Don't ask how I noticed this. I got all my sessions in, but it required doing 3 consecutively. Gotta stop doing that. Despite how bad I felt all week, these felt pretty good. I'm getting calories in, every day but migraine day was up overall. I'm trying to sleep on my back now and I've restarted magnesium--I'd laid off for a bit. Need to get back to it, I am still experiencing pain from Shark Week to this moment. Ugh. I'm doing well with iron, but not so much with the curfew. I'm sure I will pay for this later. I didn't do any Aikido stuff because Shark Week + nothing new to review. I did, however, work on my right leg and we're getting close to normal. Squatting isn't triggering pain or tension. I have to work harder to find the point at which tension exists, but it IS still there. I keep forgetting to mention this, but @shaar mentioned how Carnivor is a pain to mix up. I haven't had a TERRIBLE time with it after the first attempt or two (though it does require a good bit more prep effort than other protein powders or else you're gonna have a bad time). I get a shaker cup and put a great big handful of ice in it after the shaker ball, dump in a scoop, and fill the cup to around the 12oz mark with water. The package claims 6-8oz per scoop, but this is nonsense. After shaking the dickens out of it, I let it sit, then give it the old shakey shake again. Not only does this get the shake good and cold, the extra agitators make mixing a bit less hellacious. Aikido Review techniques - 3/8 Weekly To-Do Buy flea meds for the cats Lay off the right leg Psoas massage - 6/8 Alright, so. First of all, my sleep/curfew has been garbage. Monday I did the thing in the gym and while I didn't PR, it was solid work. Headache at work well into midday. We practiced yonkyo and that was fun. Felt pretty confident about the technique. Went home and applied back to my prior employer because a position FINALLY opened up exactly like what I was doing before The Layoff 2016. More experience asked for than I've got, but maybe I'll get lucky. This application process took me well past curfew because if course it did. Tuesday the headache made a repeat appearance. Somewhere between then and Wednesday I decided it was either hunger or a cry for caffeine. I fed it and did not over-caffeinate and that seems to have resolved it. Hunger is +5 this week, WTF body. This was a very low energy day, however, and ended up uninterested in eating a full portion at dinner. Wednesday squats felt heavier than they should, but did the thing without having to cut out any part of my program for sake of time. At the last minute, boss's 2nd boss twice removed (because WTF is corporate structure?) stopped in inquiring about status of something I had no reason to be working on because I barely know what it is, not how it works, much less how to test it. There has never been any testing done like this, nobody has a clue, but this person seemed to believe there was information out there to give to me, but I happen to know that the person who does this sort of thing was left out of this loop. So. Yeah. I disavowed all knowledge and will look to my department for backup to avoid being bounced out on a limb outside the scope of what we do. Then I went to aikido and we did jo and bookends work. First jo work and real-is random ever. We did 2 vs 1 where our job was to grab hold of one person and keep them between us and uke #2. That was...interesting. Then I came home late at night and had to deal with a big scary letter saying my dad-in-law was gonna lose Medicare coverage except he's on Medicaid as I found out after digging around a bit. Ugh. Mike had a panic attack and I had a hard time being problem solver and grief counselor at the same time. I'm not cut out for this drama, guys. The damn letter was soooo vague and actually inaccurate since it was a much, MUCH less dire denial of coverage than it was made out to be. Not. Cool. I was at a seminar a week ago and sensei taught something I'd never seen before. Neither had my partner, who is a fifth dan. I gymmed on Monday, which was upper body 3s. I can in fact bench 91lbs for triples, even on garbage bench racks. Matched my OHP 3RM of 65lbs without terribly much trouble. The fire alarm dinner was accidentally left out all night. Cue scramble for contingency plan. After work, Aikido. Ushirotekubitori kotegaeshi. AKA what to do when you're faced with a two hand grab from behind and you are bound to do a wrist reversal. I did really well with right hand side, really badly on left. Typical kotegaeshi day. Tuesday was blah. Made dinner, napped, ate dinner. Had trouble getting comfortable, so sleep was Delayed. So far today, no gym because I weighed what I would gain by training against the possibility of more sleep and rest for the muscles around my left shoulder blade. They are not big fans of being put in low back squat rack position. Mega DOMS, I figure. Chose sleep. Only just now really waking up and I've been at work for hours. Yay. Bedtime has been later than I want, but at least consistent. Leg hasn't been bothering me.
