Okay, so UFC 196 is over.  We saw Miesha Tate finally win the UFC Women's Bantamweight Title.  Dana White strongly hinted that the next title shot would go to Ronda Rousey.  What do you think? Do you think Rousey should get the next shot, or someone else?

I listed the Top 5 Female Bantamweights according to the UFC's site (which still shows Holm as the champ).

Ronda Rousey

I'd actually prefer to see someone new.  I'd also like to see Ronda Rousey in a non-title match.  There was also talk of a rematch with Holm. I'd still like to see that fight, but I doubt Rousey wants the rematch as bad as she did when it was for the belt.

Holly Holm

I'm tired of seeing immediate rematches.  At the same time, I don't think it was fair that they were going to give Rousey an immediate rematch after Holm beat her prior to eventually giving the shot to Tate.  I want to see champions climb back up and earn their shots.

Cat Zingano

I like Zingano a lot, but she hasn't fought since she lost to Rousey.  I think if you're going to fight for a title you need to be a little more active.  Maybe she'll fight Holm or Rousey for the next shot.  I know that Rousey beat Zingano in less than a minute, but that could also be nerves and a poor gameplan. I'm down to see them fight, maybe Zingano/Holm would be a nice fight to see.

Amanda Nunes

I think most people want to see Nunes fight for the belt.  She's active, I mean she just fought the same night as Holm and Tate. She beat Sara McMann earlier. So, why not?

Julianna Pena

She's awaiting a court date last I heard. So I think that this match would be unlikely.

Others

I also like Jessica Eye.  She's decent everywhere and always comes to fight.  She's currently ranked #7 and we've seen jumps like that before so it's not far fetched.  The only thing that's kind of troublesome is that her record is still not that great.

I think Tate is only a paper champ until she beats Cat. Maybe not active, but there's still that looming over her.

I think it could go Cat/Meisha and Holm/Rousey with the winner of the Holm/Rousey fight taking on the champion the next time. After that, assuming Nunes makes consistently decent showings, she will be third in line.

IDK, those are just my opinions. The good thing about Tate winning is that it paints a real rock, paper, scissors picture for this division and anyone could show up at any time.

I'd like to see Joanna Jędrzejczyk move up from straw to bantam. She's scrappy as hell and if she bulked up, those kicks would be game changers.

Let's just ignore how that worked out for McGregor. I think if he spent more time prepping for 170, he would be alright there.

I don't know, the jump from straw to bantam is a decent sized jump. Not so much by straight pounds, but by percentage.  Is Jedrzejczyk that big for her weight class?  I could see moving up to Flyweight if the UFC decided to start having that weight class.

She's pretty tall. I mean, as tall as the average in the bantamweight. Flyweight would be a great compromise, since bantams and straw could move up and down into it with relative ease. 115 to 135 is a pretty big jump, I suppose. Being well over 300 myself, i always look at things in terms of heavy/super-heavy in which 20 lbs. is just a couple days of sauna.

I agree on Ronda first fighting a non-title match, before another title. Show us that she's ready for another Title fight! Would love to see Holm and Ronda again and see how that plays out first.
