got mine wrapped up today. I don't remember where I was before on my lifts, but I feel like these are better? Squats might be pretty par to where I was before I stopped lifting, and I think I'd barely broken 100lbs in deadlifting before this run. I've always struggled with bench presses, so I was pretty happy with that (even if I completely botched the third attempt because I got cocky and couldn't move the bar >.>) 1 Quote "Even if you don't make it all the way, those last 10 seconds of trying and not getting anywhere - that's where you gain the most strength." - Jessie Graff Meet Me (old) | Twitter | Current Challenge | Mindset Module Diary Link to comment
Brovatar Korra
Yeaaaaah first place in weightlifting! As in, first to record results. I was super happy because although they were not my heaviest lifts, they were highest I've hit so far with halfway decent technique. SpecialSundae
Okay, probably not the right place to ask this, but how does the Sinclair formula work? In theory, to beat Niccolo (which I won't do, but this is a theoretical), I'd have to lift almost the same as him as a woman 40kg lighter... which doesn't seem right! Am I misunderstanding something along the line? Quote Link to comment
msuroo
Sinclair doesn't normalize between women and men. The women's Sinclair ratio is to get to what you would theoretically lift as a 75+, where the men's Sinclair ratio is to get to what Niccolo would lift as a 105+. I think I saw a rough swag on Reddit that you would multiply a women's Sinclair by 1.44 to normalize to men's, but that's not a perfect science either since Sinclair is based on WRs and the women's world records still aren't as mature. SpecialSundae
So if guys are competing for the NF weightlifting crown, they're almost certain to beat the women (I think Angela hitting PBs is the only one who could beat Niccolo's total)? As I say, even if I do the weightlifting comp this time, I'm brand new and doing it for lolz, but that seems oddly unfair. Edited to add: I've just never noticed this before because I'd never looked at the weightlifting side of things other than a "Ooh, look! Someone won!" glance. 1 Quote Link to comment
