sarakingdom
So you're a detective. You work for New Scotland Yard. You're chasing a rogue geneticist, and suddenly it turns out his accomplice is the clone of a three-hundred-year-old criminal mastermind. Before you know it, you're pulling the body of a dead detective out of the coffin where it's been preserved in honey so that you can reverse-age him and use his diaries to create a compudroid replica of his sidekick. Your boss isn't too thrilled by any of this. You're probably not too thrilled by any of this. But these things happen. You're Beth Lestrade. The great thing about the future is data. Data and wrist computers. I've got both. I need to use both better. So half this challenge is going to be tracking weekly trends in my sleep, exercise, and measurements. (Also, using the idle alarm as a reminder to both move and hydrate.) Weekly Bonuses 0 Average hours of sleep 0 Bonus for average sleep over 7 hours (5 points) 0 Bonus for more sleep than last week (5 points) 0 Days of hitting step goal 0 Average steps per day/1000 0 Bonus for improvement over last week (5 points) 0 Number of workouts per week 0 Bonus for waist-hip measurements decreasing (5 points) The other half of the challenge is going to be a scaled-down version of previous challenges, so I can keep my attention on the important things to track. Points 0 hours of sleep 0 Workout (5 points available) 0 Liters of water 0 Meditation (5 points available) 0 Make a Daily Schedule (1 point available) 0 Achilles tendon or quads stretches --- 0 Productivity Bonus 0 Adulting Bonus 0 Writing Goal Bonus Total Points: 0 points 3 Quote I felt like I could run forever, like I could smell the wind and feel the grass under my feet, and just run forever. sarakingdom
Also, I can't really talk about it, because it's very preliminary and stuff, but I might be one of the monks with exciting job developments this challenge. Job developments that might put me near a dojo again. Not one in my precise style, which makes me sad, but probably near enough for government work, which makes me happy. 8 Quote I felt like I could run forever, like I could smell the wind and feel the grass under my feet, and just run forever. SevenFootGeek
On the one hand, I'm happy you have potential job prospects. There are reasons you should not be jealous, which I don't really want to talk about while things are so preliminary. It is, personally, a fascinating career development, but that view would not be widely shared. I did think of that particular Vetinari quote when this news came up. There was a certain angel-appearing-and-offering-a-change-of-life element to it. And the interesting thing about angels is, you only ever get the one. So I'm jumping, because, really, I want a change. 3 Quote I felt like I could run forever, like I could smell the wind and feel the grass under my feet, and just run forever. Urgan
Don't worry about qualifying it (for us). If it's right for you, you're meant to have it, go for it and put your whole self into it.
