Spartan John
Project Asthma 2#: Asthma Harder "The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday" Hello, It's me. So, how are you guys? I'm actually pretty fine. As usual, all my plans are in vain, things go wrong and I manage to use the opportunity to my favor. But, again, my plans do fail a lot. I guess I must fight harder. Challenge 2#: Get In Shape Starting on 17/04/2016 Duration: 6 Weeks. Goals: Running (3000m, 15:33 or less); Rear Pull-Ups (10+). I beat the pull-up challenge much much much earlier than I thought (on day 1). So, I'm going to train for fun. Seems pretty simple to me, And much easier than that grandiose program I did last time. Spoiler Week 1# Day 1: 12m Recovery Run. Pull-Up initial test (can't make a program without testing myself first) Day 2: 15m Recovery Run. 6:6:7:4:9 Pull-Ups. Day 3: 10m Base Run. 7:6:6:8:9 Pull-Ups. Week 2# Day 1: 20m Recovery Run. Day 2: 20m Recovery Run. Day 3: 15m Base Run. Week 3# Day 1: 25m Recovery Run. Day 2: 25m Recovery Run + Sprints. Day 3: 20m Base Run. Week 4# Day 1: 30m Recovery Run. Day 2: 30m Recovery Run + Sprints. Day 3: 30m Base Run. Week 5# Day 1: 35m Recovery Run. Day 2: 30m Recovery Run. Day 3: 30m Tempo Run. Week 6# Day 1: 40m Recovery Run. Day 2: 35m Recovery Run + Sprints. Day 3: 35m Tempo Run. Pull-Up program ...Later on page... Wish me luck. fleaball
That song is going to be stuck in my head for eternity now. Thanks. Are you working toward speed or distance or just running in general? (I'm not good at deciphering running goals.) Either way, good luck!
Koaladle
SO GLAD that I only listened to That Song a couple of times. XD Also this: How is your challenge going? Quote Koaladle Current Challenge Daily Battle Log Link to comment
Spartan John
...Hello. How are you? It's so typical of me to talk about myself. I'm sorry lol sorry, It makes me laugh. 1. Haven't started the challenge yet (Starting: 17 April). I find that I often delay at planning my programs (writing them down, thinking about consequences, etc.), so I sat down to write, and I finished much earlier than I expected. I thought it was a good idea to post the program immediately, without delaying as usual. 2. Since my current fitness status equals to that of a (45% muscle weight, 11% fat) couch-potato, I'll focus on building basic endurance and restoring my back muscles. Can't do much more without first getting in base shape. 3. I understand that all challenges must end at 30.4. Who do I ask to keep my post from getting locked down like the others? 4. Thanks for the support. People here are so nice... you don't owe me anything, yet you pay attention to others... 1 Quote And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. Link to comment
fleaball
Your challenge doesn't have to end on the 30th. You can keep going as long as you want. They don't lock the threads, they just rename the entire subforum. You're good. Spartan John
WHOO! Grain free was a hard transition for me, but I think you're going to rock it. DO THE THING! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Thanks. I don't mean to be a damn knocker, but how do you manage? At first I'll keep eating white rice. I'm a pretty skinny dude, so I need that constant flow of cals, else I'm cactus. 1 Quote And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. Link to comment
Koaladle
A lot of it I didn't consume much in the first place (bread, juice, beer), and then it was a matter of changing my mindset. Instead of thinking of what I can't eat, I take the inclusionary approach: I can eat animals and vegetation, I can have a little bit of dairy, I can have eggs, I can drink water and tea. Focusing on the can't was really discouraging. It took a lot of attempts--and frankly the last week I've not been good about it at all. Progress, not perfection, right? :-) If you need that flow of carbs, take that into consideration when making dietary changes. The last thing you need is to pass out from malnutrition. Have you talked to a doctor about your health goals? 1 Quote Koaladle Current Challenge Daily Battle Log Link to comment
Spartan John
A. I believe in doing things your way. To progress gradually (1), and to start thinking about what is allowed and less about what isn't (2)...? B. I don't think I need carbs proper, only for the short term. C. I consulted with more than one doctor, for many times. Plus, I'll do some blood tests. Those were fantastic ideas you said there, matey! especially (-A-). It took me three months to start really getting anywhere with the habits and weight loss. If I gave up after a month, I wouldn't be 20 pounds down. It took a bunch of attempts to figure out what worked for me, both with diet changes and workouts. Better to fail differently every time, because you'll find the solution eventually. Excellent job talking to a doctor. It's always best to have a pro sign off on health issues. Quote Koaladle Current Challenge Daily Battle Log Link to comment
Spartan John
It's all in being patient and silent, and not giving up. That's how people success. Definitely going to use your words. Spartan John
Update Well, the grain-free thing didn't go so well. I plan to run the 10m (medium speed) and do 7:6:6:8:9 Plps. 1 Quote And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. Link to comment
Spartan John
Update I didn't run yesterday or today. I'm unfocused: I need to get up 8 hours from now for my shift. I also did not do the grain/sugar thing. I guess I'm not happy, which, by my teachers, means I can't focus on. Happiness is the main key to progress. Hmm. I'll figure it out somehow. Can't let meself lose this opportunity to improve meself. I'm sorry if I disappointed someone. It takes me time to rebuild inner strength and s***. It won't be completed in a day. Or even in a week or a month. I believe I'll beat the challenge's goals just in time. But it won't be a piece of piss. Especially when all my health-goals aren't listed as challenge goals. Tomorrow is a no-fitness day because I don't even have time to breath. I'll find another time. I must. Maybe even tomorrow. Somehow. Here's a photo of awesome smiley meeting. Spartan John
I studied a bit and it made me a little bit happier. So, king goes to sleep. It's amazing how simple actions, not entirely connected to the official goals in our lives, can be revealed as important nonetheless... Crazy. 1 Quote And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. Link to comment
fleaball
That photo is kind of terrifying. Don't worry about your goals. Like you said, it takes time. Besides, part of this stuff is also figuring out what doesn't work for you.
