Jedi's Epic Lightsaber Journey

Recommended Posts

CONGRATULATIONS!!! :D I am VERY MUCH EXCITE for you! I'm sure the wedding planning on top of trying to graduate is definitely going to increase your stress level, but with your good choices every day, it should work out in the end.

Oh yeah. But I'm super excited about it (for now xD) and I get 3 1/2 months after I graduate to plan without having school to deal with as well.

congratulations

Thanks :)

Yesterday's food thing was that I did not eat a second cookie or other dessert since I'd had one at lunch. Overall, food was pretty good :)

Went on a short run in my yard. Not excellent, but wet yard was like running in sand. And allergies were inhibiting my breathing a bit. Next time, letting meds start to work x_x

Saturday's good choice- not overdoing it at Cici's pizza buffet of cheapness. The breadsticks are heaven. I had several, but most of my pizza was flatbread, one had spinach, and all were small pieces. Dessert was chill too. My lunch that day was super low calorie and carb so I was okay for one day.

Sunday's good choice- Um... My food choices all day? I did really well and ate well all day. I was super proud of myself.

Sunday I also went for a run.

Last week's summary-

Food choices- Yupp, got them all

Workouts- 2/4. You dummy

Stretching- all 6 of the days I'd planned to

Programming- Got that all done too. And made up for the week before.

This week's programming will probably be done on Friday. My ability to eat good foods is going strong, and I'm super proud of myself. Stretching for today is done, as is my workout. Foods are all planned, as is homework and everything else I need to do. Yuck.

I think I'm going to retire Aria for a while. I have SO MUCH going on in my life right now that I can't focus on her story. Sorry guys, I was super excited about it. But with midterms, classes in general, papers, projects, sorority stuff, work, and now wedding planning, I'm overbooked. I can't handle more on my plate right now.

I'm super stressed right now because I had to leave my ring at the jewelers. 1) I've never used this jeweler before and all I have to go on is a bunch of good reviews and the fact that they've managed to stay in business since the 1940's. I seriously hope I get all the pretty diamonds and white gold back properly. If I do, then they will have my undying loyalty since they're taking a size 8 ring and making it a 5 1/2 for my tiny fingers. If they can get it back before I go try on wedding dresses next Friday, I'll be even happier. 2) I've only been engaged for 5 days. It doesn't feel real most days and now I don't even have my ring to prove it to myself that I'm not crazy and that I actually am engaged to the love of my life. That it's actually happening. All I have is a wedding planning notebook, a Facebook status, and a bunch of pictures that I almost can't believe are of me.

I've also got a selection of things that I'm stressing over that I am literally just ignoring, simply because I can't deal with it right now. For example, figuring out where to live once my fiance(OMG!?!!!!?!!!!?!) gets a new job up in my neck of the woods since he'll probably end up with a job in a city around an hour away from me and you people have no idea how freaked out the idea of a commute that long for either of us makes me (not much between the two cities unfortunately, I've checked). Also how I'm going to get him to get me the information for the people he wants as guests. Long distance is frustrating in this instance especially when we have rather different schedules. Also availability of venues. Once the venues are booked, I'll feel a bit better. I can compromise on a lot, but there's only but so many venues near the church I grew up in and I don't want my guests to drive forever if avoidable. Urgh. I'm a ball of stress today.

I'm sorry you're so stressed. That's a lot on your plate at once! But you're doing really well with your challenge goals. Just breathe and take one day at a time, k? :) *hug*

Thanks :) I feel a lot better after I spoke to my manager (he's local to the area) and had good things to say about the jeweler. I already know that it's going to be super stressful in my head for the next year or so until I get married, but I'm super ready for it. Aside from the fact that I'm going to be the center of attention for a while, I'm not good at that. xD

I think I'm going to rethink some of my goals to prepare for next go-round. I've got a lot on my plate, and I really don't think that everything I'm doing is really going to help me in this new direction.

First of all, I regret to announce that my secret summer project is now canceled. It was going to be low-key expensive, and I've decided that I'd rather spend time at Disney World for my honeymoon. Thus, my exercise goals have changed. Instead of trying to prep my body for a beginner pole dancing class (ta-da! my secret summer project), I'm going to be doing more general prep so I can feel great at my wedding.

One of the things I'm going to drop completely for now after this challenge is the extra yoga. It's not helping much and I'm not really feeling it. I actually think I might drop it now and keep stretching. I'd like to be a bit more flexible but the yoga isn't really useful for the most part.

I'm also wondering what I'm going to do with lifting. I think it's going to depend on next semester. One of the several classes I'm looking at taking for my last one credit is a gym class called Women's Weight Lifting. If I get into that, I'll likely go ahead with weight lifting after this challenge. If not, I'll look into other things such as more bodyweight training and also some dumbbells.

One thing I'm adding, is a higher priority and focus on my eating habits. Adding gym days into my week has been super easy so far, but my eating habits have been sloppy at best. I can't out run, or out lift, my fork. I need to do do much better. Being careful there will make a massive difference since I've probably got an at least decent enough layer of muscle to do nice things for my metabolism.

Another thing to consider is that I really want to run more. I enjoy it, but my cardiovascular system needs training. The asthma really took a toll on any progress I made this summer. I'm going to go running again this summer, and I'm running a couple times a week now trying to train in distance.

As far as personal goals, my two biggest are continuing to work on my personal web development projects and reading my Bible more often. I'm working on both, I haven't decided what to do in regards to challenges for this, but I'll probably keep up the web dev stuff since it really needs doing and needs doing now.

Well, talking that out helped a lot, and it made my goals for the next few challenges a lot clearer. Now to think about how to incorporate these things in an interesting format :)

Goals are great right up to the point that they are unrealistic. Good job on recognizing where you are at and what you need to do to keep moving forward, both with fitness and in life.

Also, I would totally trust a jeweler who had been around for over 70 years.

I'll miss Aria, but she was just a plot device in your development, anyway. :)

I try to keep my actual goals just too easy so that I have no excuse not to give 110% on each one. It's worked well so far, and I'm doing much better by myself than I was a year ago.

That's what I'm thinking. It's a family business, and some of my coworkers have given me good reviews since I posted that.

I will too, but I don't think I'm quite 100 % done with her for good, just for the time being since I've got so much on my plate. By the time we find her again, she might be a full Jedi 0.o

RangerBrain is nothing compared to BridalBrain ;)

You made some good adjustments, I think it's a wise strategy considering all the changes in your life.

Haha it's so far been quite an interesting time in my life. Though BridalBrain needs a tranq some days xD

Thanks :) A lot of my workout tendencies have been very experimental from the beginning. Some things weren't in budget, some things didn't work for time, and others just straight up didn't work. I'm hoping that I can take something that I've never tried as a class, it'd be a great way to try out something different and see how I feel about it.

Bodyweight training might end up being the order of the month since it's easy to do in my house. I can swap out different things and try new stuff. It would lend me more time for running as well. Since I'll lose access to my gym both this summer and after December, I need to figure out new options.

Bodyweight workouts are always kinda in my back pocket because of the flexibility.  And running too.  Always available!!!  But I hope you get into the women's weight training course.  I took one in college, and it was eye-opening and empowering.

The class I'm really interested in is the climbing one. I'm scared of heights, but it'd be fun to conquer that fear :)

Yesterday's good choice- had only a sliver of one of the pi day pies at work. It was a taste essentially. Rather than sampling all the pies extensively.

Good luck with all that lies ahead. It is wise to rather adapt to circumstances, than frustrate yourself with a programme that wasn't set up for the changes. I hope you manage that climbing class! I had a taste at a friend's birthday one time. I'm also not fond of heights but have managed to get it sort of under control, as long as I hold on to something! I totally enjoyed the climbing, until the lady holding the rope told me to let go of the wall and abseil down! My face apparently told her what I thought of her idea to let go of the hand holds! :nightmare:

As I mostly train at home, I love BW workouts and the odd weight lifting I can do with the stuff I have. Keep us posted.

I did rock climbing at another college where I was attending an event, and even with very little upper body strength I did alright, it'd be nice to get some upper body strength. And in regards to falling, I did a ropes course one time. It was awesome until they hooked my harness up to a pulley thing on a slender wire and told me to jump off a platform a couple hundred feet in the air.

I'm hoping I can know fairly soon what I'll be doing so I can spend the summer preparing a bit for the class so I'm not awful at it.

ARGH I FEEL SO FRUSTRATED AT MYSELF.

I had been drinking water and staving off the urge to eat random crappy food, when my stomach growled, awakening me to the fact that I was actually hungry. Since I don't have much that doesn't take heavy pre-prep, I decided to allow my brain a small whim. I figured 'oh, I only have a few potato flakes left, I can have a little bowl of mashed taters and it will be lovely.'

Nope. Every time I thought I'd gotten to the bottom of the box, there were more flakes. But it didn't seem like there was enough left to leave in the box. If I didn't mix my potatoes with milk before finalizing the amount (I'm bad at eyeballing the proper amount of milk for flakes and always overestimate), I'd have dumped them back in the box somehow. I JUST WANTED SOMETHING SMALL AND I ENDED UP EATING ALL OF THESE POTATOES AND I FEEL AWFUL. I had been doing so well. All day, all of yesterday. Ugh.

Now that I've gotten that out of my system, I'm trying to look toward tomorrow. And the fact that dinner for me was NOT in the dining hall, and was actually quite good for me. So that's my thing.

But tomorrow will be better. This will NOT be a cycle. If I have to quit reading books completely until I can get my eating habits under control, then that's what I've gotta do. I've got other relaxing hobbies, like coloring, knitting, coding, and watching Friends. I want to feel strong and beautiful in my wedding dress. Not just physically strong, emotionally and mentally strong. Able to resist the temptation that comes with delicious food. Over the past year, things have gotten significantly better. Hopefully over the next year they can continue getting better.

They will get better, and we all have one day that we sometimes stumble, then shake it off and go on again. Now that the box is empty, it can't hurt you further. Maybe think of things you can have on hand that you can eat guilt-free. Sorry the only things coming to find right now are biltong or dry wors (jerky sticks?) But someone else can maybe help out with ideas.

Thanks :) I don't have but so much that I can eat as snacks unfortunately. I've got a container of applesauce and a ton of little oranges that would have been better, plus I've got cheese sticks and boiled eggs. And little turkey breakfast sausages :/ Oh well, Thursday will be better. I'll bring more food to eat with what I end up getting myself while I'm out (a chicken, red pepper, and brie sandwich) and make a point to get a small snack when I'm the least hungry- right after my run.

Today I made a change in my strength based workouts. I decided to try doing Blogilates workouts twice a week instead. They're fairly short, but super intense. I can do two videos a week (a third if I have time to throw in another workout) and when I get bored, I can just switch to something else that focuses the same areas. It also allows me to have at least two mornings a week that are super relaxing, rather than rushing around and causing more stress. In the long run, having some chill time is super useful since my wedding stuff is adding so much stress I'll feel less rushed and get more done. They're also going to be helpful for when I'm working this summer, they're short enough that on days when I'm tired I can still convince myself to get a workout in.

I also took a "before picture" today. I decided that I'll do measurements and photos on Wednesdays, I can track changes better that way I believe.

More power to you for resisting! I managed to do that yesterday night (I was craving chocolate like nobody's business right before bed), but today I gave in and have been snacking on peanut M&Ms while I work. As you've said, though, tomorrow will be better!
