NightWatcher13
Well, last challenge went swimmingly. Let's try that again. NightWatcher felt herself shaken awake. She jerked up, nearly braining herself on the overhang of the shallow cave she'd taken refuge in, and saw a young face dressed in the clothing style she remembered from the future. Her first thought was that she'd been caught and she reached for her sword, only to remember it wasn't there anymore. The man placed a hand over her mouth and held a finger to his own lips."I'm a friend of The Doctor's, he sent me to help you. Hi!" Watcher let herself breathe again."Hi?" She replied, her mind slowly arranging itself back into order. She remembered stealing the clothes and the satchel from a store, leaving the village and picking up some food on her way before finding this cave around noon the next day. She still felt bad about the clothes. "Where is The Doctor? When will he be back?"The young man laughed. "Well, that's a funny question. He'll be here in about 6 weeks, I'll be where he is in about 5 minutes of my time." As he said this, he reached for her hand. "Oh, mind if I say how lovely your fur is?" Watcher gave him a sideways glance as he fastened some kind of device onto her wrist and quickly put the hat back on her head."Now, listen closely - the TARDIS dropped you off here, we don't know why, but this watch will bring you back here in 4 weeks of your time, about 6 weeks into the future now. Might be a bit off, it's not the most graceful travel device, but it'll get you close enough." "4 weeks? What do I do until then?" The man chuckled, taking the bag off of her shoulder and couching it under his arm."You won't be here, or... now, I guess. There's someone we were told to send you to who might be able to help get you ready for what's coming, and well, since you'd be waiting a while anyways, we figured we'd use this to get you there quicker." He pushed a button. "See you in 4 weeks, I'll buy you a drink then." "But wha..." NightWatcher's words cut themselves off when she blinked and the cave, the man and the forest all disappeared, leaving a village in her view instead. People walked, led horses, goats and camels, and seemed to take no notice of her, even in her strange clothes - these were desert people, from the middle east, and a man in white robes with a wide belt and hood was walking up to her."Ah good, I see you've come with nothing. This was how I started my journey too. Come with me." NightWatcher hesitated, then stood up, making sure the hat stayed where it was on her head. The man in the hood smiled, only his mouth showing. "My name is Altair, and you're in Masyaf, my home city. We're to make sure you're ready." With that, he lead her up a hill toward what looked like a castle. NW equipment stats - No armor, no weapon, no pouch. +1 blend hat This challenge is going to focus on basics so that (hopefully soon) I can build off of those; I wound up taking some time off, but time to get back on the horse that threw me. Last challenge had improvements in all areas except running, but none of them quite hit the marks so this will be similar to last challenge. Main Quest: Reclaiming the health bar Side quest 1 - Food prep. Make meals ahead for work (most likely Sunday or Monday night), and fill pint jars with salad that just needs dressing. 1 jar of each/lunch. Avoid eating out still, allowed 1/week. Have something available with protein and extra calories for days where I burn more calories than I remembered to plan for, either a PB/banana shake or another small, easily available snack. Side quest 2 - Flee the Enemy - zombies, run! Couch 2 5K, 3x/week Side quest 3 - Solid to the core - bodyweight strength training. 2-3x/week, depending on how body feels (3 is a bonus). Pilates, yoga, or bodyweight workout all count toward this. Life Quest - Music to my soul - This is combining 2 goals, but one was pretty close to perfect last challenge and I don't want to lose that progress. Practice guitar 3x/week for at least a half hour, and daily read both a section of the Bible and Morning & Evening (Mom got it for me for Christmas, so far I've read about one in 5 entries.) So far this week - SQ1 - checkSQ2 - none yetSQ3 - none yetLife - 1/guitar, 3/reading 2 Quote Current Challenge: Developing Roots Link to comment
SjardisDead
Sorry for showing up so late but life's a bitch and I need like 12 hours sleep to be able to handle it. But finally here I am to delivere the first GIF. How was your first week? Was your food prep a success or did your Coworkers stole it? 2 Quote Link to comment
NightWatcher13
Sorry for showing up so late but life's a bitch and I need like 12 hours sleep to be able to handle it. But finally here I am to delivere the first GIF. How was your first week? Was your food prep a success or did your Coworkers stole it?Well... this about sums up how I'm feelingC'mon, NW, shake if off... Last week rather sucked on a challenge level (for once with a reasonable excuse, even if it's one I need to deal with for a while that I need to muscle past. More on that in a minute) - Did not run - only did 1 strength workout and that was mostly 'cause I was pissed and needed to let off steam - only practiced guitar once - i managed to make about half of my meals ahead - I did eat out waaaay more than I wanted to. So far this week however, I've got - 1 run in with another coming up tonight (either during break #2 or after work, leaning toward break since it's probably going to be raining more tonight) Darn restart though - 1 guitar practice in so far, now that I figured out what was wrong with my guitar (it was actually the USB input to the XBox that wasn't working right) - only 2 days in, but so far so awesome on food, - will make sure I do strength tomorrow and saturday K, so last week was incredibly stressful, I had someone at work call me a liar to my face and claim I hadn't been cleaning an area that I had been making sure was cleaned every flipping night, BUT she didn't come to me first to complain about it, even though I come in before she's off work. No, rather than walk 50 feet to speak to me, it's much easier to call my boss, and when I pointed out that the blue dye they have been dumping down the drains is staining to toilets she called me a liar. (Wound up videoing myself cleaning the toilets with the most caustic cleaner we have to cover my tail so I can say "no, here - I have proof that this crap is REALLY HARD TO GET OUT OF THE TOILET!) Which would be stressful enough on a normal day, but right now I'm in the process of trying to get hired in full time so I can get the really nice raise and benefits that come with the territory. *sigh* so I was/am really nervous that my bosses will hear her and decide I'm not good enough to hire in. On top of that, my roommate had been leaving her window unlocked when she leaves and coming in through that rather than using the door (among other things, like leaving her dirty laundry in the bathroom after I'd asked her not to since it stinks and grosses me out, or not cleaning up her dog's poop in about a month) so after asking her to lock it didn't change the behaviour, I got sick of leaving that unlocked as an entrance (we don't exactly live in a crime-free neighborhood, and I happen to like my cats and her dog being alive and safe when I get home) so I started locking it, which on top of me repeatedly moving her laundry to her room got me massively chewed out, which led to me chewing her out... yea, fun times. So... long story short, sorry I haven't been keeping up on here, I will make sure I'm muscling through the stress more this week than last week **Edit - now that I'm off work and I can see that GIF that's friggin' epic! Also, run went well 1 Quote Current Challenge: Developing Roots Link to comment
Hazard
Personally, I'd keep making sure the window is locked. There are many times to compromise with a roomy, but personal safety isn't one of those times. My safety comes ahead of a roommate's Sillybrain. I wouldn't even even engage in an argument over it. If Roomy has a door key, then roomy can come in through the door. I'd just keep locking the window and not say a word on the topic anymore, and walk away whenever Sillybrain Roomy gripes over it. The action of making sure the window is locked will speak for me louder and more firmly than any verbal argument I could repeat. 1 Quote You haven't seen my Final Form I Stand With Gina Carano Link to comment

Oh hey, I did a thing! I should actually track that >.> Week 2 - SQ1 - 4/5 lunches prepped and awesome; 1 lazy taco bell run.SQ2 - 3/3 runs completeSQ3 - 1/2 strength trainingLife - guitar 2/3, reading like 1/7 or something crazy stupid for no good reason. So far this week:Lunches made and ready 1 run so far (today, I was lazy Monday and down with a nasty headache yesterday)no strength yet2 guitar, 2 reading so far Making homemade pizza for dinner tonight/breakfast tomorrow not the healthiest, but my calories were low today cause I got to ride my bike to work, so I'm spoiling myself a bit 1 Quote Current Challenge: Developing Roots Link to comment
NightWatcher13
So far this week: SQ1 - All lunches packed for work Did eat out more than once this week outside of lunches, 3 times I think SQ2 - 2 runs so far, 1 left for today SQ3 - 2/2 strength training, may go for a bonus today Life - guitar 3/3, reading 3/7 1 Quote Current Challenge: Developing Roots Link to comment
NightWatcher13
Oh hey, they updated the site... But I'm sure between getting used to it and all the bugs getting figured out I'll love it soon, I like the new tabs a lot. Innyhoo, last week tally : WEEK 3 SQ1- Succeeded on the packed lunch front, not quite on the eating out front SQ2 - 2 runs, my sunday ran away with me a bit I'm afraid ^^; SQ3- 2/2 for strength Life - 3/3 for guitar, 3/7 for reading. So yay, improvements, and I'm 1/4 of the way through the c25k again (run 3 of "week 2" was today, since I copped a lazy last week). I also have a handful of jars made up and waiting for me to bring them to work with me I may wind up having to focus a lot of my next (hopefully more detailed) strength challenge on pulling my shoulders back into position, since they've developed a forward slump that's making things a bit tougher in that regard. And then, there's this piece of fabulousness and inspiration that I just have to geek out about 'cause I've been a fan of his since high school: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-35841198?ocid=socialflow_facebook&ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbcnews&ns_source=facebook The one and only Eddie Izzard completed 27 marathons in 27 days (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) And I'm struggling to stay motivated for my couch to 5k training. A 54 year old man just ran 708 miles in less than a month in South Africa's heat!!! And with nails much better than mine, I might add. I may not have the same goals as him (I doubt a marathon is something I'd ever willingly participate in), but man does he have his crap together. The 27 marathons are each to represent 1 year that Nelson Mandela spent in prison, and the event raised almost $2 million american for a charity called Sport Relief Quote Current Challenge: Developing Roots Link to comment
NightWatcher13
Yes! The challenges are now 4 full weeks, which is just much neater to keep on my schedule. Anyhoo, week 4: SQ 1 - 4/5 packed lunches SQ 2 - 3 runs, but I'm going to have to repeat week 3 - not sure why, but my knees were complaining so I don't want to go on to week 4 yet SQ 3 - 0/2 strength training Life - 2/3 guitar, 5/7 reading I'll tally up the full 4 weeks later Quote Current Challenge: Developing Roots Link to comment

Not too shabby toward the end, still got some work but much better this round methinks.
