Cruising

I want to convince my husband to take me on a cruise early next year, probably to the Caribbean.  Can anyone suggest a good itinerary, cruise line, specific ship, etc.?

 

He's a little leery of being stuck on a ship in the middle of the ocean.

I like Royal Caribbean.  Lots of choices, you'll always have something to do on the ship.  I'd say any itinerary works, except something that goes to Jamaica.  Worst island I've been to.

I did a cruise when I was younger to Mexico, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman. Grand Cayman was absolutely beautiful and one of the most fun excursions we did was there swimming with stingrays. Dunns River Falls in Jamaica was crowded but also a blast. Jamaica itself isn't the best though, kinda dirty and people harassing tourists. We also did an offroad jeep tour in Playa del Carmen. Your group of 3-4 get your own jeep and go along a dirt road witha few mud holes to come to some Mayan ruins. it was fun, but like anything it had built in tourist traps. Walking around Grand Cayman was the probably the best non super touristy thing I did. While I had fun, this trip actually taught me not to do exactly what the tourist agency wants you to do. They will try to nickle and dime you at every turn and half of your time at the sites will be dealing with people there just to prey on tourists.
