I was really nervous for my first weekend because the weekends are usually when my diet goes to hell, but today is Saturday and all is well so far. I had a funny dream last night though...I dreamt I had to go wake someone up, and when I got to the room, the person's head was on a mound of candy instead of a pillow so I helped myself to some jelly beans before waking them up. It's all about the mind set! It's Sunday, and I'm sitting here starting to feel a bit hungry. I have freshly chopped cucumber, carrots, jicama, some black olives and a chard/baby kale/baby spinach blend that is calling my name. Top it all off with an organic balsamic vinegar/extra virgin olive oil mix and I'll be in heaven! I'm doing great so far except that I'm going to begin my cycle today or tomorrow so I popped some ibuprofen only to then discover that listed in the inactive ingredients was corn starch!!! What the hell, ibuprofen? What. The. Hell? Does this mean that I'd have to start over? I think my head will explode from pride and happiness when it is all over and I can say, "I DID IT!" My post Whole30 plan is as follows: Thursday (4/28): Peanut butter and pinto beans allowed (assess and proceed) Saturday(4/30) or Sunday (5/1): Oats and wild rice allowed (access and proceed) Monday (5/2) or Tuesday (5/3): Cheese allowed (access and proceed) I will only eat wheat when something too delicious to pass up comes along...I will not waste my time with things like sandwich bread, muffins, etc I am totally going back to my plant-based protein/almond milk shakes for breakfast. I gave it my best shot, but I never have been and never will be a person who can sit down first thing in the morning and eat a large breakfast. By the way...peanut butter has NEVER tasted better! All slathered on half a banana...I was in heaven!
