SkinNbones Goes Mad

I started my fitness journey almost a year ago, with the aim to get fit and to build some muscle.  I decided back then to try and gain almost 20 kg, and have so far gained about 10 Kg. However over the last 6 months my progress on this has stalled.

As such this cycle I am going to drink a bucket load of milk !  This may or may not be wise but the basic idea is to eat 3000 calories and drink 6 pints of milk. (Not quite a full GOMAD / US Galon, but it's easier to buy the milk in 3 ltr cartons).

I will need to up my workouts to try and ensure that not all of this weight takes the form of Fat. I still have no access to barbells, so will continue my bodyweight progressions, but including Weighted Bulgarian Split Squats (which I can progress using Dumbbells) and also some other Dumbbell Accessory Work (that's right Bro Curls !). I am also going to go back to including Pull-ups progressions in my main workout as I'm just not keeping up with the GtG.

  1. Gain 4 Kg
  2. Drink 6 pints of milk per day
  3. Complete a total of 15 workouts. I will include both Bodyweight and Juarez Valley work interchangeably.
  4. Fit 3 secondary Glazing Window Panels (need a life goal too !)

Oh nuts, you beat me to it! This was my first thought on the milk drinking too!

Following of course. I'm including protein shake drinking into my challenge to try and build some more muscle as well.

Thanks,@deftona , signature sorted.

I already drink a weight gain shake after each workout, and I was able to gain weight when I followed this up with being stricter about eating more. But I'm going to try and do some off-season jump training on my next couple of challenges so thought I'd try and front load some of my weight gain. My original plan should have had me hitting my target weight by Feb this year.

Milk, milk is the one thing I wish I could drink for its calories and macros, but alas, my body reacts in a HUGELY negative manner.... :(

DRINK ALL THE MILK!!

I'll be interested in your GOMAD success! Rock on!

Thanks.

I know one person who also did a partial GOMAD and was reasonably pleased. I know the SL page about it stresses not trying to do a 1/2 or 3/4 GOMAD , but I think it makes sense in my current situation. If I don't see huge gains I will at least have gained some body fat.

I'm interested to see what jump training you implement. I included box jumps in my challenge last go-round, and I'd like to see what others find success with.

Hi Jormungand. I tried following a jump program last year that was just squats and ankle bounces (see my 'semipro' challenge ) but I'd injured my knees wearing barefoot running shoes to basketball training (d'oh) si had to leave that for a while. This time I've found another one which seems focused around squats and various different jumps with quite long rest periods built in, so I think it will fit with zero week well.

Oh man, that cracked me up.

I'd forgotten this episode.

About time I jumped on this train.

Great to have the jedi master again !

I've continued my streak of working out every other day, but I'm not sure if I might be over training, old git that I am. I was unable to complete as many pike diamonds as last time.

I'll try maybe making the 4th workout Juarez Valley going forward, and see if that helps.

I'm starting this challenge from today.

I completed a bodyweight workout today. The extra days rest or maybe the extra carbs seemed to work. I was able to do 3x6 pike diamonds and they seemed easier today. Pullups are going backwards but that's my own fault for not being consistent.

Had 4 pints of milk today and yesterday, will aim for 6 tomorrow.

Following along...I'm furiously taking bulking notes as I'm sure I'll ask you tons of questions on how you ate all the calories in a few months! Keep at it, you gonna put progress pics up eventually? You're 1/2 way to your goal, that's amazing!

Hmmm.... I'm not sure about progress pics. I will take some, but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to post them. The people in Steve's emails seem pretty good at taking them and getting a clean background.

Eating all the calories is a struggle, I have to admit needing to resort to 700 calorie weight gain shakes quite a bit. Which is more sugar than I'd like.

I'm trying to also encourage my oldest to eat more as I think he's even thinner than I was at his age, perhaps milk will be a good idea for him too.

Well done on the milk drinking and workouts. Are you finding it hard drinking that much milk in a day?

You could take some progress pictures for yourself if you don't feel comfortable posting them. It's makes it a lot easier to track your progress and it's good for self motivation.

Also, what are pike diamonds? Are they like pike push ups?
