*Mandokarla: having the *right stuff*; showing guts and spirit; the state of being the epitome of Mando virtue - a blend of aggression, tenacity, loyalty and a lust for life

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

This made such a huge difference in every aspect of leveling up my life last challenge, so it's here to stay. For good. I'm keeping the general format and grading scale the same for this challenge (grading will start next week). General goals will stay the same, but I'm upping the ante for a few of them. Hopefully, they're small enough changes that it won't push me back. Gotta keep that Rangerbrain in check.

Oh, and in light of the recent development on my quest to become a member of the Mandalorian Mercs, I'm sure you can guess this challenge's theme. :P

Main Goal: Reach 35% body fat through love and awesome.

Haili cetare (lit: Fill your boots/Bon appetit): Eat well. Bring prepared lunches to work every day. Continue to minimize consumption of heavily processed foods and maximize consumption of whole foods.

Nuhoyir (lit: slumber): Sleep well. Aim for at least seven hours of sleep and GET UP when the alarm goes off, not a half hour later.

Verd ori'shya beskar'gam (proverb: A warrior is more than his armor): Move daily. Whenever I'm sitting still for longer periods of time, use movement Pomodoros (25:5). Don't forget to take care of problem areas (stretching hips and wrists). Train outside of regular classes.

Shereshoy (lit: Lust for life - uniquely a Mandalorian word, meaning the enjoyment of each day and the determination to seek and grab every possible experience, as well as surviving to see the next day): Love daily, myself and others. Continue working through my sewing projects and begin work on my Mando kit pieces. Spend time with the Husband. And don't forget to reach out to friends and family every now and then.

Haat, Ijaa, Haa'it (lit: Truth, Honor, Vision; said when sealing a pact)

As if I didn't love this challenge theme enough, you highlighted one of my favorite Mandalorian terms.  It's like Carpe Diem for up-armored badasses!  There's nothing like it.  ;)

Hi vod!  Nice theme!  Glad to see that armor progress is still coming along nicely.  Does the new merc in town mean that you might be looking into metal plates?  Metal kits are drool worthy.

:D It was either this or Guild Wars life gamification, but I would rather focus more of my time on making my kit. Glad you're gonna enjoy it!

Hey Hey! Thanks! I must confess: I CANNOT pass up the opportunity for metal plates. She's offered to show me how to dish. I agree; metal kits are amazing. This is the kit that she's currently working on:

I was just talking to someone else on the forum about how much we love the Mandalorian culture that Karen Traviss created. I am glad to see another fan! I will be following and looking forward to hearing about your progress.

Was that person Rurik? :P Welcome aboard!

YAY! BTW, love that you're using your Sylvari character for Rurik's PVP. :)

Actually it was Broba Fett, but good to know there are Mando'a a plenty!

Sweet! TBH, I haven't read much Mandalorian EU books, but they're on my list. I do really like what I know of their culture already though.

It is a Sylvari, but not mine.  I really should've made the effort and done a screenshot though.  She's got a badass mask right now.  haha.

I love that part of her mask is the jawbone of some carnivore! I've got two Sylvari characters, but they're both wearing their respective cultural sets (I'd share screenshots if I was at home).

Yep. :D  So hard to find the supplies though.  I resort to buying most, whereas leathermaking... easy.

Good, it's not just me. I TRIED to Chef, but whereas all the other crafting recipes are pretty straightforward, Chef is so complicated and open ended, you're just like "OMG WHY IS THAT NOT A FOOD?!" If you need food supplies, I don't mind sending you some of what I've got. I don't really use them that often, but I always gather everything everywhere.

Yeah, I gather ALL the things I can find, but still.  It's not terribly expensive yet.  Totally agree...  THAT IS TOO A FOOD!

Ooh dang! I love your challenge, SkiBlue. That's super cool that you've incorporated the language and everything. Do you speak it, or just know a few words?

You have inspired me to retry learning dovahzul, the dragon language of Skyrim, so that maybe I can incorporate it into a future challenge like you've done here!

And, linguistic geekery aside, your goals are great too. :panda:

Shiny!  I want it...  Definitely hit her up for some lessons, she's obviously got mad skills.  Those chest plates are great, though I'd imagine that dishing them sucks.  Are you aiming for a certain timeline for completing your kit(s)?

-Realized that I've read your Merc threads, but never commented.  Fixed.  Now I can stalk follow your progress. :P

Unfortunately, I only know a few words and phrases, and only written down and read, not spoken. Speaking and listening are the weakest areas for me when learning a language. I've taken Spanish and Russian in school, and I'm currently "learning" Portuguese for Capoeira. I think trying to pick up Mando'a might be pushing my brain's capacity atm. I already count in both Spanish and Russian at the same time...

She actually has a REALLY HELPFUL tutorial about how she cut and dished out those chest plates. My timeline is really just "I hope to have my kit mostly complete by the end of the year." Every time I think about everything I have to do, I'm worried that it won't happen, but I can hope and try, right? I'd LIKE to take my time, but I'm also kinda tired of waiting on it. With this lady's talk of gathering people together for a solid armor party around here, my desire to work on this kit is pushing itself to near the top of my priority list again.

YAY Stalking!
