So far this week has been ok. 

I haven't made it to the gym, but am going tonight, fri, and sat or sunday. also planning on a ruck over the weekend. Though, I have to clean my apartment and I might just toss on my ruck with 20lb plate and clean with that on. 

 

I'm super stressed today because mom isn't feeling that well and has a sonogram today and all I can think is cancer cancer cancer.

Cancer and heart attacks and all the little processes of life going wrong in the face of the entropic nature of the universe. I hope the sonogram doesn't reveal anything worse.

 

Rucking is definitely something I want to pursue at some point a long time from now.

The sonogram was clear. I was really upset and nervous about it because her blood sugar hasn't been good lately (she's diabetic, but typically well controlled) and she said she's had pain and itching in the left "boob." I know she's going to die someday, I just don't want it to be from cancer. I want her to live a full life. I'm not ready for that to happen now. My grammy died when I was 2, and my mom was 27 at the time. I can't imagine what she went through, and I am no where near ready for that. I also know that I don't get to choose any of this. 

 

 

GOAL PROGRESS:

I weighed myself. I don't like the number. I'm really not wanting to put it up here, so I'm not going to. A few of the nerds know what it is, I'm just not ready to disappoint everyone with it. I've pretty much gained all of the weight I lost back. Though, lately I'm feeling a renewed sense of commitment to kicking ass again. Maybe it's the spring? Maybe it's because I feel like I am not respected as much as a good coach based on how I look. I know that shouldn't matter (look at gene coffee,) but in my "world" it does. I know I'm one of the best coaches at my gym, and probably the best olympic lifting coach at my gym. Now I want to look the part. 

 

 

Goal 1: Rehab, Gym, Ruck

Workout Yesterday: 

Barbell Strong, Wave 1, Week 3 (wendler) 

Bench Press:

5x40lbs

5x50lbs

5x60lbs

5x75lbs

3x85lbs

AMRAP at 95lbs - I got 8. 

 

Kettlebell Flys

3x15 at 8kg each arm

 

Goal 2: Dani Two-Bricks

I've been tracking. Really trying to stick to my calories. 

 

Goal 3: Get Your Mind Right

taking all supps, except I can't find my tumeric, so that one is not happening right now. 

I'm making a point to really clean my place up this weekend. I started today. I'll do a little, then when I start feeling overwhelmed, I stop. Then go back to it 15 min later.

Unfortunately, how you look does make a difference when you're coaching.  I catch myself on this occasionally and remember that knowledge and strength don't ..... WON'T .... get packaged in a model's body.  But it's a hard mental habit to break.

I feel you. When my Dad had his heart attack, it freaked me right the fuck out. Facing these things that end us... how strange and terrifying.

 

I have a bit of a cleaning bug myself, lately, although I'm not so disciplined in pursuing it as you are. :)

oh i am not disciplined. i have guests coming this weekend.

1+ at 75. I got 6. 

 

Close Grip Bench Press:

5x55lbs

Front raises:

used 8lb dumb bells in each hand 

3x15

 

 

Sunday Workout:

I also checked my walking total. I did 3.45 miles, probably about half that with heavy groceries, so I consider that rucking ;)

I could go for a glute massage. Is that a strange massage to request? I normally just order up the run of the mill massage and HOPE.

Super late here, but yeah, just straight up ask. 

 

I tend to ask my clients what they'd like me to focus on for the session, and that's when you would say "glutes, please!"
