My grip is fairly wide (ring fingers on the rings) but I hate like doing narrow grip work to work up some of my weaker upper body muscles. But I can definitely lift more with wider grip, as can most powerlifters for sure. I guess I did manage to eat a good bit considering my first bite was after 3PM. I've been pretty good about iron, but I did miss a dose that one time. I've done well on stretching and technique review, maybe my efforts will show up in squatting and in a reduction in having to be completely reintroduced to techniques after a long absence. Speaking of, did not go to the dojo on Wednesday, obviously. My scalp was so tender my hair hurt. Thursday wasn't very fun for that reason. The bench talk was probably the highlight of my day, so thanks for that. For as much as you have migraines you do push through them a lot, so giving yourself some leeway when needed makes sense. A first for this month, I think. As mentioned earlier, I am trying to up the frequency of squat and bench. Monday was fairly normal. I matched my bench 5RM at 82lbs. Hopefully will smash this next cycle. Wednesday's priority is deadlifts, squats, and lastly super light bench. Which explains why I did it in the OPPOSITE order.....squat racks were taken and no way am I actually doing deadlifts first. They're so named for reasons, guys. Oh well. A little compromise and I was able to get most of the prescribed work done. My protein powder experiment plus lowering dairy is making calories harder to hit, but dat protein....right at 125g on avg. Yes. Dropped mag, maintaining iron. We shall see if my insides explode. I'm still tight but it's not hindering my squats and that is the main thing. I am Aikidoing. We did yoko shihonage on Monday and slapped bokken on Wednesday. Any day with shihonage is a good day. Funny thing, we did yokomenuchi shihonage in class last night too. I think the basic yokomenuchi block is simple. It was amazing how much trouble the beginners had with it. What brand of protein powder are you trying, and what do you put it in? We've been using Show Me the Whey (vanilla) from our co-op, available at co-ops in many places. It runs for $19/lb in bulk. We mix it with yogurt. It cuts the acidity of the yogurt and blends in well. I tried another protein powder from the grocery store when it was on sale. It had a strange flavor and I was suspicious about their nutrient claims. Dumbledore is tracking his macros so I might get some data on the nutrient content of my food.
