redimagination
My challenges this year are improving and I am sure that this will get better the less time I spend being ill. However, this challenge is going to be slightly different. As I will be doing a lot of campaigning this challenge for upcoming local elections and trying to rest and take care of the rest of my life at the same time. I'm going for three simple but important challenges plus I am going to add my own mini-challenge per week. Goal: Reason: I created a goal to travel by foot more than I did in 2014. What a perfect time to put a focus on that part of the challenge than during an election. I will still be going to the gym and whatever else but there won't be the same focus on it as I may not be able to go as often. What: Track (via my phone and runkeeper app) 20km walking (about 5k a week) this should be do-able but may have to add in extra walks How: Track my walks while out delivering leaflets and any extra walking I do Bonus points: Extra walks, particularly in nature Motivation: I need to beat my 2014 self! Goal: Not to give in to temptation Reason: While I tend to eat quite well, my eating habits of late have tended towards junk food. This is not good for me or helping me stop being ill. What: Remove as much junk food (high calorie - low nutrition, generally just not good for you) as possible. No take-aways and when eating out choose something that at least has vegetables in it (as far as being vegetarian will allow me). I don't have enough fridge or freezer space for much meal-prep (though I still need to read that NF article) but I will keep making my healthy lunches. Evening meal I need to work on as I am mostly feeding myself at nights for now. How: Say no, plan ahead, buy fruit etc. for snacks. Tracked on myfitnesspal. Bonus points: Actually saying no to junk food. Making it through the whole month without junk food. Motivation: To feel better. To be better. Goal: Keep on top of life Reason: I'm going to be busy this month. I need to make sure I don't neglect other things in my life and includes me/ rest time as well. What: List! I love lists. I have done something similar to this in previous challenges but I have decided to bring it back as it feels appropriate. How: I will make a to-do list every Sunday for things I need to do that week including rest/me time each week. Keep track of what I need to do and not just leave it all for a day off. Bonus points: Bonus points for every day that I finish my to do list early. Motivation: It gets stuff done. I like lists. I will feel better. Mini-challenges Week 1 - Every morning get up 5 minutes earlier than normal and do as many push ups as possible. Week 2 - Update my challenge thread every day Week 3 - Week 4 - 1 Quote Current Challenge Previous challenges:7, 6, 5, 4, 3. 2, 1 I am the one thing in life I can control Link to comment

redimagination
I have had a great day 0! I have got through stuff I needed to do: sort out bank account, take up work dress, prepare work lunches for the week, made to do list for the week, went to the gym, tried kettlebell swings for the first time and cleaned the kitchen. Just need to set my alarm 5 minutes early for the start of the mini-challenge. It has been a while since I've done push ups so I'm expecting a low number but hopefully I can improve on that. On the plus side my boyfriend has said that he wants to eat better from tomorrow as well so that will be useful! Illness levels are quite low. The fact that there is so much going around the office doesn't help! 1 Quote Current Challenge Previous challenges:7, 6, 5, 4, 3. 2, 1 I am the one thing in life I can control Link to comment

redimagination
Thank you all! Day 1: No walking outside what I would normally do today but will be sorting that part of the goal out at the weekend. I have eaten well today. No junk food. I have tracked everything and I'm within my calorie goals and Macros are a little out but not by much. There isn't too much on my to do list for tonight apart from wash gym clothes. Which writing this has reminded me to do! And finally, I managed 9 push ups this morning. Better than I was expecting. Hopefully at least 10 tomorrow! Not a bad day 1. Looking on to day 2! 1 Quote Current Challenge Previous challenges:7, 6, 5, 4, 3. 2, 1 I am the one thing in life I can control Link to comment
redimagination
Day 2! 11 push ups today. So that's nice! I also went to the gym. Slowly continuing to increase strength and should be back to what I was lifting soon enough. I may have had some chocolate today. But within calories and even sugar today which doesn't happen often! No to do list items today other than going to the gym but I haven't had much time for much else! redimagination
Yeah I have kind of failed at updating. But Walking: I have walked about 8km today (I say about as I accidentally left my tracking app running while in the car! I may have to revisit the distance I set. I have also also been to the gym twice this week and will be going tomorrow. I can feel my strength coming back which is great. Not to give in to temptation: not so well. Though on one occasion it was due to the only food source available to me being a chocolate biscuit and not being able to focus on work unless I ate. Overall not too bad but could be better! Keep on top of life: My list was quite modest this week having taken care of a lot of things already. But most things have been ticked off. But tomorrow I will be doing a new to do list! Mini Challenge Wednesday - 12 Thursday - 13 Friday - 10 (day off, done these after the gym) Saturday - 15 I have enjoyed this mini challenge. I enjoy the format too! Let's see what I can do tomorrow before starting week 2s mini challenge - update every day! 1 Quote Current Challenge Previous challenges:7, 6, 5, 4, 3. 2, 1 I am the one thing in life I can control Link to comment

redimagination
Day 7! Today has been good and busy. quietish morning, got some writing done and then planning this afternoon. I got 16 push ups in too. Walked 5km while campaigning. Then came home, rehydrated and then went to the gym. It was clear when squatting that I had been walking but I managed. The gym was nice and quiet which I always like. I look forward to the time I can have my own home gym! Though I am lucky my gym is a minutes walk away. 1 Quote Current Challenge Previous challenges:7, 6, 5, 4, 3. 2, 1 I am the one thing in life I can control Link to comment
redimagination
Week one review! I didn't do very well at updating about it but my challenge has gone quite well so far. My goal for the challenge was to walk 20km. This week I have walked 13km. So I am going to review that number to 40km. Saying no no hasnt gone incredibly well but apart from the odd occasion I have done well. I can do better this week to keep myself going. I have done well with my to do list. I have another set up for this coming week. Again quite modest based on the time I'm going to have but enough to keep everything in my life going! My mini challenge was to get up a little early in the morning and do as many push ups as I could. I started off the week with 9 push ups at quite a struggle. To doing 16. I'm happy enough with that! Next week my mini challenge is to update this thread everyday! 1 Quote Current Challenge Previous challenges:7, 6, 5, 4, 3. 2, 1 I am the one thing in life I can control Link to comment
Tanktimus the Encourager
Good job on that distance. redimagination
Day 8! Not much walking to talk about today (apart from what I done at work and all I can say is I am glad I am sitting down tonight). Gym is planned for tomorrow. I did have cake today. I had cramps and wanted chocolate. I don't feel bad for that. To do list shall be looked at tonight but I don't think much will get done as I'm so tired. I have updated, yay, despite feeling tired. redimagination
Day 9! Not much walking today apart from to the shop to get food for tea (yay sweet potatoes) which I didn't track as it is a normal walking thing. I did go to the gym though this morning which was nice and quiet. Got a good workout in and feeling good. Love that I am getting to the gym regularly again. I keep slipping on the cake thing. Unfortunately. Tomorrow will be better as I won't have any temptation. Only going out campaigning so not worried about that. As for the to do list. I have ticked some things off like sorting out my savings and other bank stuff. I'm also currently procrastinating from working on my novel (though writing this post is part of my challenge). 1 Quote Current Challenge Previous challenges:7, 6, 5, 4, 3. 2, 1 I am the one thing in life I can control Link to comment
Rurik Harrgath
I created a goal to travel by foot more than I did in 2014. I realize I'm somewhat behind the curve here, but I just wanted to chime in and comment that I really love that goal. It's something that I'm slowly working my way toward. redimagination
Day 10 4.8km walked today! It was good to get out and get fresh air too and felt better for it. Anxiety has crept up a little and going out and talking to people wasn't my idea of a good evening but it was fine. I have the opposite problem today and have not eaten enough. So going to try and find something healthy to snack on. To do list is looking good. I have focused on it and worked on bits. redimagination
Day 11 I don't have that much to say today. It has been a pretty uneventful day. I didnt do much outside my usual work day. I have eaten well today. Though did have a panic earlier of not having enough food to snack on and being hungry but I scavenged some couscous from the cupboard. to do list doesn't look that much better but keeping up to date with things.
