It's literally as simple as it sounds. I brown the beef (a mixture of minced and diced) in my wok, with some chopped onion and garlic, and then toss it into the slow cooker with broccoli, peas, carrots, baby potatoes (skin left on) and whatever herbs I have lying around - in this case, rosemary, thyme and a little sage, and just left it cooking away. I was going to add a glug of red wine, but that just seemed wasteful. Perfect dish for a bitterly cold Scottish spring...

Day 4 - Spreadsheet Updated!

Great gym session last night. Built up a good sweat on the cross trainer to get started, but not so much that I couldn't lift. I'm slowly building up the weight again. Feels good.

 

Food stayed on target. Dinner was a little light due to time constrictions (I really need to get into batch cooking at the weekends), but I made up for it by throwing in an extra protein shake and a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter :)

 

Water intake still on track. Crossed the 3 litre threshold again yesterday. My pee has never been so clear. Also, it's wrong that I've suddenly taken such great interest in my pee.

Itching to get back to the gym tonight after a couple of nights at home. I think this change of approach is going to be good for me. Eating and drinking goals are still on track. 3.1 litres of water yesterday, and dinner was an amazing beef and broc casserole I'd fired into the slow cooker on Tuesday night. Took delivery of my latest shipment from Musclefoods yesterday, so I'm nicely stocked up again for a while. Amongst the package this time are kangaroo burgers (which I've had before and liked) and horse burgers (never tried horse, although I do occasionally shop at Farmfoods, so I should probably say "never knowingly tried horse.")

 

Oh, and they threw in a couple of free protein bars for me, which I'll sample after my next couple of weight sessions. Pleasing.

I recently came to realize this myself. No more questimating kcal, wondering how much you should eat and what. I'm just sorry it took me so long to figure out :P
