Kilyra Posted February 28, 2016 Report Share Posted February 28, 2016 Much to my...chagrin...irritation...or (unintelligible muttering)...I've yet to get back to my pre-Christmas weight zone. Granted, holiday burnout was a factor, and then there was a mini-holiday at the start of February, but still. My attitude towards my fitness got way too laid-back and getting back into the swing has been a challenge. And I HAVE to get back into the swing... I'm a Maid of Honour for a wedding at the end of April, and my dress was ordered based on my November measurements (cue dramatic music). So, now it's time to buckle down and get serious here. Main Goal: I am at 145. My goal is to get back to 137. (Doesn't seem major, but this will be the first time I've lost a serious amount of weight and successfully stayed here so...it's major to me). Side hope is for some functional strength building. I've done a couple more challenging moves in yoga last month and realized my core strength is goooone. I used to have quite a powerful core and could nail far more challenging moves than I can now. Yikes! Only one way to fix that! Goal 1: Clean eating at a 90/10 ratio. When I break down my number of meals per week, this works out to 2 meals/treats on the 10% side. (4 points total, 1 point each week) Goal 2: Physical Activity 4x a week. (16 points total, max 4 points a week) Goal 3: Nail the freaking Hollow Body Hold...which I can't actually do right now. Going to work on the progression 3x a week (12 points total, max 3 per week) Life Goal: Work on my story 3.5 hrs each week. I would like to have Chap 1 and 2 completed this month, but a more measurable goal for me is time. It works out to 30 min a day, but I may not get time each day, so I'm down with a weekly total. I got my legs about as far as her before my back went *SPROING* and arched like a mofo. So I forced my back flat and held it for about 10 seconds, with my arms stretched out flat. There's my starting point. It kind of frustrates/surprises/baffles me because I do a lot of moves that require core strength. Like planking is a staple in my life, and I thought it used my core. But doing a different move and feeling so weak, it makes me wonder just what muscles I'm actually using during a plank. I meant to do that at the start of this month, and then "for sure Tuesday morning then". I'm sitting here at work realizing I forgot! I've got my Nov measurements for comparison, but I need to get my current ones still. I may have to set an appointment for tomorrow morning in my phone. Thanks for the reminder, it's going to happen tomorrow haha Day 1 was a pretty good success - eating was fully on the 90 side (Even after Hubs revealed he bought some junk food on the way home and tried to share with me. Thanks hon?) I found my HBH starting point, and I did my after-work workout on the way home. Just flaked on the 30 min of writing - way too tired. And them mumsie dearest called so I was on the phone for an hour, turning the tiny part of my brain that was non-mush into mush. Ah well. Bring it Day 2! We got hit with a ransom virus around noon - so anything we had done that morning was gone and the computers were offline until well after I went home. It was really frustrating and I was pretty pissy by the time I left for the day. Hubs and I had kicked around the idea of a movie after work, and I was getting it in my head that before the movie, I was going to do a 10% evening and have wings and wine before hand. Then Hubs backed out of the movie because the weather was horrible and he wasn't inclined to leave the house on his day off. He pointed out we had wine at home if I wanted to drown my work sorrows. Ultimately, I decided I'd rather dip into the 10% over a treat meal or something, not just a couple glasses of wine. In the end, I went home, ate clean and generally behaved. It was a win, even if a bit grudgingly so haha This morning I tried the HBH again and actually timed myself - 19 seconds and I think my legs were a little bit lower, but I didn't feel strong in my hold. I also think I need to be doing this at home rather than at work. It's more convenient here, but I'm realizing the floor is hard and everything is digging into my back. At least at home, I've got mats... It was wonderful and there wasn't much fluctuation on the scale this morning, so yay! HOWEVER...only eating the wings was wonderful. What it's done to my system since is decidedly not wonderful. All night I kept waking up to the sound of my stomach gurgling non-stop, betrayed and stuck between anger and confusion. And after how umm "active" my morning bathroom trip was, I have a feeling this is going to be my day today: Tummy: All is forgiven, I won't make you run to the bathroom every few minutes today.Me: Really?
